ALDERETE -- Andrew J. Alderete, 77, passed away at home Sunday, May 27, 2007, with his family at his side. Mr. Alderete is survived by his wife of 29 years, Graciela; children, Andrew Michael Alderete, Robert Mark Alderete, Mary Ann Hillary, Dorothy Denson and Carmen Alderete; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Alderete-Felt and Clorinda Garcia; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Soledad. Mr. Alderete served his country in the US Navy retiring after 30 years and was very active in numerous veterans organizations, the Optimist Club, and several other organizations. He was also a Certified Public Accountant with his own business. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. AVILA -- Isabell Avila, 49, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past nine years, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2007. A visitation for Isabell will be today, Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary, 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. CULLEN -- Kenneth A. Cullen, Jr., 70, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at his home in Albuquerque. He was born September 26, 1936, in Oak Park, IL. Mr. Cullen was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth A. Cullen, Sr., and Ruth Cullen. He graduated from Glenbard High School, Glen Ellen, IL, in 1954. Mr. Cullen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1958 and his law degree from the University of Illinois in 1965. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving as an Officer of Naval Intelligence assigned to the U.S.S. Hornet, Long Beach, CA, and Algiers Naval Station, New Orleans, LA, from 1958 to 1962. Mr. Cullen practiced law in Albuquerque for 40 years. Previously, he was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge David Chavez, New Mexico Supreme Court in 1965-1966. In 1990, Mr. Cullen was a founder of the Maid Brigade franchise in Albuquerque with Priscilla Silva and her daughter, Jo Anna Silva. The franchise is still in operation today. Mr. Cullen attended First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Marica Cullen; granddaughter, Kristin Anne Cullen, all of Springfield, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Paula Cullen, of Princeton, NJ; and several nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 4:00 p.m., at First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE, with private interment of cremated remains to be held in Peshtigo, WI. GALLEGOS -- Della Gallegos peacefully entered the Lord's Kingdom on May 27, 2007. Della was born on December 12, 1926 in Trinidad, CO to J. C. and Dolores Valdez. She is survived by one son, Ernest Gallegos and Anna Martin; three daughters, Marcella Gallegos and Robert Farris, Teri Jinzo and Shawn Hester, and Connie and Danny Gallegos; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Gallegos; daughter, Carla Salazar; granddaughters, Dominique and Michelle Gallegos; two sisters, and one brother. A life long resident of Albuquerque, Della retired from Siemens after many years of faithful service. She was a very loving and caring mother and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. GRAY -- Dorothy Mae Gray, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 in Prescott, AZ. She is survived by her son, Larry D. Gray and wife, Linda of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Kathy Nelson and husband, Jeff of Palm Bay, FL; grandson, Larry D. Gray Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Surprise, AZ; granddaughter, Michelle Houston of Peoria, AZ; grandson, David Nelson of Tallahassee, FL; and granddaughter, Kathryn Nelson of Gainesville, FL; brother, James Bowen of Bellevue, MI; and sister, Libbie Farley of Indianapolis, IN. Dorothy is also survived by her second love, John Geibel and his family, who brought joy and happiness into her life the past 19 years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, L.D. "Dee" Gray. Dorothy was a businesswoman who took over the family business when Dee went to work at Kirtland Air Force base. After the business was sold, Dorothy was cherished by working mothers as she took care of the babies at the Kirtland Air Force Base Childcare Center for almost twenty years. Her skills and love for children was recognized with numerous awards and by grateful parents. Dee and Dorothy were instrumental in the successful move of the AA Heights Club. They were thankful for the care and support shown by many club members during difficult times. Services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007, 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. MIGUEL -- Charles Napela Miguel, 58 of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home after a brief battle with cancer on May 23, 2007. He was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. As a young man, he was a decorated combat veteran during the Vietnam War. In 1977, he married Juanita Ruiz and later that year, was blessed by the birth of his only child, Nicole. He moved his small family to Albuquerque in 1978. After 19 years of dedicated service, he retired from General Electric. He then helped his son-in-law establish Cordray Electric where he took pride in his position as a warehouse manager. Charles found great joy and comfort in his new found faith in the Mormon Church. He loved the beaches in Hawaii and later fell in love with snow skiing on the mainland. He was a camera enthusiast, a trivia buff, and an avid gardener. He is survived by daughter Nicole Leimamo Cordray; son-in-law Gary Cordray; grandchildren Alexa Brooke, Ryan Kai and Dylan Kekoa; brother Jason of Honolulu; sisters Avis-Ann of Honolulu and Shirleen Johnston of Albuquerque; and former spouse and best friend, Juanita Miguel. His extended "Ohana" consists of nieces, nephews, grandnieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., at the Albuquerque West LDS Stake Center, 4500 7 Bar Loop. Visitation will be conducted one hour prior to services. MONTANO -- Jerold G. Montano, 41, died suddenly from a massive heart attack, Friday, May 25, 2007. Jerold was born in Taos, NM on April 5, 1966 to Joe and Betsy Montano. He is survived by his son, Trevor Joseph Montano of Oak Park, CA. Mr. Montano lived in California until a year ago, so he could be near his son growing up. He is also survived by his parents and his brothers, Richard Montano and wife, Pam and Chuck Montano and wife, Martha; and his nephews and nieces, Ava Grace Montano, Bryce Montano, Micalene Cleavinger, Tori Montano and Seth. Special acknowledgement to Joshua Montano and Jessica Montano, his nephew and niece, who did everything they could to keep him with us, Thank you! RESCINETO -- Brent. Born September 14, 1967, Brent went home to be with our Lord on May 25, 2007, during an unexpected complication from surgery. Brent was a Fire Inspector with the 377th Civil Engineering Division at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. Brent served his country as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force, serving in various duty assignments throughout the US and Europe, including Chevers Air Force Base, Belgium. While assigned to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, he was responsible for the security of the Supreme Commander for all Allied Troops. He insured the safety of many of America's finest fighting men and women, twice deploying the Emerants of Saudi Arabia, in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During this time, Brent was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, NATO Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Military Merit Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Service Medal, National Defense Medal and Overseas Service Medal. Brent loved working out, a great game of golf, a good cigar and cool cars. Laughing with friends and sometimes even at himself. Brent never met a meal he didn't like and the only thing that would curb his appetite was his love of shopping. He loved his dogs, Joey and Shelby and his three cats, Apollo, Rocky and Sheba. He leaves to cherish in his memory his loving wife, Mae Jeanne; his father, Lou; his mother, Sandi Smith (Richard); his brothers, Michael (Kim) and Nick (Kim); his mother and father-in-law, Mike and Corrine Garcia; his sister-in-law, Bernadette Garcia; his brother-in-law, Steve Gradl and many, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews along with countless friends from both Albuquerque and Youngstown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Lena and Charles Rescineto and Nick and Ann Prystash; his uncle, Joe Cirelli; and his caring mother, Linda Rescineto.
