Baker -- Jesse Eugene (Gene) Baker, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died peacefully on March 16, 2000. He formerly was a 53 year-resident of Elmhurst, Illinois. He was born on December 17, 1919 in Havelock, Nebraska to Mary Emery and Arthur Baker. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Virginia Baker, their children Robert Baker, Mary Anne Giangola, and husband, Tony, grandchildren, Christopher Norton, Jessica Norton, Tanya Giangola and Troy Giangola. Gene served in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy in WWII. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Elmhurst, Illinois Fire Department after 34 years of service. He was a founder of the Illinois Professional Firefighters Assn. (IPFA) and served as its Executive Director from 1970-1992. He worked tirelessly for development of the fire service in the State of Illinois and to safeguard pension benefits for firefighters and their survivors. He also served as Executive Director of the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division from 1986-1992. He will be remembered most by family and friends for his energy, generosity, and for his devotion to his wife, Eleanor. Cryptside services will be held, Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 7500 Paseo del Norte NE. Pallbearers will be IPFA members and 10th Mountain Div. Veterans. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial donations may be made in Gene's name to the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation, Inc., 1776 So. Baudoin -- Louis P. Baudoin Sr. passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at his residence in Socorro. Born February 26, 1922 to Louis J. and Hildred Gardinier Baudoin in Claremont, MN. He lived his early years in the Chicago, IL area, where he graduated from Waukegan Township High School and attended RCA Institutes and became an Eagle Scout. In 1942, he joined the Army Air Corps (USAF) to become a pilot on the B-26 Bomber, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. He continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve until 1957. In 1950, Mr. Baudoin and his wife moved to Albuquerque, where he worked for Timpte, Inc. before becoming an Associate Senior Designer for Sandia National Laboratories. After retiring in 1975, Lou and his wife moved to Socorro, where he served as an Honorary Professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He was a member of the American Welding Society, Medical Aids Research Foundation, Kit Carson Council, Boy Scouts of America, B-26 Marauder Historical Society, Air Forces Flyers Club, Socorro Old Car Club, National Model T Club, VMCCA and the Socorro County Historical Society. He was a HAM radio operator and assisted in the design of the V.L.A. rail vehicles system. Lou and Berenyce enjoyed tours and parades in their 1925 Model Ford and overseas cruising. Lou Baudoin touched more people through his helping hands, innovation, design skills and goodwill, enabling and changing people's lives through his generosity. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Berenyce Falk Baudoin of Socorro; sons, Louis Jr. and wife, Patricia, Ali and wife, La Verne of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Lisa, Suzanne, Genevieve and Bayard; great-grandchildren, Ely Watson, Noah Watson and Max Neiberg. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 25, 11:00 a.m., at Steadman-Hall Funeral Chapel, in Socorro, with Rev. Phil Preston officiating. Final interment will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Socorro General Hospital Hospice, P.O. Box 1009, Socorro, NM 87801. Conwell -- Elizabeth Charles Conwell, age 86, died March 14, 2000. She moved to Albuquerque in 1936 from Canon, TX. Mrs. Conwell is survived by her daughters, Betty J. Ruff and husband, Ray L. of Albuquerque, Billie Ann Morrissey of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Lorraine Brown and husband, Gus of Riverside, CA, Lola Sabin of Midwest City, OK; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.C. Charles in 1959; her second husband, Neal Conwell in 1991; and her son-in-law, Robert D. Morrissey, Lt. Col. USAF (M.I.A. 1972). She had a great love for gardening, and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2000, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, march 18, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. in Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, with Larry Pierson officiating. Cruikshank -- Harold Richard (Dick) Cruikshank was born in Chicago, IL, August 27, 1922, and passed away at home on Tuesday evening, March 14, 2000 after a long illness. Dick is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 56 years; daughters, Pamela Joy Ulrich and husband, John of San Angelo, TX and Deborah Kay Loinette and husband, Michael of Dallas TX; his sister, Mrs. Norma Williams of Silverdale, WA; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hufnagel and his wife, Helen of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dick served for a year in the Colorado Civilian Conservation Corps, and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines. He was a graduate of Denver University, having attended under the GI Bill. He began his career with the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos in 1949, with later assignments in Albuquerque, San Antonio, TX, Amarillo, TX, and Burlington, IA, where he retired. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2000. (The church is located at 210 Alvarado Dr. SE). A private interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Association, 216 Truman NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 or to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Del Castillo -- Harold E. del Castillo Jr. (Buddy; Del, Grandel) passed away on March 14, 2000, in Albuquerque at La Vida Llena, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Millie; children, Ruel del Castillo and wife, Gwen, Paul del Castillo and Anita Adams and husband, Brian; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sara del Castillo, Terry Fahrenthold and husband, Hugo, Alice Jackson and husband, Sherwood, Penny Christensen and husband, Steve; brother, David del Castillo and wife, Janice; and brother-in-law, George Case. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen; and step-mother, Elizabeth; sisters, Helen Brook and Laurel Case. Buddy was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 30, 1920, where he lived for 12 years. The family moved to New Orleans for a short while before moving to Houston, TX. He was graduated from Rice Institute in 1943 with a degree in mechanical engineering and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war he settled in Southern California and worked as an air conditioning engineer. He and his wife, Millie moved to Albuquerque in 1998. There will a memorial service in the chapel at La Vida Llena, 10505 Lagrima de Oro at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care given Buddy by Amy Ladd and the nursing staff at La Vida Llena Health Care Center. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his name.

