ALBEA -- Arlene Albea, 97, passed away peacefully April 27, 2007. She is survived by her sister, Lucy Lindenborn of the family home; her nieces, Kay Nance Frank and husband, Robert of Henderson, NV, Roberta Lyn Nance of Vacaville, CA, Janice Beach and husband, Pat of Davis, CA, Nancy Bactida and husband, Ken of Dubin, CA, and Lucy L. Rees and husband, Wayne of Colorado Springs, CO. She is also survived by her nephews, Eldon Reeves and wife, Melba of Palestine, TX, Charles Reeves and wife, Jean of Longview, TX, Ike Reeves and wife, Christine of Tenaha, TX, Earl Nance and wife, Susan of Chico, CA, Thomas L. Lindenborn of the family home; and cousins, Audrey Butler and Kathleen Dill of Florida and brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Robert E. Nance U.S. Air Force (Retired) of Vacaville, CA. Arlene spent all her life in civil service and most of those years at Kirtland Air Force Base in payroll. She was one of the kindest, sweetest people in the world. Miss Albea was a longtime member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. ARMITAGE -- ROGER E. A Memorial Service for Roger E. Armitage, 74, of Albuquerque, will be held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2915 E. Idaho Avenue, in Las Cruces, NM. Roger died suddenly of leukemia on April 24, 2007. Survivors include his wife, Judith Schnell; former wife, Rosalie of Las Cruces and their children, Robin Harrison (Lonnie), Ryan (Dora), Rhonda; daughter-in-law, Carlotta Medina; sisters, Creda Mae Murphy, Littleton, CO, and Betty Lou Collins, Muskegon, MI; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by son, Russell in the year 2000. Roger enjoyed life and loved his family and friends. We will miss him very much. BUMGARDNER -- Beverly June Bumgardner, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for most of her life, went home on April 28, 2007. She was born May 17, 1938 in Atlanta, GA. Preceded in death is her daughter, Leslie, and her son, Clayton; her mother, Mildred; and her grandmother, Maggie. She is survived by Frieda Valdez, her loving daughter; Johnathan Valdez, her grandson; Gorgeann Hanjaras, her cousin; Pearl, Toby, Sam and Lucy, her loving canine family. She will be missed by all those who loved her. She was a Special Education teacher at Rio Grande High School for many years and loved gardening, reading, her many close friends, and traveling. She overcame many obstacles during her lifetime and wants family and friends to celebrate the beauty of her life and the beauty of all of our lives. CASPER -- Robert F. Casper, age 85, October 8, 1921 to April 22, 2007. Mr. Casper was a veteran of World War II and retired from Sandia Labs. He was married to Sara Kresge Casper, who predeceased him. He also was married to Mickey Casper, who predeceased him. CLARK -- Nell Ogle Clark. The family of Nell Ogle Clark sorrowfully announces her death on April 20, 2007. Nell Clark was born in Enid, OK on October 25, 1929 and a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William E. Clark; and her parents. DYE -- Frances Dorsey Dye, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007. Born in Homestead, FL, Frances graduated from Stetson University and the University of Miami where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She taught in Florida public schools for 32 years before retiring and moving to Albuquerque where she worked for and retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southern Pueblos Agency. She was a member of Hoffmantown Church for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bowling Green Dye on March 29, 1976. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle of Albuquerque; and two sisters, Marian Campbell of Tampa, FL and Virginia McMichael of Albany, GA. FERRARO -- Louis "Gino" Ferraro, 63, a resident of Grants, NM, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007. Gino was born in Pozzuoli, Italy April 6, 1944. Gino came to the U.S. from the Naples, Italy area in 1965 at the age of 21. Gino is survived by his wife, Linda Ferraro; children, Cristina, Steven and wife, Maida, Jeanne and husband John, Jimmy and wife, Christina, and Lisa; grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Tyler, Monique and Nicole; his mother, Ida DeSimone; brothers, Gennaro and wife, Carmela, and Pino and wife, Pina; sister, Angela and husband, Vincenzo; parents-in-law, Doris and Bob Cope; brother-in-law, Don Combs and wife, Pat; nieces Leslie and Erin; and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy. Gino was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Ferraro. Gino was a hard worker, loved his garden and yard, was generous, a great cook, and most importantly was a wonderful dad and husband. GLAUNER -- Gar Wood Glauner, 56, a resident of Chandler, AZ the past 25 years, passed away on April 20, 2007. Gar was born in May of 1950 in Galion, OH. