Garcia -- Dan G. Garcia, 86, passed away Monday, January 27, 2003, after a brief illness. He was born in Bernalillo, August 12, 1916 and grew up in San Ysidro. Dan worked in the Naval Shipyards in California during WWII, then returned to Albuquerque after the war to raise his family. He was employed by ACF and retired from General Electric in 1981. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Laura V. Garcia; his daughters, Pauline Breidenbach and husband, Tony, Linda Gallegos and husband, Herald, and Virginia McIntyre; and by his son, Dan R. Garcia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Gallegos. He was an active member of the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Community. Dans family was foremost in his life and his greatest achievement in life was his ability to spread love and kindness to whomever he met.. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd. NE, with Deacon Lloyd Martinez. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 30, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., also at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, with Father Albert Podvin, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher McIntyre, Michael Breidenbach, Shawn Connell, Adam Scott, Frank M. Gutierrez, and Michael Garcia Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Herald Gallegos, Tony Breidenbach, Frank L. Gutierrez, Pat Vigil, Mike Garcia, H.B. Gallegos and Jeff Garcia. Sanchez -- Reuben"Tito" Sanchez Sr., was born in Abuquerque on September 4,1924 and passed away at age 78 on January 27, 2003. A Veteran of WWII he served with the 71st Infantry Division in Europe. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Raquel Consuelo. He is survived by Teresa his wife of 56 years; and his children, Julia De La Cruz and her husband, Vince, Reuben Sanchez Jr., and Cathy Sanchez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Gallegos, Julie Velazquez and her husband Robert, Richard Sanchez and his wife, Janet, Paul Sanchez-Torrez, Chris Sanchez-Torrez and his great-grandchildren, Michael Gallegos Jr., Roman and Olivia Velazquez and Jayden and Jordan Sanchez. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 833 Arizona SE with Fr. Thomas Mayefske celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Cooper -- Ursula V. Cooper, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Sunday, January 19, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Rexford M. Cooper; daughters, Sandra Coyer and Cynthia Gallegos and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Ron and Ray Gallegos, all of Albuquerque, Bonnie and husband, Cyrus of California and Laura and husband, James of Washington; and Ursula's sister, Barbara Tosch and husband, Don of Oregon. Ursula received her Masters Degree in Education at the University of Oregon. She taught school for 25 years in numerous states including California, Georgia, Oregon and Texas, as well as, Germany and retired from A.P.S. Ursula was a member of A.A.U.W. and a member of the Old Glass Club, which she loved. She was a volunteer at the Museum of Natural History in the Education department, and was a published author. Ursula loved the ocean and the desert and taking long walks on both. She and her husband enjoyed playing contract bridge, which they did during their world travels. A Graveside Service was held Friday, January 24, 2003 at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 8100 Mountain Rd. Garcia -- Rose M. Garcia, age 89, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Thursday, January 23, 2003. Rose was a resident of Albuquerque; and a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving children, Roberto Bobby Perea and wife Dorela of San Antonito, NM, Danny Perea and wife, Augustina of Corrales, NM, Eusebio Perea and wife, Betty, Frank Perea and wife Ruth, Tony Perea and wife Bertha, Pauline Trujillo and husband, David, Linda Carrillo and husband Danny Ray, Isabel Gallegos and husband, Paul, and Maxine Contreras; 39 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Theresa Chaves, family members and friends who helped care for our beloved mother. Rose will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Gallegos -- Felipe Gallegos, 75, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2003. Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Parras -- Anthony Raymond Parras, born August 25, 1951, was called to be with the Lord on January 19, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Sr. and Flora Parras. Anthony is survived by his loving children, Marlene Griego and husband Cindo, Denise Parras, Carlos, Nicole and Samantha Parras; two grandchildren, Rayanna Griego and Marissa Parras; three brothers, Cecilio Ortiz of Hayward, CA., Gilbert Parras Jr. and wife, Jane, Joe Parras and wife, Bonnie; four sisters, Angie Garcia and husband, Cipriano, Terri Casias and husband, Johnny, Rosemary Hernandez and husband, Henry, Christina Gallegos and husband, Joey, and Gerri Lovato and husband, Tony; several other relatives and friends. Gallegos -- Mr. Ivan J. Gallegos, 36, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 18, 2003. Ivan is survived by his father, Alfonso L. Gallegos and wife, Geraldine; one sister, Yolanda Ruiz and husband, Marcello; three brothers, Isaac Gallegos and wife, Ramona, Alfonso Gallegos Jr. and wife, Linda, Ernest Martinez and wife, Tracy; grandmother, Eufelia Gallegos; grandfather, Ben Baca; one niece, Breanna Ruiz; one nephew, Justin Gutierrez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ivan is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret O. Gallegos and his grandfather, Cipriano Gallegos. Ivan was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed playing his guitar along with hot rods and cars.
