URIAS -- David D. Urias, Sr., 57, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 23, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Estella Urias of Albuquerque; daughter, Gina Urias-Sandoval and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; son, David Herrera Urias and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque; son, Robert Urias of Seattle, WA; sister, Pilar Urias of Van Horn, TX; brother, Manuel D. Urias, Sr. and wife, Socorro of Van Horn, TX; four grandsons, Gregory Patrick Sandoval, Nicholas David Sandoval, Cristobal Miguel Urias and Gabriel Santiago Urias. David is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews including Michael Juarez Aguilar, who was like a son to him. He was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW with the Legion of Mary, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Frank Prieto, celebrant. Pallbearers will be Antonio Aguilar, Lorenzo Aguilar, Guadalupe Ramirez, Jr., Ismael Ramirez, Manuel Urias, Jr., Carlos Urias, Alberto Urias, Johnny Urias and his Godson, Jesus Miguel Campuzano. David left this world after battling a lengthy illness, but his loving and courageous spirit will never be forgotten. GALLEGOS -- Celina B. Gallegos, age 71, a former resident of La Madera died Monday, September 22, 2003 in Albuquerque. She was born on May 11, 1932 in Taos, NM; daughter of Serafin and Rosario Brito. She married Jose Delio Gallegos on January 18, 1949 and had six children. Celina was a former postmaster in La Madera and along with her husband, owned and operated La Madera and was an Auxiliary at the Morada of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in La Madera. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Delio Gallegos; brother, Antonio "Tony": Brito; and sister, Lydia Lemos; parents, Serafin and Rosario Brito; great-granddaughter, Gabriela. She is survived by six children, Jane Garcia and husband, David, Jerry Gallegos and wife, Prescilla, Joseph Gallegos and wife, Carolyn, Charles Gallegos and wife, Anita, Charlene Trujillo and husband, Mariano, Annette Trujillo and companion, Manuel Garcia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by brothers, Clifford Brito and wife, Emily, Rudy Brito and wife, Bessie, and Bernie Brito and wife, Emily. She is also survived by special cousins and caregivers, Marina and Johnny Trujillo and family. She also had many other relatives and friends. She was raised as a newborn by her aunt, Tina Duran, deceased, and was blessed with other brothers, and sisters, Bernie, Bob, Lorraine, Lilly, Alicia and Teresa. She was also raised with cousins, Fred and Jake Brito, deceased. Other survivors include brothers, and sisters-in-law, Simon, Eleuterio, Esther, Fabiola, David and Ernest Gallegos. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A second Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the La Morada in La Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the La Morada in La Madera with interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The follow will be serving as pallbearers, Kenny Eljuri, Chris Gallegos, Ronnie Gallegos, Greg Gallegos, Alan Garcia and Jason Trujillo. MONTANO -- Mr. Eugenio C. Montano, 85, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 22, 2003 was born in San Mateo, NM in 1918 where he developed his interest in cattle ranching, a vocation he enjoyed most of his life and until recently assisted his son, Edward with his own cattle business. He was employed and retired from Sandia Corporation where he held a sensitive position within the transportation division. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII with tours of duty in India, Burma, and China Theater. He was attached to the Air Transport Command and served from 1941 until 1946. Eugenio had an excellent military and civilian career, but his love for the outdoors and in particular, being an "All American Cowboy" was his passion. He will be missed by his family and friends. Mr. Montano is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Lisa; two daughters, Cecelia Montoya and husband, Gilbert, Margie Cifuni; two sons, Jake Montano and wife, Jennifer, and Edward Montano; one sister, Esther Benner and husband, Lester; four grandchildren, James and wife, Helanda, Evan, Mario and Dominic; two great-grandchildren, Demar and Pierre; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Montano was a member of the El Buen Samaritano Untied Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. by Pastor Jesus Bermudez and Deacon Max Cisneros. Final visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 12:00 noon until 12:30 p.m. at the El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church, 700 Granite NW with a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. by Deacon Max Cisneros. CASAUS -- Aurora M. Casaus, age 90, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Thursday, September 18, 2003. Aurora was a resident of Albuquerque formerly of