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Voss and her son, Jason Voss and his wife, Theresa; a daughter, Carly George and husband, Matt; a son, Lt. JG USCG Gerrod Glauner and wife, Robin and grandson, Bradley Glauner; his parents, Tommy and Ruth Glauner; a sister, Deanna and Bert Vendel of Placitas, NM; a brother, Russell and Lisa Glauner, of Cheyenne, WY; and a niece, Kristen and nephew, Zane Glauner of Fort Collins, CO. Gar was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke Lutheran Church and graduated from Sandia High School, attended UNM and served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam conflict. JIRON -- CHARLES Mr. Charles Jiron, a resident of Isleta Pueblo, passed away on April 29, 2007, after a brief illness. Mr. Jiron is survived by his wife of 67 years, Reycita Jiron; three daughters, Mary Ethel Trujillo and husband, Glenn, Elizabeth Johnson and husband, Wilbert (dec.), Mary Evelyn Jiron-Belgarde and husband, Richard LoRe; daughter-in-law, Gundi Jiron; son / grandson, Daniel Joseph Lucero; two sisters, Filomena Embry and Lillian Chavez; two brothers, Alfred Tenorio and Stanley Tenorio; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews all of whom he loved dearly. Charles touched many people; he became a friend to everyone and will always be remembered for his quick wit, humor, and loving ways. He will be greatly missed. JOHNSON -- Maurice T. Johnson, 19, was born on January 31, 1988 to Tammy Martin and Maurice Hudson in Fort Worth, TX. Shortly after his birth, he was adopted by Marvin and Linda Hopkins. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. He attended Del Norte High School, and his passion was baseball, which he played from the tender age of 3 through high school. His shoes and hats he truly loved. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Floyd Martin Keeports of Albuquerque; children, Carol E. Baird and Jane A. Keeports, both of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Matthew A. Saavedra and wife, Jessica of Bellevue, WA, Brent N. Baird of Denton, TX, Patrick N. Baird of Austin, TX, Rebecca J. Baird of Waxahachie, TX, and Kristina E. Baird and fiance, Louis Tartaglia of Albuquerque; brother, Dave M. Mitchell and wife, Geneva of Las Cruces; sister-in-law, Evelyn Mitchell of Los Alamos; nieces and nephews, Allan Mitchell, Janet Trask, Ronald Mitchell, Donald Mitchell, Joel Mitchell, Pam Herring, and Annette Mitchell, all of New Mexico; and friends, Ilene Wheeler and Joan Daut of Albuquerque. Dorie worked as a secretary at Sandia National Labs and Albuquerque Special Pre-School. She served as President of the women's auxiliary at Lovelace-Bataan Memorial Hospital and San Pedro Property Owner's Association. Dorie was a member of the Albuquerque Garden Club and enjoyed flower arranging and gardening. She was nicknamed Dody by her grandchildren who she loved and delighted in. Dorie spent many happy hours fishing with them in the lakes and streams of Northern New Mexico. She had a great appreciation for the wilderness of New Mexico and relished any opportunity to travel and explore new places. MARTIN -- Dale E. Martin, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2007. His last years were bittersweet with his Alzheimer's. Dale was born in Columbus, IN to Belva and Guernsey Martin, the first born of their 12 children. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1950. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia Germaine Hoesman Martin; his daughters, Marjorie and husband, Tom Ogden, Gale and husband, David Gillen, and Faye Montoya and fiance, Anthony Parisi; grandchildren, Joshua Sanders, Thomas Ogden, Molly Gillen, and Emmy Gillen; and eight brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark; granddaughter, Heather Sanders Padilla; and three siblings. Dale retired after 22 years with the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in 1964-1965 and chose to retire to Albuquerque because he enjoyed the scenery and the mountains. He enjoyed working at the commissary for 30 years and made many friends there. He was a member of the Church of Christ. MCELROY -- Thomas McElroy, born September 22, 1914, was a long-time resident of Las Vegas, NM. Tom was the youngest of eight children and the last remaining member