ELLISON -- Don Lewis Ellison, 40, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at his home. Don was born May 25, 1966 in Albuquerque to Roy and Lena (Smith) Ellison Jr. He attended Eldorado High School and TVI where he met his wife Jennifer. With their dog Lucy, Jennifer and Don made their home and they had many wonderful years together. Don traveled from coast to coast and made every road trip an adventure in fun. He loved to play and recently Don and Jennifer celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary and his 40th birthday, with a trip to California that included Disneyland and Medieval Times where Don was knighted and became "Sir Don". His passions were many and included a love of motorcycles. He rebuilt and custom painted a '78 Harley Sportster then took it to the Laughlin Bike Run. His only tattoo, (you guessed it) a Harley Chopper. He always enjoyed a good movie and a great book and was excited to discuss either with anyone. After a full career in automotive parts store management, Don jumped at an opening to drive buses for the City of Albuquerque Transit Department. He loved the view from his "office window" and his contagious smile could be spotted as he navigated traffic around Albuquerque. Likable and approachable he quickly developed friendships with many of his regular passengers. Quick to laugh, Don had a way with enthusiastic story telling, that left everyone within earshot rolling on the floor hysterically. Willing to help anyone at anytime, Don assisted his father with many garden projects, including lawn mowing and tree trimming. He dug many deep holes to bury yard clippings; some so deep he couldn't climb out of them without a ladder. Don was a die-hard Steelers fan and enjoyed watching them win a Super Bowl last year for the first time in a long time. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Greene-Ellison; father, Roy F. Ellison, Jr.; sister, Julie Wylie and husband, Wayne, sister, Cindy Franks and husband, John; twin brother, Tony Ellison and girlfriend, Freda; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Effie (Smith) Ellison. REGAN -- Colleen Annette Regan, born July 18, 1949 in Detroit, MI, died August 9, 2006 in Santa Fe, NM. Colleen never recovered from a near drowning accident in Mexico on April 8, 2006. Her last conscious act was to save a friend from drowning. Colleen epitomized the era of the 60s and loved the music of John Lennon, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors and others. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class at McKenzie High School in 1967 then received a BA in English and MS in Education to start her professional career as a teacher, but that wasn't her niche. She went back to school to get a BS in Accounting and an MS in Taxation and became a dedicated CPA with a 20 year career; her tax clients more often than not became her friends. She loved to travel and visited several countries before her retirement in July 2003 at which time she began traveling fulltime in an RV mostly in Mexico and Central America. Colleen was a highly competent CPA and a generous friend who sampled life like a hummingbird samples flowers. She was fearless, generous, loving, talented, hard working, impish, and eccentric and will be missed by all who knew her. She knew there is more to learn than what we discover during our lifetime on this planet and now she is out there finding out what she always suspected was our inter-connectedness in the universe. She was ever hopeful that we humans would learn to take better care of this Earth and learn to live peacefully as one united world. We who loved Colleen will watch for her to show up in our lives when we most need her or least expect it. She is survived by her father, Ramon Regan; aunt, Grace Baker; sister, Kathleen Regan; brother, James Regan and his wife, Nita; sister-in-law, Jerri Regan; nieces, Cathryn, Courtney, Marguerite, and Paige Regan; nephews, James, Stephen, and Brett Regan; partner, Kathe Kirkbride; son, Jared Matts; and many friends from her years in Nevada and New Mexico. Colleen's mother, Betty Regan and her brother, John Regan predeceased her. A celebration of Colleen's life will be held on September 10, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. See http://www.whirledvision.com/Colleen for details when they become available.
