Michael Hernandez, age 96 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1980 died on Sunday December 11, 2005 following an illness. Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife of 66 years Antoinette Hernandez; one son Michael Anthony and wife Kathie F. all of Albuquerque; grandson Loren Anthony of CA; granddaughter Krista Doherty of Albuquerque; cousin Jesus Hernandez and wife Doris and their daughter Thais of Miami Lakes, FL. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Anthony. Mr. Hernandez was a waiter at Lindy's and the Coconut Grove in New York City before moving to California in 1955 where he became a member of the Los Angles Hotel & Restaurant Union. Services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Fitzgerald and Son. Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Sandia Hospice 601 Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Albuquerque. NM 87102.