of his family. He passed away peacefully on April 29, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM at the Sunrise Retirement Home. Tom is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lena McElroy; four children, Daniel McElroy and wife, Martha, of Taos, NM, Stephen McElroy and wife, Karen of Las Vegas, NM, Therese Dickey and husband, Charles of Albuquerque, NM, and John McElroy and wife, Denise of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren, Michelle, Patricia, Cheryl, Erika, Thomas, Ethan, Caitlin, Ashley, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Jon Michael, Estevan, and Sayre. Tom was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where he had been very active in church functions for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of the Elks, in which he and his family participated in many events over the years. He owned and operated Tom's Food Market for nearly 30 years. After retiring from the grocery business, he worked several years for First Federal Saving & Loan in the customer service and foreclosure departments. He enjoyed long lasting relationships with businessmen in the community that endured well into his retirement years. Tom's favorite hobby for over 30 years was his ranch in Mora County. He loved to spend his Sundays at the ranch walking the land, buying and selling cattle and visiting with neighboring land owners. Selling his ranch was harder for him than retiring. His activities became quite limited over the past 2 years, but he never lost his spirit, his sense of humor or his will to remain active. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. MORRIS -- Grace A. "Gracie" Morris, 97, departed this life April 28, 2007 at Cheyenne Healthcare Center. She was born on March 21, 1910, in Altoona, AL, the daughter of James F. Whisenant and Armie E. (Tidwell) Whisenant. Gracie was a mortgage loan officer and retired as Assistant Vice President of the Utah Mortgage and Loan Company in Albuquerque, NM, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Cheyenne, WY, in 2001. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. Gracie was a skilled seamstress. She loved her flower garden especially her award winning roses. She was multi-talented. She could build a fence and then cook a mouth-watering pork roast and gravy. Gracie loved all animals and was a mother to everyone she met. Her love and sense of humor will be in our hearts forever. Gracie is survived by her cat, Suki; her niece, Joyce Esch; her great-niece and -nephew, Sheri and Randy Morris, all of Cheyenne; daughter-in-law, Jan Richardson, of Wichita, KS; daughter-of-heart, Lyn Nelson, of Grand Junction, CO; generations of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. Morris; her son, Lowell H. Lindle; two brothers; and four sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cheyenne with Pastor John Laughlin officiating. MOSELEY -- Audrey A. Moseley, 76, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord April 28, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Glenna Hilsdorf. Audrey is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Orris H. Moseley; and daughters, Joyce and husband, Mike Sweeney of Washington; Nell and husband, Allen Prekker of Rio Rancho; Jerri and husband, Jeff Rose of Albuquerque; and grandchildren; Cole, Lydia, Jennifer, James, Orion, Jason, Juniper, Dan, John, and Ryan; and many family and friends. Audrey graduated from Albuquerque H.S. in 1948 and attended UNM. She was employed by Semens as an Electronics Technician for 20 years. She was devoted to her family. PERRIN -- JAMES BARRETT It is with deep sorrow that the Perrin family announces the passing of James Barrett Perrin on April 24, 2007. He was born in Richmond VA, November 15, 1960, and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1962. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Betty and Norman Perrin. Jimmy is survived by his siblings, Rocky and wife, Kim Perrin, Mary and husband, David Young, and Jeff Perrin. He is also survived by his nephews, Erik Perrin, D.J. Young; and niece, Kaitlin Young, all of Albuquerque. Jimmy worked in his father's business as a diesel mechanic working primarily on Mack Trucks. He loved his family and friends, all animals and Nascar. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Cremation has taken place. PICKELL -- Harry William Pickell passed away on April 25, 2007. He was born in Kansas City, KS on July 4, 1917. After serving as a Major in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, he moved to Albuquerque in 1946. He owned and operated Pic-Wik Frozen Food Distributorship until he retired in 1961. Since that time he and his wife enjoyed traveling and making new friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Velma C. ROMAN -- Edwin L.Roman, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 20 years, died peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2007. Ed was born June 2, 1921 the son of Edwin F. and Alice Berguerre Roman in East Orange, NJ. Edwin attended Purdue University and then joined the Aviation cadets, where he served in The Army Air Corps. He is a veteran of World War Two, and retired from TWA after 38 years as a pilot. Ed was a member of the Chamisa Hills County Club, an avid golfer, bridge, and poker player. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin; mother, Alice; and brother, George. Ed is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dorothy; four sons, Edwin, Michael, Robert, and Kenny; and one daughter, Bonnie; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and dear friends; and by his cherished great nephew Andrew Kowalski; and his two loving cats, Princess Leah and Luke Skywalker. ROYSTER -- Ernest Edgar "Ernie" Royster went to be with Jesus April 30, 2007 at the age of 89. Ernie was born in White City, KS, May 7, 1917. He met his sweetheart, Zelma, in the third grade and their love for each other spanned almost 83 years. They were raised in Michigan, and settled in Albuquerque in 1949. He owned Albuquerque Floor & Wall Tile Company until his retirement in 1979, whereupon, Zelma and Ernie traveled around the U.S. for many years. At 14, Ernie committed his life to Christ at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Carbondale, IL. He served in the Independent Christian Churches as an elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a charter member of the New Mexico Gun Collectors Association and served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Known as a man of integrity and kindness, he will be missed by many; actually anyone who ever met him. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1981. Ernie is survived by his wife, Zelma; sons, Ronald and his wife, Kay of Albuquerque, Thomas and his wife, Sherry of California; daughter-in-law, Libby of Florida; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Birdsall of Albuquerque; half-siblings, Margaret Armstrong of Florida and Jack Blakney of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. SAAVEDRA -- Eloyd Saavedra, 60, a resident of Albuquerque/Bibo passed away on April 27, 2007. Eloyd is the beloved husband to Erlinda Saavedra, married for 34 years. Eloyd is also survived by four sisters, Agnes Marquez and husband, Joe, Lillian Saavedra, Donna Vallejos and husband, Phillip, Irene Saavedra and husband, Joey; five brothers, Albino Saavedra, Bernie Saavedra, Pete Saavedra and wife, Louise, Joe Saavedra and wife, Roseann, Clarence Saavedra and wife, Mary; one aunt, Trinnie Lopez and husband, Cresencio; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. SCALES -- James P., "Rusty" Scales, CMSGT/AF(Ret) , 83, was born March 20, 1924 and went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2007. He was a devoted husband, father, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edith; children, James E. and wife, Sandy of Albuquerque, Ronald G. and wife, Cyndy of Tucson, AZ, Donna R. Walhood and husband, Gordon of Albuquerque, and Tina M. Lange and husband, Martin of Sarasota, FL; and daughter-in-law, Mary Scales of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard A. on November 27, 2006. Jim had a distinguished military career of 33 years which included tours of duty in Italy (WWII Army Air Corp), Korea, Thailand, Guam, Philippines, and Japan. After retiring from a second career at GE, he and his wife Edith enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family around the country. YEAST -- Warren Yeast passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born in Harrodsburg, KY, August 9, 1923, to John and Cordabelle Darling-Yeast. Warren served his country in the United States Army as a First Sergeant. He retired from the United States Army in 1972. After military retirement he worked in the trucking industry for 20 years. He is survived by his daughters, Sondra Tye and Barbara Lamonde and husband, Maurice; son, John Yeast and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Allison Tye, Trey Lamonde, PFC Cory Lamonde currently serving in Iraq, Mikael Ann Lamonde, Krista Yeast and Bryan Yeast; and great-grandchildren, Victoria and Gabrielle Tye.
