Baca -- Joe A. Baca, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and Moriarty, passed away on March 28, 2000. Joe was born on December 19, 1944. He is survived by his wife, June of the family home; one son, Paul Baca and wife, Genieve of Chesterfield, VA; two daughters, Paulette Crider and fiancee, Dale Candelaria of Albuquerque and Laura Dimas of Aztec, NM; six grandchildren; one brother, Robert Montoya; five sisters, Ellen Lopez and husband, Raymond, Patricia Cline and husband, Jerry, Dollie Gay and husband, Harry, Frances Martinez and husband, Bill, and Linda Montoya and husband, Ed; sister-in-law, Eleanor Baca; two aunts, Betty Sandoval and husband, Louie and Catherine Ramirez and husband, Tony; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bartholomew -- Mable Bartholomew, was born in King City, Missouri, March 25, 1917. She passed away at the age of 83 on March 27, 2000. She lived in Albuquerque, the last ten years of her life. Prior to moving here, she lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. During World War II, she worked at an ammunition plant in Denver, Colorado. She is survived by her three sisters, Marthalene Steinfort of Albuquerque, Vandora Loest and Virginia Zimmerman; two brothers, Woodroa Loest and OW Loest, all of Denver; also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 1, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2000, 3:00 p.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, with Rev. Thomas V. Collins officiating. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, are in charge of arrangements. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. Till we meet again Mable, God bless you.

Bledsoe -- Paul D. Bledsoe, Master Sergeant-Retired, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 29, 2000. Paul was born in Delano, California on May 21, 1938. He is survived by his wife, Thelma J. Bledsoe; his son, Jerold L. Bledsoe; his daughter, Staci Bledsoe and granddaughter, Adria Harty. Paul was a Vietnam Veteran. He received the bronze star and meritorious service medal. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Brasher -- Born March 4, 1920 in Santa Rosa, Clarence John (C.J.) Brasher was the son of Clarence J. Brasher and Frances M. Brasher. After attending Catholic University in Washington, DC, Mr. Brasher interrupted his education to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war, Mr. Brasher continued his education at the St. Joseph's College, where he earned a Bachelors degree in economics. On September 4, 1943, Mr. Brasher married his wife, Frieda M. Brasher. They were married 56 years. He is survived by his wife; seven sons; two daughters; four brothers; one sister; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Mr. Brasher served on the board and was president of the Suicide Crisis and Prevention Center and was a lector and Eucharistic Minister of Queen of Heaven Parish. Mr. Brasher will lie in state Friday at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Queen of Heaven Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Fr. C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, at Queen of Heaven Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Carmignani -- Elisa Carmignani, 94, former longtime resident of Silver City, and a current resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on Monday, Mach 27, 2000 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Stewart Burgess, where she was lovingly cared for during her lengthy illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., today, at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Rev. Richard Olona as Celebrant. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Santa Fe at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Henry Holguin, Billy, Frank and Stephen Ogas, Craig and Jon Carmignani, John David, Jim and Joe Vasquez and Charles Albert, Albert Paul, Anthony and David Carmignani, and Joe Burgess. De Herrera -- Margaret M."GiGi" De Herrera, 48, beloved daughter, sister and friend, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 26, 2000. Margaret was born on May 29, 1951 in Santa Fe. She is survived by her loving mother, Rose Velarde and husband, Francis of Albuquerque; three brothers, Richard Eloy De Herrera, Robert De Herrera and wife, Josephine, Raul Gonzales; seven sisters, Janet Sanchez, Lucille De Herrera, Della Mora and husband, Robert, Vickie Wormie, Roberta Gonzalez and fiancee, Glen Smith, Yolanda Yanguez and husband, Florentino, and Kathy Chavez and husband, Jesus; special companion, Emily Apache, her son, Tyrone, and his son, Amadeus; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and those who knew and loved her. Friends and family may visit this evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, where