Reuben"Tito" Sanchez Sr., was born in Abuquerque on September 4,1924 and passed away at age 78 on January 27, 2003. A Veteran of WWII he served with the 71st Infantry Division in Europe. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Raquel Consuelo. He is survived by Teresa his wife of 56 years; and his children, Julia De La Cruz and her husband, Vince, Reuben Sanchez Jr., and Cathy Sanchez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Gallegos, Julie Velazquez and her husband Robert, Richard Sanchez and his wife, Janet, Paul Sanchez-Torrez, Chris Sanchez-Torrez and his great-grandchildren, Michael Gallegos Jr., Roman and Olivia Velazquez and Jayden and Jordan Sanchez. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 833 Arizona SE with Fr. Thomas Mayefske celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
