Obituary for Fields

Alfred F. Fields, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948 died, Wednesday, March 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lugarda, whom he married on May 13, 1955; daughters, Mary Lou O'Connor and husband, Jim of Kilauea, HI and Victoria Baca and husband, Philip of Longmont, CO; brother, Roy Fields and wife, Beverly of Lampe, MO; and grandchildren, Christina Groesbeek of Denver, CO, Deborah Beal and husband, Daniel of El Dorado Hills, CA, Crystal Ruby and husband, Erik of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nathan L. Baca of San Francisco, CA, great-grandchildren, Christie, Connor, Keely and Kayla; a nephew, Danny Garcia wife, Nellie and family. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven P. Baca; granddaughter, Nicole Goesbeek; and his sister, Etta Scraper. He worked for RCA in Indianapolis. Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1946 in Artillery Communications. He worked for Sandia Labs as a Technical Administrator for Quality Control and retired March 1973. Alfred enjoyed doing preventive maintenance on cars, horseback riding, travel, and reading western novels. Rosary will be recited Friday, 5:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2610 Utah NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. NE.
