Grace A. "Gracie" Morris, 97, departed this life April 28, 2007 at Cheyenne Healthcare Center. She was born on March 21, 1910, in Altoona, AL, the daughter of James F. Whisenant and Armie E. (Tidwell) Whisenant. Gracie was a mortgage loan officer and retired as Assistant Vice President of the Utah Mortgage and Loan Company in Albuquerque, NM, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Cheyenne, WY, in 2001. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. Gracie was a skilled seamstress. She loved her flower garden especially her award winning roses. She was multi-talented. She could build a fence and then cook a mouth-watering pork roast and gravy. Gracie loved all animals and was a mother to everyone she met. Her love and sense of humor will be in our hearts forever. Gracie is survived by her cat, Suki; her niece, Joyce Esch; her great-niece and -nephew, Sheri and Randy Morris, all of Cheyenne; daughter-in-law, Jan Richardson, of Wichita, KS; daughter-of-heart, Lyn Nelson, of Grand Junction, CO; generations of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. Morris; her son, Lowell H. Lindle; two brothers; and four sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cheyenne with Pastor John Laughlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Grace United Methodist Church building fund at 2950 Spruce Dr., Cheyenne, WY, 82001.
