Barela -- Mr. Jose (Pa) Barela, 65, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on January 25, 2003. Mr. Barela is survived by one son, Joey P. Barela and wife, Yolanda; three daughters, Cynthia M. Baca and husband, Mike, Genevieve R. Barela and Marvin Monroy, Debbie A. Pohl and Arthur; three sisters, Helen Perez and husband, Frank, Yolanda Alderete and husband, Paul, Mary Mora and husband, Bernie; four brothers, Felix Barela and wife, Lillian, Leroy Barela, Juan Barela and wife, Sylvia, Orlando Barela and wife, Marcella; his grandchildren, Mike, David, Manuel, Chantelle, Michael, Benny Joe, Gabriel, Amber, Joey Jr. and Jason; his great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Janae; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him. Visitation will be Tuesday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Louisa Padilla. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Carson -- Loyas H. Carson, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2003. Loyas was born October 9, 1915 the daughter of Luther A. and Effie Owsley Hendon in Afton, Missouri. She loved gardening and the outdoors. Loyas is survived by two daughters, Dixie Berry and husband, Curtis of Mountainair, NM, and Bonnie Jean Featherstone and husband, Jack of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Chadsey -- Earl Erskine Chadsey, Jr. of Sudbury and Ashland, MA died on January 24, 2003. Beloved husband of the late Ida (Snow); devoted father of David E. Dietrich -- Marion B. Dietrich, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, January 18, 2003. She is survived by her nieces, Gretchen M. Estrada -- Ruth A. Estrada, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, began her journey home Thursday, January 23, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Estrada of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Rita Sheley and husband, Butch of Mississippi and Laura Blanton and husband, Tom of Wyoming; grandson, Ricky Estrada and wife, Karen of Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Samantha and Mary; and great-grandsons, Corbin, Jason and Justin. Mrs. Estrada was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Clayton in 1992; son, Larry in 1996; sister, Charlotte; and two brothers, Buddy and Harry. She loved working in her pride and joy, her garden. Mrs. Estrada enjoyed having family and friends in her home. She loved doing for others and many loved her dearly. Garcia -- Dan G. Garcia, 86, passed away Monday, January 27, 2003, after a brief illness. He was born in Bernalillo, August 12, 1916 and grew up in San Ysidro. Dan worked in the Naval Shipyards in California during WWII, then returned to Albuquerque after the war to raise his family. He was employed by ACF and retired from General Electric in 1981. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Laura V. Garcia; his daughters, Pauline Breidenbach and husband, Tony, Linda Gallegos and husband, Herald, and Virginia McIntyre; and by his son, Dan R. Garcia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Gallegos. He was an active member of the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Community. Dans family was foremost in his life and his greatest achievement in life was his ability to spread love and kindness to whomever he met.. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd. NE, with Deacon Lloyd Martinez. Gutierrez -- Mr. Pedro (Pete) Gutierrez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2003 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Pete was born on June 18, 1932 to Jose and Maria Gutierrez. Pete is the beloved husband of 46 years to Mrs. Mary Alice Gutierrez. Pete is also survived by one son, Michael (Mike) Gutierrez and wife,Tina; his precious grandchildren, Kristy Lynn, Matthew Christopher, and Taylor Renee; one great-granddaughter, Selena; a brother-in-law, Rafael Herrera; two brothers, Max Gutierrez and wife, Mary Ann, Albert Gutierrez and wife Marlene; three sisters, Viola Jojola and husband, Jim, Vickie Vallejos and husband, Joe, Alice Sutton and husband, Alan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Geraldine Ann; and his in-laws, Cristoval and Olivia Satarain Herrera. Pete was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Hutchins -- Marjory V. Hutchins, 80, died January 26, 2003 in Albuquerque. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1956 and was a former resident of Michigan. She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Jerry; daughter, Janice; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Jacquez -- Timoteo Jacquez, age 90, a lifelong resident of Gallina and presently of Albuquerque, passed away early Monday morning in the family home in Albuquerque. Timoteo was retired after many years of employment with Duke City Lumber Company and Santa Fe National Forest Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvira Jacquez; his parents, Juan Ignacio and Francisquita Jacquez; two brothers, Max and Antonio Jacquez; three sisters, Ramona Jacquez, Audelia Duran and Pablita Sanchez. He is survived by two sons, Vidal Jacquez and wife. Margaret of San Jose, California, Gilbert Jacquez and wife. Leora of Albuquerque; three daughters, Dolores Jacquez and husband. Ralph Leyba, Leora Lucero and husband, Chris of Albuquerque and Cathy Serrano and husband, Antonio of Gallina; one brother, Eliseo Jacquez and wife, Eufemia of Gallina; two sisters, Bertha Arellano and husband, Jake of Gallina and