Delgado -- Adrienne Boudreau Delgado, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Monday, March 13, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Moises C. Delgado; daughters, Bonnie Wood, Patricia Hicks and husband, Bruce, all of Albuquerque and Terry Delgado Osterman and husband, Paul of Houston, TX; sons, Richard Delgado and wife, Beth of Houston, TX, Robert Delgado and wife, Evonne and James Delgado, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Diana Perry and husband, Ken, Jeremy Hicks, Emily Hicks, and Brianne Delgado, all of Albuquerque, Alan Wood of N. Hollywood, CA, Debi Stinger and husband, Devin of Tualatin, OR, Michael Bagg of San Francisco, CA, Kathryn Hurst and husband, Greg of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Ann Delgado of Houston, TX; sisters, Annabelle Greenfeldt and husband, Lester of DePere, WI, Susan Plourde of Saco, ME and Anne Nadeau and husband, Nel of Biddeford, ME; brother, William Boudreau and wife, Connie of Plantville, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Delgado met her husband of 57 years when he was stationed in Maine with the Army during WWII. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and she had a great love for the Lord. Mrs. Delgado was known for her beautiful singing voice, and sang with a charismatic prayer group. She excelled at needlework and loved arts and crafts. Dunlap -- Lorene"Lani" Manulani Dunlap, age 43, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976 died on Wednesday, March 15, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, David Dunlap; daughter, Ariel both of the family home; mother, Sarah Laa Bowers and husband, Walter of Tucumcari, NM; father, Charlie Irwin and wife, Jackie of Shady Point, OK; sisters, Cindy Naranjo and husband, Frank, Charlene Lewis, all of Albuquerque; brother, Glenn Bowers of Phoenix, AZ; five nephews, Shaun, Leon, Robbie, Neal and Joel; grandmother, Hester Lorene Irwin of Shady Point, OK. Mrs. Dunlap was of Hawaiian descent and loved music. Her middle name, Manulani, means"heavenly bird". She played the flute, loved to sing, and performed with the Gallup High School band in Europe. She was a natural leader and was very involved in charitable causes. She taught at an English camp in Hong Kong, China in 1999. She was a longtime employee of 17 years at Citibank. At the same time she continued to pursue a bachelors degree in business. She deeply loved her family and was always thinking of her daughter and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her. She deeply loved the Lord and was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Fairfax -- Juliana D. Fairfax, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972 died, Monday, March 13, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Fairfax of the family home; daughters, Michele Pettyjohn and husband, Robert of Oak Harber, WA, Charlotte Chambliss and husband, Richard of Jacksonville, FL and Jean Marie Hanke and husband, Dick of Irving, TX; sons, Eugene G. Fairfax Jr., and wife, Edna of Mexico City, Mexico and Michael R. Fairfax of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Duke City bridge club. Mrs. Fairfax enjoyed knitting and gave many of her works to various charity organizations including, UNMH newborns, Marine Christmas Drive and she also worked a booth at many crafts shows with her handmade toys. Fields -- Alfred F. Fields, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948 died, Wednesday, March 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lugarda, whom he married on May 13, 1955; daughters, Mary Lou O'Connor and husband, Jim of Kilauea, HI and Victoria Baca and husband, Philip of Longmont, CO; brother, Roy Fields and wife, Beverly of Lampe, MO; and grandchildren, Christina Groesbeek of Denver, CO, Deborah Beal and husband, Daniel of El Dorado Hills, CA, Crystal Ruby and husband, Erik of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nathan L. Baca of San Francisco, CA, great-grandchildren, Christie, Connor, Keely and Kayla; a nephew, Danny Garcia wife, Nellie and family. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven P. Baca; granddaughter, Nicole Goesbeek; and his sister, Etta Scraper. He worked for RCA in Indianapolis. Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946 in Artillery Communications. He worked for Sandia Labs as a Technical Administrator for Quality Control and retired March 1973. Alfred enjoyed doing preventive maintenance on cars, horseback riding, travel, and reading western novels. Flores -- Ms. Maria Flores, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 16, 2000. Ms. Flores was the beloved mother to Alicia Beltran and Robert Trevinol. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren, Slyvia, Bernice, Michelle, Christina, Anna, Robert Jr., Vanessa and Jamie; and six great-grandchildren. Fox -- Leona Fox, 88, a resident of Albuquerque for eight years died, Wednesday, March 15, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Dale H. Fox and wife, Luana and Gary G. Fox and wife, Evelyne, all of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brother, Irvin Tanton of Deckerville, MI; and numerous other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Fox; her son, Wallace Fox; and 11 other siblings. Mrs. Fox was one of 13 children. She owned and operated with her husband, Walters Ranch House for 13 years. She was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church in Port Huron, MI, Deaconess Board of Trustees, Pastor Care Committee and meal committee. And also a member of Wadhams Lion Club-Lioness. Green -- William Julian Green, age 67, a resident of Albuquerque for 8 years, died suddenly Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Mr. Green was born in Leaf, Mississippi to Evon and Leona Green. Mr. Green served 20 years in the United States Air Force and 20 years in the United States Border Patrol as a pilot. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Angeline; and two beloved daughters, Kathleen A. Raught and husband, William, Elizabeth A. Green, all of Albuquerque; two grandsons, John William Geier and Kevin Thomas Geier; brothers, Anthony Green of San Antonio, TX, Lloyd Green of Nashville, TN; a sister, Marguerite Scarborough of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Erasmo and Martha Garza; and numerous nephews and nieces. Bill, as he was known to his friends, loved fishing, boating and gardening, but his greatest joy was flying for the U.S. Border Patrol. Herren -- Tommie D. Herren, 85, died on March 15, 2000 in Albuquerque. She was born in Hugo, OK and moved to the Albuquerque area in 1948 with her husband, Earl A. Herren, who preceded her in death in February, 1998. She is survived by two sons, Gary E. Herren and Jim Hallmark, both of Albuquerque; a daughter, Joy Herren Lucero and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Jones -- William Thomas Jones, of Alto, New Mexico, passed away March 11, 2000 in Albuquerque. He was born on September 7, 1918 in Ft. Davis, Texas, later moving with his family to El Paso. He graduated from Austin High School, where he participated in sports and was co-captain of the football team. He attended Texas Western College (now UTEP) and later enlisted in the Air Force, served three years, and returned to Texas Western to complete his BBA degree. He married Frances Marie Autry in 1957, and she and their four children survive him, Kyle and wife, Tina of Albuquerque, Dr. Tobin Jones of Virginia, Karen and husband, Wayne Pauley of Los Angeles, and Jonel Jones of Santa Fe; grandchildren are Anthony Jones of Albuquerque and Erika Rae Pauley of Los Angeles, CA. Other surviving family members include his brother, Hudnel Jones of El Paso and nephew, Hudnel Jones III. Also niece, Jonel Jorgensen of Sacramento, CA. Bill and Frances, and their children lived in Alaska 18 years, where he was employed with Atlantic Richfield Company in Anchorage and Kenai. He retired in 1985 and moved to Ft. Davis, Texas and 1986 to Ruidoso. He spent his last ten years establishing a non-profit in Roswell called People Care, Inc. through his efforts, homes were provided for mentally ill adults who needed safe, supervised housing and care. He was a member of NAMI, and also served on the Board of Directors of Willow Terrace, Inc. which provides affordable apartments in Roswell for persons with disabilities. Bill enjoyed playing golf at Alto and Cree Meadows and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ruidoso. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Ruidoso. Bill's ashes will be buried on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the family plot in Ft. Davis, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be sent to People Care, Inc., 800 N. Richardson, Roswell, NM, 88201; or to Casa Milagro, 49 Camino Bajo, Santa Fe, NM 87505.

