Peggy F. Henrie, 88, a native of New Mexico and resident of Albuquerque since 1938, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelynne Barnes of Taylorville, IL; son, James C. Henrie and wife, Joan of Corrales; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Adams of Glendale, AZ; brothers, J. Wade Miles and wife, Sarah of Tucumcari, Floyd Miles of Roswell, Lloyd W. Miles and wife, Betty of Belen, and Franklin E. Miles and wife, Pat of Santa Fe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, former Governor John E. Miles and Suzie C. Miles; and sister, Edna Green. Mrs. Henrie worked for the Bernalillo County Motor Vehicle Department from 1939-1941, the Atomic Energy Commission from 1948-1959, and Sandia National Labs from 1959-1971, retiring in June 1971. She was a Past matron of San Marcial #34 of the Eastern Star and also Past Worthy High Priestess of the Albuquerque White Shrine. Mrs. Henrie was a life member of Pythian Sisters and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Mrs. Henrie was a member of the Christian Church in Tucumcari. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Monroe M. Miles officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens.
