LOVE -- John William Love 1925-2003, 78, a resident of Mid-Valley Air Park in Los Lunas, NM passed away from this earth to be with the Lord at 5:46 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003. He was a very generous and loving man and was loved by all who knew him. He loved his Lord, his dear wife, Eleanor, and his family with all of his tender heart. For more than 40 years, he was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Belen. He had been the owner of Love Electric for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and during the Korean War. President Harry S. Truman wrote him a letter of commendation for his services during those two wars. He was an avid reader and consumed novels at a rapid rate. His favorites, of course, were westerns and science. John was so fascinated by flight that he attained his pilots license. His special joy was to soar the heavens. He also loved to play the fiddle.John was preceded in death by his father, John Leman Love; his mother, Mary Ann Graham Love; and his brother, Harry Henington. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Lake Love; his daughter, Laura Love Griffith of Los Lunas; and his two sons, Ralph of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and Johnny of Los Lunas. He also has two brothers, Graham Henington of Belen and Jack Love of Sandia Park. He was the extremely proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, James, John G., Jennifer, Julia, Joni, Miriam, Martha, Deborah and Hannah. He had equal pride in his eight great-grandchildren, Allen, Ansel, Dade, Ana, Jaden, Amber, Jonathon and Jessie James. One of the last things that left Johns mouth was this: Its painful when it ends, but Im glad I had this dance, and Im glad it was with Eleanor. Johns family and friends will say their farewells to him at the First Baptist Church of Belen at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. He will be interred at the Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen. Pallbearers will be Cecil Chance, Richard Gutierrez, Harold Crump, Truitt Stanford, Fred Valdez, Vern Mullins, Randy Misener, and Bud Stone.
