Don Maestas, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, was called to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Victoria Maestas and sisters, Violet Rhodes and beloved sis, Margie Harrell. He is survived by his brother, Alfonso Maestas Jr., wife, Dolores; sisters, Josephine Rosenquist, Alice Sanchez, husband, Oliver, MaryDora Sandoval, Vickie Chavez, husband, Paul; Goddaughter, Melinda Marques; many special nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ms. Mary Duncan and Ms. Connie Higgins. He was known to the neighborhood kids as "Uncle Don." Don was an avid musician playing guitar and piano. He devoted his life to caring for his parents as well as helping others. Pallbearers: Joe Ponce, Mike Marquez, Tony Cordova, Gary Barreras, Delano Ponce, and Lawrence Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Thursday August 17, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque. Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande, 5901 St. Josephs NW, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2006. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
