BINGAMAN, ARTHUR LEE Age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to eternal life, Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Services will be held in Albuquerque at the Riverside Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Lee was in the Navy from 1959 to 1962 on the USS Lake Champlain. On May 5, 1961, the USS Lake Champlain picked up astronaut Alan Shepard, the second person and the first American to travel into space. Lee was a meat market manager for Furr's Supermarket until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maria Bingaman; son, Earl Ingersoll; daughters, Patty Ingersoll Desing and Terri Bingaman; grandchildren, David Ferrell, Taylor Desing, Berto Chavez, Connor Desing, and Megan Desing; brother, Gary Bingaman and wife, Hollie Bingaman; and sister, Winnie Keiser. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur I. Bingaman, mother, Catherine Bingaman, and brother, Bruce Bingaman. Lee is most remembered as a caring, loving man with a very witty personality. His favorite activities were riding horses, riding motorcycles, boating, camping and traveling with family. His sense of humor will be missed by all. BLACK, JOANNE M. Age 67. Counseling psychologist Joanne M. Black, PhD, MSN, RNCS, passed away February 9, 2015, at her home in Albuquerque. Her sister Teresa Materio and two nieces of Atlantic City, NJ, survive her. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, February 28, at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Hall at First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd., N E, ministerial intern James Galasinski officiating.

BUTLER, JEREMY SHANE Passed away on February 20, 2015 at the age of 34 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his parents, James and Debbie Butler; brother, Jameson Butler and girlfriend, Alicia Huddleston; sister, K' dawn Butler and fiance, Donovan McIntire; grandparents, Charles and Beverly Culbreth, James and Lore Vaughan, and James Butler; aunts, Janet Weresch, Shari Alonzo, and Janet Holmlund; uncle, Dennis Culbreth; cousins, Joshua Alonzo, Jordan Alonzo, Chris Weresch, and Lindsay Weresch; and many, many close friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Orville and Mildred Rowin. Jeremy was born November 20, 1980 in Clovis and was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. He earned an AAS from Mesalands Community College. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, fishing and four wheeling. He was an avid reader and loved animals, especially his dogs, Luna and Odin. Jeremy was a loving son, a special brother, a very caring friend and an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by many, but he will live on in the hearts and memories of all those he touched. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the family home.

CORNELL, DUDLEY (LEE) EMERSON IV Dudley (Lee) Emerson Cornell, IV, age 61, passed on suddenly and peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, D.E. (Skip) Cornell, III; his brother, Christopher George Cornell; and his partner, Gilbert Baca. He is survived by his mother, Joan Anderson Cornell; his sister, Jill Elizabeth Cornell; and his brother, Craig Arthur Cornell and his family: wife Ava Cornell and their children, Kori McGael Anaya and her husband Florian Anaya and their children Jadon McGael and Esmae Nevaeh Anaya, Kamden Samuel Cornell, Skyler Emerson Cornell, and Chenoa Arthur Cornell, all of Albuquerque, NM. Lee attended the Albuquerque Academy and Manzano High School. He also attended the University of NM and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in University Studies as a returning student at the age of 48 with a concentration In Mathematics. Lee started his working career as a professional dancer. He danced at the Stardust and MGM Grand Hotels in Las Vegas, NV and was one of six dancers with Bobbie Gentry for about six years. From there he went into writing workshops for trainees at the Bank of America in San Francisco. Also, while in San Francisco, Lee completed the EST Training developed by Werner Erhard that brought to the forefront the ideas of transformation, personal responsibility, accountability and possibility. He later volunteered at the EST Headquarters in San Francisco for several years. Lee returned to his hometown of Albuquerque in the late 1980's and served on many healthcare committees including with NMAS (New Mexico Aids Services) and Aligning Forces for Quality which focus on improving health and healthcare in communities across New Mexico. Lee was also very involved in AA and NA groups for many years, often volunteering and chairing meetings. Lee was an accomplished cook and had perfected his own secret recipe for the best chocolate chip oatmeal cookies ever. He was also an avid reader and gardener. He gave of himself generously over the past seven years being his mother's live-in care taker following her successful recovery from a stroke and a bout with cancer. DURAN, JOSEPH A. Age 85, died Saturday, February 21, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Duran-Guillermo and husband, Joseph; son, David Duran; granddaughters, Andrea Gutierrez and husband, Christopher Meurer and Nicole Duran; great-grandchildren, Monique Gutierrez, Dezmond Gutierrez, Andre Kirk, and