Martinez -- Mrs. Theresita Martinez died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 87. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Ascension Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Alejandro Martinez and her husband, Monico Martinez. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Monica Enriquez, Encarnacion Brier, Demecia Martinez, Frances Martinez, Melchor Martinez, Victor Martinez, Vicente Martinez, Lucy Sandoval and Teresa Lopez; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Martinez will be held on Saturday at the Ascension Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Mayhew -- Pamela K. McKay Mayhew, of Pensacola, passed away Friday, March 10, 2000. She was formerly of Albuquerque. Mrs. Mayhew's mother, Elmyra K. McKay, preceded her in death. Survivors include her father, Horace F. McKay Jr.; her children, Chace M. Mayhew and his wife, Jennifer, Krystina K. Mayhew, Mason Mayhew and his wife, Melanie; and granddaughter, Sydney Mayhew, all of Albuquerque. A private memorial service will be held. Merritt -- Hugh R. Merritt, 63, a resident of Albuquerque for nine years, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Marsha J. Merritt of Albuquerque; son, Michael Merritt of Albuquerque; sister, Holly Antosz of Chandler, AZ; aunt, Betty J. White of Oklahoma City, OK; and niece, Lynn Fantle and husband, Barry of Maryland. He was active in the Insurance Industry and most recently Charter Insurance Company. Mr. Merritt was a member of the Lions Club in Illinois. Montoya -- Celso Montoya, born August 17, 1904 in Cuba, NM, passed away on March 15, 2000, following an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nemesina; one son, Gilberto; one daughter, Linday; one grandson, Gerald; and four brothers, Maclovio, Manuel, Patricio and Antonio. He is survived by five children, Celso Montoya Jr. and wife, Adelina of Nogales, AZ, James Montoya and wife, Barbara of Las Vegas, NM, Helen Salazar and husband, Acasio of Cuba, NM, Mary Lou Perea and husband, Carlos of Tucumcari, NM, and Ethel Baca of Cuba, NM. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Anselmo Montoya and Albert Montoya; and two sisters, Katie McKnight and Susie Gurule. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin Baca, Tammy Salazar, Jake Salaz, Perry Montoya, Frankie Perea, and Manuel Montoya. Schulz -- Mary P. (Ship) Schulz, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Susanne Rex of Albuquerque, Vicki Evans of Dover, TN, and Sarah Devous of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Joanna Hendrichsen and Carrie Zellers, both of Albuquerque, Kathryn Hawthorne of Oklahoma, Karen Hawthorne of California and Calvin Hawthorne of Roswell; and great-grandchildren, Raven Zellers of Albuquerque, Jennifer and Carmen Hawthorne, both of California, Kristen, Jimmy, Krystal, and Sheryl Hawthorne, all of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis H. Schulz; and daughters, Carol Schulz, Sally Schulz, and Sherrill Elizabeth Hawthorne. Mrs. Schulz was born Mary Phillips Fry, in Abilene, TX on May 2, 1913, where her father, Dr. W.F. Fry was Head of Bible Chair at Hardin-Simmons University. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1930 and moved to Austin, TX, where she attended the University of Texas for two semesters. Mrs. Schulz was joined in marriage to Hollis Henry Schulz, of Austin, TX on March 7, 1935; her father, Dr. W.F. Fry, performed the ceremony. They lived in Austin and in San Antonio, TX, where her husband had a career in sports. During World War II, Mr. and Mrs. Schulz lived in Bonham and Sherman, TX. They adopted their daughter, Sherrill Elizabeth while living there. A career move with the Veterans Hospital brought the Schulz's to Albuquerque in 1950. Mrs. Schulz remained a homemaker for many years, and then began a career as a salesperson-decorator for The Maple Shoppe on Lomas Blvd. After seven years with The Maple Shoppe, Mrs. Schulz launched her own decorating-antique business,"The Country American House" on San Mateo; she later moved her business to Golden, NM. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for over 40 years, working mainly with teen and youth groups. She was a member of the Albuquerque Christian Women's Club, American Institute of Decorators, and was an active participant in local school"career days". Several local decorators are protégées of Mrs. Schulz's "Shades of Ship", (as designated by her customers). Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE. Private interment will take place next to her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Silva -- Gloria Silva, 45, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, passed away March 14, 2000. Smith -- Brian Victor Smith, 55, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2000 in Denver, Colorado. Brian was born October 7, 1944 in Johnson City, New York, the son of Erwin James and Bernice Mildred Stoker Smith. Brian grew up in Albuquerque and graduated in the first graduating class from Manzano High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of New Mexico. Brian was a life Master in Bridge and a volunteer for AARP Tax Aid Program. He had resided in Denver for the past 18 years, working for the IRS. Brian is survived by one brother, Richard Smith and wife, Sharon of Danville, CA; two sisters, Patricia Lupear and husband, Danny of Concord, CA and Maureen Forrester and husband, Terry of Rio Rancho; two nephews, Michael Smith and Erik Forrester; two nieces, Bridget Wellerstein and Dawne Forrester; and three great-nephews and two great-nieces. The graveside service for Brian will be on Saturday, March 18, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Gerry Lightwine, Pastor, officiating. Stepleton -- Sandra S. Stepleton, age 60, died unexpectedly of cancer on March 11, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Stepleton, Bonnie Stepleton and her husband, Arnold Klein and their daughter, Corrina; her son, John Stepleton and his wife, Diana and their son, Miles; brother, Ron Gould and his wife, Judy of Farmington; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer Johnson, Joanna Clark, and Michael Gould. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. She will be missed by friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Warren Walker in January 1989.
