Baca -- Lo Lo Baca, 59, a former resident of Belen, passed away in Huntington Park, California on July 13, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ninfa; two sons; two daughters; and seven grandchildren. Lo Lo was the son of the late Emiterio and Manuela Baca. He is also survived by four brothers, Trinnie, Michael and Manuel, all of Belen, and Alford of California; three sisters, Cora Marshall and Helen Rodriguez of California, and Patsy Pugh of Tennessee. Services and interment will be held in Huntington Park, California.

Berget -- Ronald W. Berget, born April 7, 1954 in Chicago, Il., died July 12, 1998 after a long illness. He was a finish carpenter, and enjoyed hunting, camping, wood and iron working. Ronald was a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, and was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Berget; and his sister, Jeanne Berget-Landeau, who died on June 30, 1998. He is survived by his son, Robert; his mother, Dorothy Berget; three sisters, Carol Bechtel and husband, Richard of Sunnyvale, Ca., Valerie Berget of Albuquerque, and Nancy Berget of Albuquerque; four brothers, Jim Berget of Farmington, Richard Berget and wife, Kim of Albuquerque, Kevin Berget and wife, Sandra of Edgewood, Norman Berget and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque; and numerous family and friends who will miss him. Fogle -- AMY STEELE FOGLE, 33, born Thursday, July 16, 1964, and a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday, July 14, 1998. She is survived by her husband, Harvey M. Fogle of Cedar Crest, NM; parents, Walter and Elaine Steele of Albuquerque; sister, Kim Steele of Albuquerque; brother, Gary Steele and wife, Kris of Los Lunas, NM; mother and father-in-law, Harvey and Betty Fogle of Lexington, SC; brother-in-law, Bruce Fogle and wife, Christy; and sisters-in-law, Val Shirah and husband, Johnny, DeeDee Irwin and husband, Johnny, and Dodie Douglas and husband, Mike, all of Lexington, SC. Amy has now joined her brother, Mike, who preceded her to heaven. She was a graduate of Sandia High School, Class of 1982, and was employed as a cellular phone sales representative in Albuquerque for the past ten years. Amy and her husband loved being outdoors with their dogs, Yale and Candy. She especially loved spending time at the cabin at Conchas Lake. She was a caring and free-spirited individual who devoted her life to caring for those less fortunate than her, especially with her extended love for children. All that knew her know how much she loved life and how many lives she touched. Extra joy was brought to the person of the life she touched. Amy was loved by her family and will be missed more than words can say. Services will be held Friday, July 17, 1998, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Garcia -- Mrs. Marina C. Martinez-Garcia, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, formerly of Taos, NM, passed away on July 13, 1998. Mrs. Garcia was the beloved wife to Mr. Ciso Garcia. She is also survived by four daughters, Flora Gregory, Susanna Espinoza and husband, Miguel, Mary Lou Esquibel and husband, Roger and Bernadette Pino and husband, Orlando; one daughter-granddaughter, Debbie Casaus and husband, William; eight sons, Luis G. Martinez and wife, Piedad, Eusebio Martinez and wife, Anna, Willie Martinez and wife, Dorothy, Joe Martinez, Al Martinez, Ben Martinez and wife, Leia, Ralph Martinez, Steve Martinez; one sister, Emilina Valerio and husband, Lalo; one brother, Tano Sandoval and wife, Mary; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death b her husband, Willie Martinez Sr. (1984); a daughter, Alice Martinez (1974); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening at the Rio Grande 7th Adventist Church. Gardiner -- Marie Louise Gardiner, 72, beloved wife of 55 years to Paul E. Gardiner, Colonel U.S.A.F. (Ret.), died suddenly on Wednesday, July 15, 1998 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Mark, Gary and Andrea Gardiner of Albuquerque, and Rande and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Kimberly and Christopher Gardiner of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Celeste Cernik and husband, Ron of Houston, TX; brother, Steve Kroger of Baton Rouge, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her loving friends knew her as a loving companion who made flowers bloom and relationships last. Henrie -- Peggy F. Henrie, 88, a native of New Mexico and resident of Albuquerque since 1938, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelynne Barnes of Taylorville, IL; son, James C. Henrie and wife, Joan of Corrales; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Adams of Glendale, AZ; brothers, J. Wade Miles and wife, Sarah of Tucumcari, Floyd Miles of Roswell, Lloyd W. Miles and wife, Betty of Belen, and Franklin E. Miles and wife, Pat of Santa Fe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, former Governor John E. Miles and Suzie C. Miles; and sister, Edna Green. Mrs. Henrie worked for the Bernalillo County Motor Vehicle Department from 1939-1941, the Atomic Energy Commission from 1948-1959, and Sandia National Labs from 1959-1971, retiring in June 1971. She was a Past matron of San Marcial #34 of the Eastern Star and also Past Worthy High Priestess of the Albuquerque White Shrine. Mrs. Henrie was a life member of Pythian Sisters and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Mrs. Henrie was a member of the Christian Church in Tucumcari. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Monroe M. Miles officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens. Kaufman -- Ellen Harrison Kaufman, 54, passed away on July 14, 1998 in Gallup, NM, after a long battle with cancer. The part of her who was Hannah went with her. She was a graduate of New Rochelle (NY) High School and held the following degrees: BFA Tyler School of Art, Phila., PA, MA in English Literature (West Chester University, West Chester PA) & former student at the University of the Arts, and Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA. Born in New York City, she was married to Simon Goldman in 1964 until his death in 1967. She married Jerold Kaufman in 1969. Her activities always included numerous community service commitments. Most recently, she hosted a classical music radio program in Gallup and served on the public radio station Board. Hers was a life of passion, growth, nurturing and deep commitment to her roles as wife, mother, homemaker and talented artist. Her creativity and depth gave her passion for art, classical music and opera and literature. All she did she did with energy and commitment. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Jerold; and her children, Christopher, his loving wife, Carolyn and daughter, Zoe (Hong Kong), Seth (Hartford, CT) and Hillary (Ft. Collins, CO); parents, Mina and Samuel Harrison (Albuquerque); and sister, Myrna Changar (NYC). Those of you who wish to remember her in your hearts need only look at the Pole Star to find a contact. Komadina -- Anton Fredrick"Tony" Komadina, 81, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 1998. Tony was born June 13, 1917, the son of Ferda and Julia Jackovich Komadina in Dawson, New Mexico. He had been a star athlete in football and basketball at Dawson High School, and selected center of the All-State Football Team in the 1930s, also played drums in the Dawson High School Band. Tony graduated from Woodbury College in Los Angeles, California, where he met Marjorie Pollock, he and Marjorie were married in Albuquerque on December 8, 1942. After college he served in the Alaskan Front and Aleutian Islands during WWII. He had an extended hospitalization at the end of his tour for injuries suffered from Mustard Gas burns received in duty. After his return to Albuquerque following the war, he became Chief Yard Clerk for the Santa Fe Railway Operations and also announced the arrival and departure of thousands of trains passing through Albuquerque in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Many have heard his"All Aboard!" as they left the Duke city. Upon his retirement from the railroad, in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, he and his wife led thousands of people to every corner of the globe as tour guides for Kollander Travel of Cleveland, Ohio. On every continent, his easy going disposition, and gentle manner made all around him at ease, and opened many doors of hospitality to those who traveled with him. For the last nine years, he had lived with his wife, son's family, grandchildren's families, and great-grandchildren at Vista Hermosa Llama Farm in Corrales. Tony was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Katherine Pollock Komadina; son, Steven A. Komadina, M.D. and his wife, Penelope Kimball Porter Komadina; sisters, Angelina Jasper, Mary Cullender, Ann Komadina, Francis Komadina; and half-brother, Albert Grubasic; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Komadina Christiansen, Amy Katherine Komadina Victor, Rebecca Ann Komadina Mills, Spencer Kimball Komadina, Elder Neal Anthony Komadina, Bogota Colombia North Mission, and Elder Mark William Komadina, Madrid, Spain Mission; great-grandchildren, Morgan Paige Mills, Cameron Porter Christiansen, Abigail Grace Victor. He will be missed sorely by his family, but will also be missed by all of the guests and visitors to the farm and its animals. New Mexico has lost one of its kindest and best citizens. Visitation will be tonight, Thursday, July 16, 1998, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The service will be Friday, July 17, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary conducted by Steven A. Mumbower -- Blossom Mumbower, 68, a resident of Farmington since 1983, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Mrs. Mumbower was born January 19, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Dallas Phillips