Maddison Duran; great-great-grandchildren, Dezmond Gutierrez Jr.; Alyric Eyster, and Zander Gutierrez; nieces and nephews, Arlenda, Auturo, Lydia, Danny, Ida, Clorie, and Nancy; and numerous other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Duran; siblings, Amalia Griego, Mela Martinez and Andrea Gutierrez. He was born in 1929 in Las Vegas, NM and grew up in Santa Rosa, NM. Joe entered the United States Army on July 3, 1946 and proudly served in Italy until June 30, 1949. He returned back to Albuquerque where he was a part-time cab driver and then in 1955 became a meter-reader for the City of Albuquerque Water Department, advancing to Special Assessments in 1974 and remained in that section until he became involved with Valley Projects in 1980. Joe retired from the City of Albuquerque in the mid 1980's. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, March 2, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. ELLISON, MATTHEW Matthew Ellison passed away peacefully on February 24, 2015, at his residence in Albuquerque. He was 60 years old. Matt was preceded in death by his dad, Glen Ellison of Carrizozo. He is survived by his mom, Peggy Ellison of Albuquerque; two daughters, Tara Ellison and husband Rick Selter of Vermont, Amber and husband Trevor Wallin and grandson, Gus of Albuquerque; and son Matthew Ellison of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his siblings, Glenda and husband Dan Armstrong of Albuquerque, Cindy and husband Bob Chadd of Carrizozo, and his brother Marc Ellison of Carrizozo; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Matt was a 1972 graduate of Carrizozo High School and a member of the Grizzly football team that won the State Championships in 1969, 1970, and 1971. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1977. He was a lifelong Grizzly sports fan as well as an avid Lobo fan. Matt loved playing and watching sports, reading, doing crossword puzzles, working in the garden, fishing, hunting and anything involving the outdoors. He will be greatly missed. EVANS, WILLIAM J. JR. Bill Evans, of Springfield, IL, was a loving family man, a musician, an economist, an adventurer, photographer, writer/poet, a professor and a two time Fulbright Scholar. Nicknamed "the Chancellor of Affection," his entire family flew into Albuquerque to let him know how much they loved him before he passed away peacefully with family on February 20, 2015. GANZ, DOLORES M. A resident of Albuquerque, NM, and formerly of San Antonio, TX, entered Heaven on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the age of 85. She was born in Green Bay, WI on March 17, 1929 to Joseph and Clara Staats Angerer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Virgil A. Ganz; brother, Donald Angerer; sister, Grace Thorse. KEMP, RALPH L. AKA "SPOT" Wonderful father and a great friend to many. Ralph Leroy Kemp died Saturday February 21, 2015 in Atlanta Georgia, with close friends by his side. Ralph was born to Doris and Elmer Kemp in La Junta, Colorado August 22, 1943. Ralph was raised in Albuquerque NM and worked his way through college as a member of SAE fraternity. He went on to graduate from the University Of New Mexico with a degree in English and Drama and Speech. Ralph earned his teaching certificate, although he never taught in the classroom he was very proud of this accomplishment. Ralph also served in the U.S. army from 1967 to 1968. He spent his career working for IBM in marketing and management development. Ralph was a bon vivant who enjoyed traveling abroad and experiencing other cultures. Yet he always made time to visit family and friends in Albuquerque twice a year, every year. Playing golf and dining out with friends and family is what he loved the most. Ralph enjoyed joking, old trivia, classic movies and politics, staying up into the late hours talking with friends and family. Ralph is survived by his daughter Robin Riekeman and son-in-law Russ Riekeman; granddaughter Luna Riekeman; and sister Brenda Lea Marsh. We will miss him here in New Mexico as will the casinos. Christmas will never be the same! In his memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MCDONALD, GLENN A. After over a one year battle with Lewy Body Dementia, our merciful Father took Glenn home to be with Him. No more sorrow no more pain Glenn's passing is Heaven's gain. Glenn is survived by wife Martie; brothers Jerry and wife Sue and Pat McDonald; sister-in-law MaryAnn Atwell and husband Fred Atwell; four children and their spouses: Glenda and Mike Akins, Vicki and Rusty Wafer, Robert Fones and David and Rachel McDonald. Glenn was blessed with nine grandchildren: Nicole, Alan, Shawn, Robert, Katie, Emily, Logan, Tabitha and Brittany. He was blessed again with 14 great-grandchildren. He worked most of his life in the food service industry, owner and manager of restaurants and sales representative for food brokerage companies. The family was proud that he was top salesman of the year at a national co. for three years. He was passionate about his family, church, fast pitch softball, golf, Dallas Cowboys and Lobo Basketball. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Memorial service will be held at Calvary Abq. on Osuna 3/5/15 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army.