Cuba, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband Ponciano Casaus; and a son, Johnny Casaus. Aurora is survived by her loving children, Rosie Casaus, Tita Gutierrez, Angie Casaus, and Arthur Casaus; twelve grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister Eloisa Gutierrez. Aurora will be greatly missed by her loving family. Aurora will lie in state Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM A rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. also at the church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetey. SILVA -- Piedad B. Silva, born in La Joya in November 1924 and resided in Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord at age 78, on September 17, 2003 after a long illness. She was preceded by her son, Johnny; her husband, John Silva; and brothers, Jerry and Tomas Baca. Piedad is survived by her son, Tomas Silva and wife, Vickie of Alameda; daughter, Janet of Albuquerque; brothers, George and Rudy Baca; sisters, Elia Homer and Elma Sanchez; grandchildren, Isidro and Victor Serda, Diane Watkins, John Silva, Debbie Gomez, Cyndi Corey; and 14 great-grandchildren. May Piedad rest in Peace. Funeral Services for Mrs. Silva will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at El Buen Samaritano Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. SANCHEZ -- Mrs. Emma Candelaria Sanchez, 94, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 16, 2003 at home with her loving daughter, Mary Lou, at her side. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by three daughters, Emily Martinez and husband. Johnny, Rosie Serna and Mary Lou Saavedra and husband, Felix; five sons, Charles Sanchez and wife, Dolores, Willie Sanchez and wife, Josephine, Eusebio Sanchez Jr., Paul Sanchez and wife, Patricia, Johnny Sanchez and wife, Sandra; one brother, Epifanio Candelaria; 37 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; special niece, Frances Gonzales; Special granddaughter, Evelyn Costales; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Eusebio Sanchez Sr.; her daughter, Lucy Tafoya; her grandsons, Willie Sanchez Jr. and Victor Anaya; and her son in law, Eloy Serna. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart League, a pioneer of the San Jose Community, was an avid bingo player and had a great sense of humor. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Herman Flores. LOVE -- John William Love 1925-2003, 78, a resident of Mid-Valley Air Park in Los Lunas, NM passed away from this earth to be with the Lord at 5:46 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003. He was a very generous and loving man and was loved by all who knew him. He loved his Lord, his dear wife, Eleanor, and his family with all of his tender heart. For more than 40 years, he was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Belen. He had been the owner of Love Electric for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and during the Korean War. President Harry S. Truman wrote him a letter of commendation for his services during those two wars. He was an avid reader and consumed novels at a rapid rate. His favorites, of course, were westerns and science. John was so fascinated by flight that he attained his pilots license. His special joy was to soar the heavens. He also loved to play the fiddle.John was preceded in death by his father, John Leman Love; his mother, Mary Ann Graham Love; and his brother, Harry Henington. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Lake Love; his daughter, Laura Love Griffith of Los Lunas; and his two sons, Ralph of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and Johnny of Los Lunas. He also has two brothers, Graham Henington of Belen and Jack Love of Sandia Park. He was the extremely proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, James, John G., Jennifer, Julia, Joni, Miriam, Martha, Deborah and Hannah. He had equal pride in his eight great-grandchildren, Allen, Ansel, Dade, Ana, Jaden, Amber, Jonathon and Jessie James. One of the last things that left Johns mouth was this: Its painful when it ends, but Im glad I had this dance, and Im glad it was with Eleanor. Johns family and friends will say their farewells to him at the First Baptist Church of Belen at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. He will be interred at the Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen. Pallbearers will be Cecil Chance, Richard Gutierrez, Harold Crump, Truitt Stanford, Fred Valdez, Vern Mullins, Randy Misener, and Bud Stone. RUIZ -- Tom Ruiz died Tuesday, September 16, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 67. Mr. Ruiz is preceded in death by Freddy Ruiz. He was a great father who will be truly missed. Mr. Ruiz is survived by his wife, Mary Ruiz; sons, Peter Ruiz and wife, Cynthia, Antonio Ruiz, Johnny Ruiz and Billy Ruiz; brother, Juan Ruiz; sisters, Frances Garcia and Ruth Romero; grandsons, Thomas Ruiz and Michael Saiz; his only aunt, Aunt Ferro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
