George F. Lucero died peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning, March 28, 2000. In February, doctors gave George a week to ten days to live. George being the kind of man he was, decided to stay just a little while longer, in order to enjoy a few more smiles, lunches, dreams and memories with the family that loved him so much. George proudly served God through San Ignacio Church for over 25 years and will be missed. George is survived by Josephine, his wife of 57 years; his daughter, Betty; sons, George J. and wife, Gloria, Steve C. and wife, Sharon; grandsons, Steven D. and wife, Brandi and Matthew G.; granddaughter, Symone V.; great-grandchildren, Charles and Isaac, all Luceros. Rosary will be held at San Ignacio Church, 1300 Walter NE, on Friday, March 31, 2000, at 7:00 p.m., the Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, April 1, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. You are welcome to join us at the family home following the funeral to celebrate George's life.