and Maude (Nance) Phillips. Blossom attended high school in Mt. Vernon and also graduated from there. She moved to New Mexico in 1950 and to San Juan County in 1983. Blossom married Harold Mumbower in 1949, also in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington. Blossom loved bowling and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by three sons, Ron Mumbower of Jackson, MS, Steve Mumbower of Albuquerque, and Kelly Mumbower of San Antonio, TX; a sister, JoAnn Lehde of Spring Hill, FL; a brother, Charles Phillips of Salem, IL; and six grandchildren. Perez -- Ramon Perez, 67, of Fort Sumner, NM, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at his home following an extended illness. Ramon was born February 23, 1931 in Albuquerque to the home of Ramon Perez Sr. and the former Sarah Barrio. He was reared and attended school at Vaughn, NM, where he graduated in 1951. Following graduation he worked on the family ranch, east of Vaughn. He operated the Hubbel Ranch at Quemado, NM from 1969-1977. Ramon married Deanna L. Marcilla on August 15, 1970. Ramon and Deanna returned to the family ranch, east of Vaughn from 1977 until 1988, when they moved to Fort Sumner. Ramon was a member of the NM Wool Growers Assn., NM Cattle Growers, Farm Bureau, and a 4-H leader. He was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carmen Perez Alonzo in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Deanna Perez of the home in Fort Sumner; two daughters, Nicole Perez of the family home and Laree Perez Losey of Corrales, NM; a son, Frank Perez of Albuquerque. Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Perez of Vaughn, NM and Anna Osle of Albuquerque; one brother, Albert Perez and his wife, Corrine of Vaughn, NM; a brother-in-law, Manolo Alonzo of Vaughn, NM. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Chavez Funeral Home. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 1998 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 18, 1998, from the church with Father Anthony Bolman, Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Reynolds -- Edward L. Reynolds was born May 20, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio to Edward and Clara E. Reynolds (deceased). Edward graduated from Eldorado High School in 1988. Edward became a member of the Israeli Church of Universal Practical Knowledge in 1991. During his seven years with the church, Edward became a nationally recognized priest and biblical scholar and lectured at many universities and high schools throughout the country. His belief in the World of God is illustrated in his life by his tireless example and zealous endeavor to bring Blacks and Hispanics to be one with the Lord. As a black activist, prophet, teacher, father, husband, brother, and friend to all he met, Edward L. Reynolds will most assuredly be remembered as an important figure of Black History and Progress. Edward also left an example to the business community by helping form Total Quality Management Security, which became one of the most competitive security companies in the southwest, working with many famous names and faces. He is survived by is father, Edward Reynolds; sister, Lisa Reynolds; and brother, Terrance, all of Albuquerque; and brother, Randy of Danville, IL. He also left to mourn three daughters, Sharahya, Ebony and Napashya; and a son, Isaac, in addition to two children, which preceded him in death, Willa and Banshanya, all of Albuquerque; maternal grandmother, Roxie Sorrell of Danville, IL. Also surviving is a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 1998, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Roberts -- On July 15, 1998, Richard James Roberts of 1625 Fornax Rd., Rio Rancho, NM, went on to be with the Lord. His wife, Ceridwen; his three sons, Rick, Tom and Keith; and his four grandchildren, Ricky, Renee, Steven and Timothy survive him, as well as nephews, Daniel and Michael; and his niece, Patricia, from Vermont. Born and raised in Poultney, Vermont, Dick joined the Marine Corps at age 17, where he served in the South, Central, Pacific area for three years. His unit received several citations for bravery during the battle of Munda and the New Georgia group campaign. After service, he graduated from Castleton State Teachers College in Vermont and Colombia University in New York City. Dick was a proud member of American Legion Post 118. He taught emotionally disturbed children at the Boy's Home in New York. He wrote poetry, short stories and sang for the American Theater Wing in New York. He donated his time and talent to charity. He moved to New Mexico in 1978, became an avid golfer and Lobo fan. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years; by his three sons who loved him dearly; and his four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Friday, July 17, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. Burial arrangements by Direct Services, 343-8008, 4501 4th NW.

