GRAY -- Dorothy Mae Gray, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 in Prescott, AZ. She is survived by her son, Larry D. Gray and wife, Linda of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Kathy Nelson and husband, Jeff of Palm Bay, FL; grandson, Larry D. Gray Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Surprise, AZ; granddaughter, Michelle Houston of Peoria, AZ; grandson, David Nelson of Tallahassee, FL; and granddaughter, Kathryn Nelson of Gainesville, FL; brother, James Bowen of Bellevue, MI; and sister, Libbie Farley of Indianapolis, IN. Dorothy is also survived by her second love, John Geibel and his family, who brought joy and happiness into her life the past 19 years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, L.D. "Dee" Gray. Dorothy was a businesswoman who took over the family business when Dee went to work at Kirtland Air Force base. After the business was sold, Dorothy was cherished by working mothers as she took care of the babies at the Kirtland Air Force Base Childcare Center for almost twenty years. Her skills and love for children was recognized with numerous awards and by grateful parents. Dee and Dorothy were instrumental in the successful move of the AA Heights Club. They were thankful for the care and support shown by many club members during difficult times. Services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007, 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the building and maintenance fund at the AA Heights Club, 8520 Marble Ave., Albuquerque, NM 87110, (505) 266-8952. STEARNS -- Dolene M. (Lee) Stearns died peacefully Thursday, May 17, 2007, at the age of 83, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, surrounded by her loving family. Lee was born in North Dakota November 6, 1923. She met her true love, Robert J. Stearns, on a neighboring farm, and the couple was married October 5, 1941, and had a daughter, Anita Carol, the following year. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army to valiantly defend his country during WWII, and in 1946 they had a son, James Robert. Lee enjoyed traveling with Bob during his service, and the family lived in Japan, Europe, and several places in the United States, but New Mexico became their home after retirement. They enjoyed traveling together for many years. Lee is survived by her husband, Maj. Robert Stearns, Ret.; daughter, Anita Valente of Albuquerque; son, James Stearns of Albuquerque and his wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Cara Compton of Albuquerque, Vic Valente of Kansas City, KS, David Valente of Alpharetta, GA, Carrie Nelson of Albuquerque, and Ginny Stearns of Honolulu, HI; six great-grandchildren who adored her; and many nieces and nephews around the country. TRUJEQUE -- Steven Andrew Trujeque, age 49, after a long battle with cancer his soul was freed Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Trujeque and brother, Dr. Lawrence Trujeque. He is survived by his children, Rachel A. Trujeque, Annalisa Trujeque, Kristine M. Trujeque and only son, Steven L. Trujeque. He was blessed with a granddaughter, Hanna Grace Sullivan. Steven is also survived by his mother, Flora Trujeque; brother, Patrick Trujeque; sisters, Pauline Proctor, Phyllis West and husband, Daniel West. Steve was a very loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend. Steve was a very good man and although his days were numbered, he accomplished many things and worked hard for them. He graduated from Highland High School and then joined the US Navy. He had a steady career as an electrician. If you knew this man, you knew the power of his heart was greater than anything. We would like to recognize his honorary pallbearers, Mike Trujeque, Kris Nelson, Danny Jaramillo, Marty Pino, Danny Allen, Bruce Connell and Mike Cisneros. We will be celebrating his life at Riverside Funeral Home on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 12:00 p.m., 225 San Mateo Blvd NE.

ZAMORA -- Manuel A. Zamora, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007. He was born January 6, 1921 in LaJunta, CO. He retired as a Master Sgt. from the U.S. Air Force. Manuel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jennie M. Montoya; his children, Linda Carin Nelson, Gregory Michael Zamora, Kathryn Ann Zamora-Levandowski, Susanna Marie Pollman, Teresa Jane Sanchez, Mark Anthony Zamora, and Emmanuel Ascisclo Zamora; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, May 14, 2007 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. STARSKY -- Karen Starsky, 66, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Karen was born October 22, 1940 the daughter of Norman A. and Hazel G. Foss Romsos in Ladysmith, WI. Karen had been a school teacher, educating our young people. She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Starsky of Albuquerque; son, Scott, of Boulder, CO; daughter, Pamela Kogan of Pacific Palisades, CA; sister, Frankie Nelson and husband, Wayne of River Falls, WI; nieces, Vicky Starsky and husband, Ron, Sandy Nelson, and Stephanie Starsky; nephews, Craig Nelson and Steve Nelson; five grandchildren; many, many friends, too many to list. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Westside Congregation, 1650 Abrazo Rd., Rio Rancho, 896-8192. MORRIS -- Grace A. "Gracie" Morris, 97, departed this life April 28, 2007 at Cheyenne Healthcare Center. She was born on March 21, 1910, in Altoona, AL, the daughter of James F. Whisenant and Armie E. (Tidwell) Whisenant. Gracie was a mortgage loan officer and retired as Assistant Vice President of the Utah Mortgage and Loan Company in Albuquerque, NM, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Cheyenne, WY, in 2001. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. Gracie was a skilled seamstress. She loved her flower garden especially her award winning roses. She was multi-talented. She could build a fence and then cook a mouth-watering pork roast and gravy. Gracie loved all animals and was a mother to everyone she met. Her love and sense of humor will be in our hearts forever. Gracie is survived by her cat, Suki; her niece, Joyce Esch; her great-niece and -nephew, Sheri and Randy Morris, all of Cheyenne; daughter-in-law, Jan Richardson, of Wichita, KS; daughter-of-heart, Lyn Nelson, of Grand Junction, CO; generations of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. Morris; her son, Lowell H. Lindle; two brothers; and four sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cheyenne with Pastor John Laughlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Grace United Methodist Church building fund at 2950 Spruce Dr., Cheyenne, WY, 82001.