a Memorial Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., this evening. Fernandez -- Jose (Joe) T. Fernandez, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Monday, March 27, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Modesta Garcia Fernandez of Albuquerque; sons, Frank Fernandez and wife, Martha, and Joe Fernandez Jr., all of Denver, CO; daughters, Tillie Sanchez and husband, Louis and Consuelo Edmister and husband, Richard, all of Albuquerque, and Loraine Sanchez and husband, Dennis of Taos, NM; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Juan Fernandez and wife, Viola of Pico Rivera, CA; sisters, Bessie Ortega and husband, Damian, Emiliana Sanchez and husband, Lydio, Viola Mejia, Alice Casados and husband, Randy, and Fidelia Vasquez and husband, Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; and fishing buddy and dear friend, Isa Baca of Albuquerque. Gaunt -- Darrell Paul"Ike" Gaunt died peacefully in his sleep early on Sunday, March 26, 2000. Ike had celebrated his 82nd birthday just two weeks previously, wrapped in the loving arms of his family who survive him, his wife of 59 years, Glendora Gaunt; his daughter, Lindalee Maisel and husband, Norman Maisel; and his daughter, Shelly Campbell and husband, David Campbell all of Albuquerque. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Karen Maisel of Colorado Springs, Heather and Damon Campbell, Lee Maisel and wife Maria, and great-grandson, Shea Maisel, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by brothers, David Gaunt of Albuquerque, Mark Gaunt and wife, Louise, Richard Gaunt and wife, Ina; sisters-in-law, Mary Gaunt and Doris Gaunt of Albuquerque; sister, Bonnie Bryan and husband, Ed; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters, Darlene and Barbara, and brothers, Charles, Edward, and Mack. Born in Wells County, Indiana March 12, 1918, Ike grew up in and around Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the fourth of ten children of Edward Lee Gaunt and Faye Davison Gaunt. In his youth, he was an accomplished fisherman and boxer. He was the 1938 Indiana State bantamweight Golden Gloves and AAU boxing champion. In 1940, he married his sweetheart Glendora Nelson, to whom he was married six months short of sixty years. He served in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater from 1943 to 1946. In 1950, the family moved to Albuquerque where Ike was with the Heights Nursery, then worked as a metallurgy specialist for ACF, Dow, and General Electric plants in Albuquerque. Ike never knew a stranger. He loved gardening, hunting, and fishing and was a very accomplished at all of them. He was a gentle and guiding hand for his children and grandchildren and took enormous pride in their accomplishments and daily activities. Cremation has taken place. A service celebrating Ike's life will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2000 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd. NE (west of Eubank), Albuquerque. Klemetti -- Vivian Lee Klemetti passed away Monday, March 27. She was 84 years old. Vivian is survived by two sisters, Violet Miller and Nancy Stegman; four daughters and one son, Eileen Bennick of Hockley, TX, Lee Klemetti of Muskegon, MI, Ann McCoy of Albuquerque, Gail Aycock of Santa Fe, and Valerie Blessley of Vancouver, WA. Vivian has 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Vivian grew up on Isle Royale, Michigan. She was one of the first women to build and operate her own Ham Radio. She and her husband, Rey, met over the airwaves (EARLY E-MAIL). The Klemetti's moved to Albuquerque in 1968. Vivian was a broker and realtor for 30 years, working for Hooten-Stahl, Re/Max, and RECA Better Homes and Gardens. She belonged to Enchanted Mesa Sweet Adeline's, East Mesa Civitans and Eastridge Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be Friday evening, March 31, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE. Funeral services will be held there April 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel. Vivian's Pastor, Jim Turner, of Eastridge Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Sandia Memorial Garden, 9500 San Pedro NE. Lucero -- George F. Lucero died peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning, March 28, 2000. In February, doctors gave George a week to ten days to live. George being the kind of man he was, decided to stay just a little while longer, in order to enjoy a few more smiles, lunches, dreams and memories with the family that loved him so much. George proudly served God through San Ignacio Church for over 25 years and will be missed. George is survived by Josephine, his wife of 57 years; his daughter, Betty; sons, George J. and wife, Gloria, Steve C. and wife, Sharon; grandsons, Steven D. and wife, Brandi and Matthew G.; granddaughter, Symone V.; great-grandchildren, Charles and Isaac, all Luceros. Mccabe -- James H. McCabe, age 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia A. McCabe of Albuquerque; three sons, Tim McCabe and wife, Sandy of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis McCabe and wife, Susie of Waukesha, WI, and Terry McCabe and wife, Sherry of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren: Brandon, Cody, Garret, Lindsey, Schuyler, Colton and Micah McCabe; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jim was born March 14, 1922 in Heartland, NY, the son of Hazel McDonald and Sylvester McCabe. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Leonard (Bud) McCabe. Jim attended the University of Alabama for two years and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, being stationed in Africa, Italy and France. After the war he began working for the New York Telephone Company then transferred from Lockport, NY to Mountain Bell in Albuquerque in 1959, to move to a drier climate for family health reasons. Jim retired from the telephone company in 1982 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His grandchildren meant a lot to him. He was known to be a jokester to those around him and he will be dearly missed. A Funeral with a Catholic scripture service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary - Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mcdevitt -- Betty Joyce McDevitt, 76, passed away on the morning of Thursday, March 29, 2000, from a 15-month battle with lung cancer. Born Bette J. Mann on November 14, 1923 to Lawrence C. and Chole V. Mann of Piggott, Arkansas, she was the second of four children. Bette made her way through the Depression, working tirelessly for the benefit of her widowed mother's family. She found success later in the employ of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, where she sold dancing contracts to 39 out of her first 40 customers. There she also met her future husband, Jack, whom she married in 1955. She became a mother of two boys, Patrick and Kevin, in 1957 and 1958, respectively. Bette was a model mother, who adored her family and showered them throughout her life with unselfish love, devotion and support. She was cherished by everyone whose lives she touched and our lives will be greatly diminished without her. She is survived by her husband of 44 years; her two sons; her brother, Robert Mann; her sister, Barbara Roberts; and three grandchildren, Wyatt, Garrett and Walker. Mcever -- Beula"B.K." LeMaster McEver, 89, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2000 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 I-40 West, and graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at Ochiltree Cemetery, Perryton, TX, with Rev. John McClean officiating both services. Mrs. McEver was born in Haskew, Oklahoma to Harold and Susie Crum. She grew up in the Perryton area, graduating from Perrtyon High School and Wichita Business College, then working as a legal secretary for many years. She married E.W."Dub" LeMaster in 1934, and they had three children. She was the first woman County and District Clerk of Ochiltree County, TX. E.W. died in 1942. In 1947, Mrs. LeMaster's married Dick McEver, living in Guymon, OK, and the relocated to Amarillo, where she was a real estate broker. After their divorce, she moved to Kentucky, Nebraska, and the returned to Texas, where she continued to sell real estate and manage properties. Mrs. McEver's was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, E.W."Dub" LeMaster; and two brothers, Norman and Martin Crum. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Kaye Oberle and husband, Larry of Amarillo; sons, Dr. Ed LeMaster of McAllen, TX and Tom LeMaster of Rio Rancho; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Batman of Lone Jack, MO and Bess Brillhart of Perryton, TX; four brothers, Joe Crum, Jack Crum, and Grover Crum, all of the Perryton area, and Ben Crum of Pueblo, CO; and brother-in-law, Jake LeMaster of Perryton. Provus -- Edward Provus passed away on March 28, 2000 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hortense in 1991, after a marriage of 62 years. Sanchez -- Manuel T. Sanchez, 98, a resident of Albuquerque for 95 years, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Clara Martinez and husband, Richard, and Gloria Sena and husband, Ralph; son, Dr. Robert Sanchez and wife, Eleanor F. Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Rick Martinez, Dan Martinez and wife, Renee, all of Albuquerque, Chuck Sena and wife, Sandy of Dallas, TX, Dr. Robert B. Sanchez and wife, Leanne, Linda Perea and husband, Michael, Dr. Gary Sanchez and wife, Julie, Dr. Greg Sanchez and wife, Kate, and Leslie Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Felicitas Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez owned Manuel's Food Market in Martineztown for over 75 years. He was an active member of the Democratic Party, serving as Bernalillo County Democratic Chairman, NM State License Distributor for Bernalillo County, and Democratic Ward Chairman for 72 years. Mr. Sanchez is acknowledged in the Library of Congress as the longest continually elected official in the United States. He was closely associated with, Governors Clyde Tingley, Tom Mabry and John Simms among others. He enjoyed horse racing, and sharing his humor with his friends. Services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Edith NE, with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Seeman and wife, Elena Edgewood, NM; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, Eugene Owen and wife, Estelle of Henderson, NV; sister-in-law, Anna Franks of Keokuk, IA; cousin, Florence Parrish of Ft. Madison, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry B. Seeman, December 2, 1985, one daughter, Nila May in 1940, one grandson, Mark Sherouse; and one brother, Glen Owen. Mrs. Seeman was a great cook and a fabulous piemaker. She loved to play bingo. Mrs. Seeman was active with the Lioness Club for the Four Hills Trailor Court, becoming president, vice president and director at various times. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and served as an ecumenical minister. Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 30, 2000, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 31, 2000, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Father Domingo Gumpal, Celebrant. Watlington -- Bernard E. (Bernie) Watlington, (Lt. Col USAF Ret.) passed away March 30, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bobbie; children, Sherry Sly and her husband, Leonard, Kimberly Menegus and her husband, Ray, Trish Wall-Watlington, Jay Watlington and his wife, Debbie, and Neal Watlington and his wife, Swarupa; eight grandchildren, Michelle Green, Jesse Sly, Jason Sly, Seth Watlington, Shjorn Watlington, Trevor Watlington, Jason Watlington, and Troy Watlington; his mother, Carrie Watlington; brother, Tom Watlington and wife, Linda; sister, Jean Webb and her husband, Henry, all of South Boston, VA. Bernie graduated from the West Point Academy in 1959 and served in the USAF for 22 years, where he worked primarily in the area of analysis and assessment of space nuclear power safety issues. He was also a voting member of the Interagency Nuclear Safety Review Panel for space nuclear power applications and terrestrial nuclear storage facilities. He then was employed by Lockhead Missiles and Space Co., as an Advanced Systems Engineer Specialist coordinating safety analysis for a major weapon system before joining Science and Engineering Associates, again consulting in the area of nuclear storage facility safety issues. Bernie then worked for Northrop Grumman as an engineer in the Electromagnetic and Radiation Effects Hardening Division in California until his death. Throughout his career as a nuclear and electrical engineer, he had the opportunities to offer significant contributions to numerous projects, consulting on such diverse projects as coordination of space station experiments to research and application of stealth technology for the development of the Stealth 117 Fighter and Stealth B-2 planes. He was an avid gardener and loved anything to do with computers. His wry sense of humor and quiet friendship will be missed by friends, co-worker and family. He was very much loved. He will lie in state at Fitzgerald and Son, Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with family available for visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Services and burial will be held in South Boston, Virginia. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of local arrangements.

Webb -- Kirk Allen Webb, 23, a resident of Hobbs, formerly of Belen, passed away on March 28, 2000. Mr. Webb was born on January 25, 1917 in Hobbs, the son of Steve and Nancy Webb of Hobbs. In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his brothers, Brent Karr of Hobbs, Ron Hipp of Salem, OR and Curt Capps of Midland, TX; sisters, Ann Gossett of Gallup, Cheryl Capps of Dallas, TX and Stephanie Webb of Mississippi; maternal grandparents, Duel and Dorothy Richardson of Hobbs; paternal grandmother, Donna Capps of Midland, TX, formerly of Belen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Austin Capps; and three brothers, Wayne, Kevin and Kenneth. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 1, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at Jefferson Street Church of Christ in Hobbs, with Mr. Virgil Webb officiating.
