ARMIJO -- Elio (Leo) Raul Armijo of Albuquerque passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005. He was born July 10, 1942 in Morenci, AZ to Lazarita Lerma and the late Tomas Armijo. Elio is survived by his mother, Lazarita Saavedra; brother, Angel Ted Armijo, San Diego, CA; son, Mark and wife, Melissa; son, Adrian and wife, Eileen; granddaughter, Aja and grandson, Christian, all of the Lopez Family. Elio was a very devoted son, father, and grandfather to his family. His grandchildren were his world and he will be dearly missed. He will be in his family's hearts and thoughts forever. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. BUNKER -- Juanita F. Bunker age 81 of Clovis NM died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born February 13, 1924 to Fred and Cora Devinnia Underhill in Moffet, Colorado. She married Elmer Bunker on May 13, 1945 in Taos, New Mexico. She was a business manager and co-owner for Elmer Bunker and Associates Auction Sales. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved taking care of her children and their home. She enjoyed watching baseball. She came to Clovis in 1992. She is survived by her son, Edward (Debra) Bunker of Clovis, NM; daughter, Vickie Ross of Crowley, Texas; brother, Jack Underhill, of Denver, Co., granddaughter Shawna (Ernie) Bunch of Bedias, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband. Graveside services will be held Thursday December 15, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque, NM with Pastor Marvin Capehart officiating. CALDERON -- Alfonso M. Mr. Alfonso M. Calderon, 88, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 12, 2005. Mr. Calderon is survived by his two grandchildren, Debbie Romero and husband, Jose Luis, Mark Tapia and Anna; four great- grandchildren, Lisa, Tina, Monique and Alejandra; nine great-great- grandchildren, Mario, Debra, James, Nikki, Hannibal, Adrein, Mitchell Jr., Melonie and Rudy Jr. and many great-great-great- grandchildren. Mr. Calderon was preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Calderon, a daughter, Margie Tapia and a son, Andres Calderon. Mr. Calderon was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mr. Calderon will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Ed Savilla. CHERMAK -- Helen Chermak, born Helga Marcovici on June 7, 1923 in Brandenburg, Germany passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. Helen's father Max was an entrepreneur who lost everything on Kristallnacht. Helen bravely faced great, daily uncertainty in her childhood and teenage years. She survived the war years as slave labor while the few members of her immediate family survived through the unheralded heroics of a small group of citizens of Rathenow, Germany, God bless their souls. Helen spoke several languages and after the war, she worked for a year in General Zhukov's office in Berlin as a translator. She later immigrated to the US where she enjoyed a private life and anonymity. Helen is survived by her three children, Linda and husband, Jim, Michael and wife, Sandy and Stephen. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Trey, Wendy, Camron, Krysten, and her sister, Vera. Mom, we are proud to be your children and are grateful for the life lessons you gave us. DELKER -- Trudy Herman Delker, 79, of Frankfort, MI and Albuquerque, NM, died peacefully at her home in Albuquerque on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Herbert Delker; one daughter, Charen Stafford and husband, Reynold of Tijeras, NM; one son, Rick Herman of Pinckney, MI; three grandchildren, Erik Herman, Niki Herman and Renee Herman. Trudy was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Herman; her parents, Howard Shorter and Olga Shorter; and sister, Thelma (Tomi) LaFreniere. She was born in Frankfort, MI on July 16, 1926 and resided there for most of her life. In 1987 she married Herbert Delker. They spent their winters in Albuquerque and summer in their home on Crystal Lake in Michigan. Trudy was an avid balloon enthusiast and rode on 23 flights. There will be no services in Albuquerque. DOVE -- Carolyn Joan Randall Dove passed away on December 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born September 28, 1941 in Liberal, Kansas. Her family moved to Dawson, NM in 1943 and in 1948 to Truth of Consequences. They moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1954 where she graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1959. In high school she was active in music as a pianist and an award winning bassoonist. She attended University of New Mexico graduating with her Baccalaureate Degree in Music Education. She married Floyd Harvey Dove on July 7, 1963 and lived in Lompoc and San Gabriel, California. For graduate study, they moved to Tucson where she taught music at the University of Arizona and Harvey earned his PhD in Water Resources. His working career took them to Saudi Arabia; Rockville Maryland, Tampa, Florida, Richland, Washington; Lee's Summit, Missouri; Albuquerque, NM and Las Vegas, Nevada. Carolyn served her precious Lord Jesus Christ and community as church secretary in many of those cities. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Harvey; her parents, Gregg and Fern Randall of Las Cruces, and her brother and his family, Darrel, Rose, and Evangeline Randall of Albuquerque. EPPERSON -- Joyce Bonita Epperson, 95, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 at her home after a short illness. She was born February 25, 1911 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma. Joyce graduated from Mill Creek High School and attended Ada, Oklahoma State Teachers College, graduating in 1933. She married Freeman Epperson in 1934 in Tecumsache, Oklahoma where they taught for 2 years. In 1935 their only daughter, Janelle, was born. The family moved to Rogers, NM and taught there till 1947. Joyce was a Home Economics teacher and Freeman a principal and coach. In 1947 they traveled to Holbrook, AZ. Freeman was principal and basketball coach and passed away in 1974. In Holbrook she was teacher of the year in 1963 and a member of the Methodist Community Church. Joyce retired in 1976 and moved to Albuquerque where she was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma in 1961, Gamma Chapter in Albuquerque since 1976 and a long time member of the N.E.A. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janelle of Albuquerque; nephews, Cris Underwood and Richard Padilla; nieces, Emilie Underwood and Divina Padilla; great- nephews, Richard Underwood, Conrad Padilla and wife, Patsy and Ramil Padilla and wife, Sun-Ah; great- nieces, Cristal Everette and Annita O'Connor; great-great- nephews, Joshua Rowden, Alexander Everette, Alec O'Connor and Adrian Padilla; great-great- nieces, Malaya Everette, Naomi Padilla, and Kate Padilla. GALLEGOS -- Margie Gallegos went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2005 at the age of 76. She was born on June 10, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Gallegos is preceded in death by her husband, Adelicio Gallegos and her son Albert Gallegos. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Naranjo and Theresa Alderete and husband Ned; daughter-in-law; Helen Gallegos; six grandchildren and 15 great -grandchildren. GARCIA -- Patricia Garcia "Pat", age 57, was born February 15, 1948 to Manuel A. and Caroline V. Garcia in Alamosa, Colorado. She passed away, Tuesday, December 13, 2005 in Albuquerque. Pat was the eldest of six siblings. She graduated from Dulce High School in 1966 and went on to receive her education in Nursing. Her last years of employment were in the capacity of Psychiatric Nurse at Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital, having retired as an RN. Preceding her in death were her parents, Manuel A. and Caroline V. Garcia and her infant sister, Juanita. Pat is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Garcia of Albuquerque; one sister, Martha Naranjo and husband Robert of Rio Rancho, NM, four brothers, Nick Garcia and wife Lori of Abilene, KS., Frank Garcia and wife Rose-Ellen of Espanola, NM, Leroy Garcia and wife Beverly and George H. Garcia of Alamosa, CO; godparents, David and Conseulo Gallegos; a close and well loved friend, Ruby Garcia; nephews, Michael Garcia and wife Kelly, Nick Garcia and Dakota Garcia; nieces, Amy Federico, Rebecca Naatz, Audra Garcia and Summer Garcia; many extended family members. GUEST -- Mark Guest, 41, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Friday, December 9, 2005. He is survived by his parents, John and Carol Guest of Albuquerque; grandfather, William Guest of Rottingdean, England; and other family members in the U.S., Australia and England. Mark graduated in Theatre Arts from UNM and was very active in local theatre, which was his great love along with music. His daily life was occupied working with his parents producing southwestern decorative metal art work. HARRIS -- John Michael Harris, 56, of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2005, while surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Albuquerque, on October 12, 1949 to Kay Young and the late John H. Harris. Michael was preceded in death by his father John H. Harris and his brother James Patrick Harris. His surviving family members include: wife, Patricia Nolan-Harris; son, John Michael Hoffman and wife, Robin Webb, mother, Kay Young of Amarillo, TX. two brothers, Tim Young and wife Lisa, Amarillo, TX, and Terry Young and wife BJ of Amarillo, sister, Linda Austin of Amarillo, TX. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All who knew Michael were blessed by his caring and gregarious personality. Michael served in the USMC as a Staff Sgt. and was a Vietnam veteran. He had many life adventures in business ownership and careers, including being a gemologist in his own jewelry store and a yacht captain traveling throughout the Caribbean. HENRY -- Christine. In Memory of Christine Henry, 86, formerly Christine Di Marzio of Raton, NM, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Jack E. Vallem of Lodi, CA; grandchildren, Jack Volpato and Sherry Neatherlin of Carlsbad, NM, and Lori Christine Dawson of Yuma, AZ; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Neatherlin and Gemma Volpato; and step-great-grandchildren Randal and Laura Dawson. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Anna Di Marzio; siblings Ritz, Lena, and Johnnie; daughters, Elaine Joan Volpato and Sally Louise Henry; and grandson, Jon Edward Tipton of Carlsbad, NM. She was born on July 27, 1919 and was married in Raton, NM in 1940 to Jack E. Henry. Mrs. Henry was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her care and thoughts were always for others. Her love of flowers and outside gardening were her passion. A sunny day and blooming flowers gave her delight. Cooking and baking was her specialty. Christine was known for her wonderful pies. HERNANDEZ -- Michael Hernandez, age 96 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1980 died on Sunday December 11, 2005 following an illness. Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife of 66 years Antoinette Hernandez; one son Michael Anthony and wife Kathie F. all of Albuquerque; grandson Loren Anthony of CA; granddaughter Krista Doherty of Albuquerque; cousin Jesus Hernandez and wife Doris and their daughter Thais of Miami Lakes, FL. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Anthony. Mr. Hernandez was a waiter at Lindy's and the Coconut Grove in New York City before moving to California in 1955 where he became a member of the Los Angles Hotel & Restaurant Union. Services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Fitzgerald and Son. Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. KELLER -- Anthony Wendel Keller, 94, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his son, Anthony and daughter-in-law, Lynn Keller of Danville, CA; his daughter, Marlene and son-in-law, Christian Fritz of Albuquerque; by his sister, Barbara Weinman of the Seattle area; and by numerous family members. He provided devoted care to his beloved wife of 54 years, Mildred Fredrickson, during her lengthy illness prior to her death in 2003. Born on December 23, 1910 in a village near Odessa, Russia, he emigrated to America in 1911 with his parents, John and Magdalena Keller and siblings, settling first in Collyer, KS and then on a farm north of Havre, MT. Tenth of fourteen surviving children, he graduated from Havre High School and a California Technical Institute. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers in WWII, moving to Richmond, CA in 1948, where he lived until 2003. He was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend, who was known for his dedication to family, community, and church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1936 and twice Grand Knight of Council 2741, a past president and member since 1945 of IBEW Local 360 in Oakland, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1945 - 1975, and an active parishioner of St. Cornelius Church since 1948. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary at Colusa and Fairmount Avenue in El Cerrito, CA, followed by a Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Cornelius Church, 225 28th St., Richmond, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Cornelius Church or your favorite charity are requested. KNOLL -- Thomas J. Knoll, 76, passed from this life on Monday, December 12, 2005 following a lengthy illness. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gertrude, of the family home; sons, Thomas Jr. of Fullerton, CA, Kenneth of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Terry and grandson, Christopher, both of Albuquerque. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Bernie Webb and sister-in-law, Ann P Webb; brothers-in-law, Nabor Pena of Gallup, NM, Louis Pea of Belen, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was born July 15, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service. He then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Air Traffic Control Center where he retired after 22 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church for over 40 years. Tom had a love and passion for his family, life, travel and Bingo. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, December 15, 2005, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. LUJAN -- Frankie David Lujan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 1, 2005 after a sudden illness. A resident of Denver, CO, formerly from Bernalillo (Llanito), NM, he was a caring man, who loved to sing and play guitar. Frankie served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 thru 1989. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family dearly. He is survived by wife, Angie; children, Bryson, Bryana, and Brayden; his mother, Terry and husband, Frank (Kiki) Lucero; and his father, Manuel Lujan. Survived also by sister, Lisa and husband, Danny Archunde, and children Daniel, and Danielle; sister, Lori Lujan and son, Matthew; and sister, Karen Lujan, and sons, Benjamin, Joey, and Samuel; also step-brothers, John, Michael, and Robbie Lucero. Survived also by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 16, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, followed by Burial at the Bernalillo cemetery. MONTOYA -- James L.( Jimmy) Montoya a resident of Bernalillo, New Mexico passed away, Sunday, December 11, 2005. He was born September 11, 1948, the youngest child of Louis E. and Sarah Montoya. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his father. Jimmy is survived by his mother Sarah Montoya; brother, Robert Montoya and wife Josie; sisters, Cecilia P. Zamora and Beverly Montoya and Wayne Sandoval. He is also survived by his former wife, Gloria Montoya; and daughter Tammy; numerous nieces and nephews and other beloved family members and friends. PARSONS -- Betty Marie Parsons of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2005. She was born January 27, 1934 in Hanlontown, Iowa to Thelma and the late Olaf Lund. Betty is survived by her mother, Thelma Lund and her sister, Margaret Johnson. She is also survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert N. Parsons. Her surviving children are, Robert N. Parsons, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Fairborn, Ohio, Tanner O. Parsons and wife, Tracy of Portland, Oregon and Dusty F. Parsons and wife, Terre of Phoenix, Arizona. Betty is also survived by six grandchildren, Jason, Dana, T. Nolan, Kayla, Tessa and Josie. Betty joined the US Air Force at Pepperell AFB in St. John's, Newfoundland in August of 1952. She was discharged in October 1954. She was a world traveler and lived in Athens, Greece, Izmin, Turkey, and St. Johns Newfoundland. Betty was a Bible Study leader and Sunday school teacher. She loved the Lord her God with all of her heart. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed. A service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. SANCHEZ -- Mrs. Alice V. Sanchez, 87, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 12, 2005 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Sanchez is the beloved mother to Mary Elaine Padilla and husband, Jole, Josie Sanchez and husband, Miramon, Martin Thomas Sanchez and wife, Debbie, Jessie Sanchez, Joanna Castillo and husband, Carlos, David Sanchez and wife, Sandra. She is also survived by two sisters, Petrita Romero and Fina Martinez; two brothers, Tranquilino Vigil and Joe Vigil and wife, Vivian; a sister-in-law, Rosa Vigil; many grand-, great- and great-great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Luis, sons, Johnny, Michael and Raymond, a daughter, Vicky. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. SCRUGGS -- Laurence Edward. Lt. Col. USAF Ret. Laurence Edward Scruggs Jr., 84, a retired USAF Aircraft Commander, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1:00 P.M. Laurence was born October 13, 1921 in Roanoak, Va. to Laurence Edward Sr. and Myrtle Bernice Neighbors Scruggs. He married Vivian June Richardson on July 19, 1943 in Albuquerque, NM. Laurence and his wife moved to the Cleburne area in 1995. As a couple they were very active in all orders of the masonic Temple and Shrine. She preceded him in death on June 4, 2004. Laurence was an extensive USAF Ret. Decorated Military Officer and Aircraft Commander during the WWII era who flew the B29, the B47, and others. THOMAS -- Jim C. Thomas, USAF Msgt. Retired. Jim, age 81, passed away at home Sunday, December 11, 2005. He was born in Oklahoma and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, having retired in 1968. Jim then worked at the VA Hospital for 15 years and retired in 1986. He was a resident of Belen since 1972. Jim is survived by his wife, Maria Thomas; children, Steve Thomas and wife Karen, Mark Thomas and wife Lavina and Janie Goff; nine grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; one great-great -granddaughter; sister, Joann Tilly and husband Jim; other family members and friends who loved and will sorely miss him. WROBLEWSKI -- Edris Grace Wroblewski, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2005. Edris was born September 1, 1927 the daughter of Emil and Leola Firkens in Iowa. Edris was an excellent Baker; enjoyed games, particularly Bridge. Edris was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; her parents; and one son, Mark Wroblewski. She is survived by five children, Kim Wroblewski and wife Valerie of Placitas, NM, Brian Wroblewski and wife Donna of Placitas, NM, Gary Wroblewski of Las Vegas, NV, Janet Lee of Chandler, AZ, and Doreen Scheiner and husband Mark of Rio Rancho, NM; one grandchild, Jessica Scheiner of Rio Rancho, NM; three brothers, Gerald Firkens, Leon Firkens, and Zane Firkens, all of Iowa.