Sanchez -- Dominica Sanchez, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 1998. Mrs. Sanchez was a lifelong resident of New Mexico; she was born on July 9, 1914; a parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church. She is survived by five sons, Victor and wife, Susie, Ralph, both of Firebaugh, CA, Lawrence, Dickie, Max and wife, Lori, all of Albuquerque; four daughters, Dolores Maestas and husband, Alfonso, Dora Garcia and husband, Lawrence, both of Albuquerque, Helen Sanchez of Madera, CA, Catalina Sanchez of Santa Clara, CA; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Maria Lucero, Rita Lopez, Margaret Pena and husband, Freddie, Georgia Sena and Lenora Lopez, all of Albuquerque; one brother, Ramon Lopez also of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE, Albuquerque. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Freddie Pena, Joe Salas, Anthony Contreras Sr., Anthony Contreras Jr., Leroy Gonzales and Dickie Sanchez. Honorary bearers will be Robert Valdez, Eric Sanchez, Desi Chavarria and Jimmy Allen. For floral assistance, please call 243-5222. Sers -- Catherine Sers, 63, a resident of Melrose, LA, formerly of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 13, 1998. Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Sers; two daughters, Marie McDaniel and Sylvia LaCour of Melrose, LA; grandchildren, Dominick Metoyer, Gabriel McDaniel and Blaise LaCour; sisters, Barbara Moran of Shreveport, LA, Rose Helen Metoyer of Rogersville, TN, Agatha Severin of Chicago, IL, and JoAnn LaCour of New Orleans, LA; brothers, Joseph LaCour of Detroit, MI, James V. LaCour of Albuquerque, and Julius LaCour of New Orleans, LA. She was a retired supervisor at K-Mart in Albuquerque; was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Albuquerque for many years; a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers in Melrose, LA. Services will be held July 16 in Melrose, LA. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church Building Fund, 2262 Hwy 484, Natchez, LA 71456.

Vargas -- Mary Frances Vargas, 54, has gone to rest in peace with her Lord. Her courageous battle against cancer ended with her death on Saturday, July 11, 1998. She is survived by her spouse, Refugio (Ray) Vargas; her children, Anna Ramirez and Vince Yadao, Marie Ramirez, Antoinette and Keith Green, Julian and Debbie Vargas, Rayette Vargas, Yvette Vargas and Jose Aguilar, Cindy Vargas, Susan Vargas and Adan Rojas, and Selina Vargas; father-in-law, Refugio Vargas Sr.; special aunts, Della, Reina and Teresa; her sisters and brother, Mary Gonzales, Roberta Mondragon, Betty Moya and Joe Moya. She has 19 loving and adoring grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Rosary will be said on Thursday, July 16, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. and a memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, 1998 at 10:00 a.m., both services will be held at St. Frances Xavier Church, 800 Broadway SE, Alb., NM 87102.
