Lucero -- George F. Lucero died peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning, March 28, 2000. In February, doctors gave George a week to ten days to live. George being the kind of man he was, decided to stay just a little while longer, in order to enjoy a few more smiles, lunches, dreams and memories with the family that loved him so much. George proudly served God through San Ignacio Church for over 25 years and will be missed. George is survived by Josephine, his wife of 57 years; his daughter, Betty; sons, George J. and wife, Gloria, Steve C. and wife, Sharon; grandsons, Steven D. and wife, Brandi and Matthew G.; granddaughter, Symone V.; great-grandchildren, Charles and Isaac, all Luceros. Rosary will be held at San Ignacio Church, 1300 Walter NE, on Friday, March 31, 2000, at 7:00 p.m., the Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, April 1, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Mt. Egenes -- Flora E. Egenes, a longtime resident of Albuquerque died Sunday, March 26, 2000, after along, extended illness, caused by the effects of deabeters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a special friend to so many. She loved to cook for her family and friends and spend time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband, Hans Egenes of Albuquerque; sons, Hans W. Egenes and wife, Cynthia and Eric P. Egenes, all of Albuquerque. She is survived by her only grandson, Nicklaus Egenes, and her only granddaughter, Kristen Egenes. Survivors also include her brothers, Hans, Paul and Kurt Poullie of Germany; and a cousin, Heniz Seimes and wife, Doris of Belen. Special friends include Gayle and David Barnook, Dietmar Pruessman, Borghild Egenes, Live Egenes, Steven Egenes, all of Albuquerque, and Margaret Estridge of Belen. A private burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association of New Mexico.

Keller -- Betty Jane Keller, 83, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Plains Regional Medical Center, Clovis, NM, while residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Portales. She is survived by her sons, Terry Grant and wife, Dot of Littleton, CO, Donald Grant and wife, Mimi of Great Falls, MT and Steven B. Grant and wife, Peggy of Thousand Oaks, CA; daughters, Merriellen Bonem and husband, Judge Bill Bonem of Portales, and Susan Grant of Arlington, VA; 28 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; step-children, Rev. Steve Keller and wife, Sue of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Ray Keller and wife, Carol of San Antonio, TX and Nancy Smith and husband, Doug of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and brother, J. Everette Brown and wife, Amelia of Ft. Pierce, FL. She was preceded in death by her husbands, CWO Harold D. Grant (US Army), and The Rev. Dr. Dwight L. Keller. Mrs. Keller was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy NE, with Pastor Don Wilson officiating. Torrez -- Mrs. Virginia A. Torrez, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, born in San Antonio, NM, passed away on March 27, 2000. Mrs. Torrez was the beloved mother of six sons, Guadalupe M. Torrez and wife, Susan, Daniel A. Torrez, Robert A. Torrez and wife, Tomasita, Steven A. Torrez, Joseph A. Torrez and Jerome A. Torrez. She is also survived by one brother, Raymond M. Armijo; eight grandchildren, Teresa, Cathy and Ramon, Robert Lee and wife, Shelly, Mark, Jeremiah, Ian, Edward and Renetta; three great-grandchildren, Julio, Keith and Jasmine; Godsons, Randy Hrubienski and Anthony Armijo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Torrez was a member of the Catholic Church, life member of the Altar Society, Blue Army, and Legion of Mary. Virginia was also a Catechism teacher for many years at Sacred Heart Church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 5:30 p.m., Deacon Tom Perez reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave. SW, with visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Moore, Celebrant. Croney -- Steven Thomas Croney, 52, passed away March 26, 2000. He was a member of Exalting Jesus Fellowship. He was preceded in death by son, Paul DuBose; and brother, Pete Croney. He is survived by wife of 22 years, Jody Croney; sons, Matt Croney of Arkansas, Pete DuBose, Phillip DuBose; grandson, Tristen; granddaughter, whom he adored, Brandi Anne and her mother, Bonnie, her grandparents, Gil and Fae Pittenger, and her aunt, Dorie and husband, Pete Pino. Green -- Lenora B. Green, 79,"Grandma", loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to heaven Saturday, March 25, 2000. She was born in Kansas, was a resident of Albuquerque for 48 years, and retired after 29 years with APS working in the cafeteria at Polk Middle School for 24 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clark C. Green of the family home; four children, sons, John L. Green and wife, Martha of Denison, TX, and Steven C. Green of Albuquerque; daughters, Barbara Marsland of Albuquerque and Beverly K. Elliot and husband, Dennis of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Veesart and brother, Don Lillibridge, both of Topeka, KS; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2000 with burial following at Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery. Fields -- Alfred F. Fields, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948 died, Wednesday, March 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lugarda, whom he married on May 13, 1955; daughters, Mary Lou O'Connor and husband, Jim of Kilauea, HI and Victoria Baca and husband, Philip of Longmont, CO; brother, Roy Fields and wife, Beverly of Lampe, MO; and grandchildren, Christina Groesbeek of Denver, CO, Deborah Beal and husband, Daniel of El Dorado Hills, CA, Crystal Ruby and husband, Erik of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nathan L. Baca of San Francisco, CA, great-grandchildren, Christie, Connor, Keely and Kayla; a nephew, Danny Garcia wife, Nellie and family. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven P. Baca; granddaughter, Nicole Goesbeek; and his sister, Etta Scraper. He worked for RCA in Indianapolis. Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946 in Artillery Communications. He worked for Sandia Labs as a Technical Administrator for Quality Control and retired March 1973. Alfred enjoyed doing preventive maintenance on cars, horseback riding, travel, and reading western novels. Leyva -- Fred: The Lord called on Fred and took him on Wednesday, March 15th. He is survived by his sons, Michael and wife, Carolyn Leyva and Mark Leyva; their mother and his former wife, Peggy; grandchildren, Melanie Cooper and Melissa Avritt; great-grandchildren, Rivkah and Mikayla Cooper his mother, Consuelo (Connie) Leyva; his sister, Mary Lou Burke; two brothers, Pete and wife, Mary Lou Leyva and Larry and wife, Gini Leyva; nephews, Steven Christakis, Tim and wife, Margaret Ann Leyva, Chris Leyva, Jason Leyva; great-nephews, Joseph Leyva, Marcus Martinez and Nicklaus Lewis; nieces, Lisa, Kimberly and Melissa Leyva, Stephanie Christakis; great-nieces, Brittaney Kestler, Lydia Gonzales and Andreana Muriel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Leyva was preceded in death by his father, Pedro B. Leyva; and sister, Lydia Levya. Fred was born on August 11, 1939. He attended Valley High School, where he was active in football, basketball and baseball, he graduated in 1958. He retired from the City and continued to work at San Felipe Casino and Sherwin Williams. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was a fun loving person, always teasing and laughing. His family and friends will greatly miss him. A Rosary will be recited on Monday evening, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Will Gonzales, Vince Garcia, Stephen Christakis, Tim Leyva, David Valdez and Joe Salazar.