ROSSIGNOL, MARILYN Marilyn Rossignol lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer on February 22, 2015 at age 87. Born December 27, 1927 in Chicago Illinois, Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and graduated from Albuquerque High School. She and her husband Richard Rossignol Sr. founded Northeast Auto Electric in 1951. With her sons, the business continues to serve generations of customers. Marilyn was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed camping and swimming. As the neighborhood historian, her vibrant energy made her yard a gathering place for all. Her beautiful intuitive green eyes will always be remembered by family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Richard, her father Frederick and mother Emma Raymond Broell, and sister Alberta Hamilton. Survived by her siblings Barbara Caughlin and Frederick Broell; children, son Richard Rossignol, Jr. and wife Connie, daughter Connie Callan and husband John, son Mark Rossignol and Susan Reidy; grandchildren Paul Rossignol and wife Lisa, Eve Rossignol, Bart Callan, Danelle Adams and husband Joseph; and the great-grandchildren, Lily and Lola Rossignol. SPIESS, CLEOFAS PAMELIA MARES Age 85, went peacefully to our Lord Thursday February 19, 2015. She was born in Las Vegas, NM to Alonzo Jose Mares and Maria Patrocinia Gallegos Mares. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents "Grampa Lonzo and Gramma Pat," her sister Priscilla Romero; her niece Frances Kohut and her great niece Cristine Cunningham. THOMAS, ELTON Age 91, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1953. Elton is survived by Gale Thomas, wife of 67 years; by his son David; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter Denise Thomas and his brother Harold Thomas. Elton was born in Raton, NM, schooled in NM and CO. He then served three years in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW2 and was a partner in the Insurance firm of Seligman & Thomas for many years. VALDEZ, ELODIA A. Age 85, was born in Cuba, NM and was a longtime resident of Bernalillo, NM, died peacefully in her sleep on February 26, 2015. She is survived by her husband, George of Bernalillo; sons, Abe and wife Laura, and Martin both of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Natalie, Memphis, TN; grandsons, Jacob, Lucas and Adam all of Albuquerque, and great-grandson, Aiden of Memphis TN. She is also survived by her brothers, Felimon, Jacobo, Willie and wife Viola, and Elden and wife Patricia; sister, Katie and husband Roy; and countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacobo and Juanita De Herrera, brothers, Eulalio, Eustacio and Eduardo; sisters, Emma Sigmon and Anna Jaramillo. Elodia retired from the Bernalillo Public Schools in 1983. She had over 13 teaching assignments during her 32 year career. Her first teaching assignment was in a one room classroom building in Cuba, NM which included teaching two of her younger brothers, to finishing her tenure at Bernalillo Public Schools as a librarian. She had an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Bilingual Education and Library Science. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, 7:00 p.m., at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., also at Church of the Incarnation with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. She was a longtime volunteer with St Vincent de Paul and a lifelong member of Right to Life.