Lucy Casaus of Cuba; ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. Koester -- Dwain A. Koester was born in Wolsey, SD, on August 1, 1925 and attended Brookings High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Julia A. Eberle in 1944. From there they produced two surviving children, son, Charles W. Koester and daughter, Barbara J. Chism. Dwain was a Veteran of WWII a Master Mason and a member of the Tall Cedars under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota. He was also a builder of new churches. He was a wonderful dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law and friend. Lefever -- Sarah Marie, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 16, 2003, at the age of 82. A registered nurse during World War II, she is survived by her son, Jon White of Las Vegas, Nevada. Llewellyn -- Harry Llewellyn, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, January 23, 2003. He was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1917; he came and fell in love with New Mexico in 1950 and became a permanent resident of Albuquerque since 1959. Mr. Llewellyn served in the HQ 12th Air Force during WWII. He served overseas in North Africa and Italy from 1942 through 1945. During the war he received two Bronze Stars and the American Defense Service Medal. After returning from the war he attended the John Herron Art School at Indiana University where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1949. Mr. Llewellyn moved to Taos, NM in 1950 and worked as an artist and sign painter until 1952. He met Patty Smith in 1956 in Indianapolis and they were married that same year. He returned with his family to New Mexico in 1959. He worked as a structural sign contractor from 1959 until 1997. Mr. Llewellyn helped design several of the radio towers on the Crest. He loved cooking, fishing, the outdoors, and had a great appreciation of the art of living. Because of his love of football, in his spare time, Mr. Llewellyn coached Young American Football for over 30 years. He belonged to Temple Lodge #6 A.F. and A.M., the Scottish Rite, and the Ballut Abyad Temple of New Mexico. He also was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club B.O.E.P. and the VFW. Mr. Llewellyn is survived by his wife, Patty Llewellyn; his son, Mark and his wife, Diana; and two grandchildren, Rhys and Trent. Lovett -- Daniel Bruce Lovett was born and grew up in Larned, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Kansas State University in Manhattan. Mr. Lovett served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII, and he received additional training at Oregon State, Corvallis. After receiving his first degree, Mr. Lovett was employed at the Naval Weapon Station at Inyokern, CA. After receiving his M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, he went to work at the Hanford Reactor in Richland, Washington, with the Nuclear Division of General Electric. Mr. Lovett was later transferred by G.E. to the Vallecitos Nuclear Research site in Pleasanton, California. While there, he and his wife, B. Joyce Lovett, raised two children in Danville, CA. Dan Lovett will be remembered for his love of his family, his unquenchable curiosity, his sense of humor, and his involvement in theatre organ, astronomical, and locomotive societies. Dan Lovett is survived by his wife of 50 years; two children; and five grandchildren. A small, private, family gathering will be held at a later date. Maestas -- Macario J. Maestas, 83, passed away Monday, January 26, 2003. A native New Mexican, he served in the US. Army during WWII, having received a Purple Heart. Romero -- Fidel G. Romero was received into the arms of our Lord on January 25, 2003. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Adelina G. Romero, also his wife of 43 years Amalia Romero. A beloved father, husband, son, grandfather, father in law and great grand father. He served in the US Army and is a veteran of World War II, and received an honorable discharge. He retired from Ed Blacks Chevrolet Center after 44 years of hard work as a Tow Truck driver, often being on call 24 hours a day. He will be missed tremendously although our hearts are broken he is at peace, no more suffering no more pain just eternal life. We will all wait for the day when we will see him again. His love that he had for his family was a special love. Always there to help in any way he could. We will carry his love and his memory every day or our lives. He is survived by his eight children. Sanchez -- Reuben"Tito" Sanchez Sr., was born in Abuquerque on September 4,1924 and passed away at age 78 on January 27, 2003. A Veteran of WWII he served with the 71st Infantry Division in Europe. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Raquel Consuelo. Suttles -- Orville T. Suttles, 88, died January 22, 2003, in Albuquerque. He had been a longtime resident of California and was a retired professional golfer. He was the son of Everett F. Suttles and Olla Gertrude. He is survived by his wife, Lena Ellen Suttles; sisters-in-law, Ruth E. Wright and Carmen Bryant; nephews, Gene F. Rice and wife, Ruth E. G. Rice, Jerry Rice and wife, Cheryl Rice; nieces Ruth Ann Saavedra and Mary Kay Johnson. The Visitation for Orville will be today, Tuesday, January 28, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park."To my Honey, it's been difficult not having you around this past year. I will miss you more and more each day. You had a heart of gold.
