SILVA -- Piedad B. Silva, born in La Joya in November 1924 and resided in Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord at age 78, on September 17, 2003 after a long illness. She was preceded by her son, Johnny; her husband, John Silva; and brothers, Jerry and Tomas Baca. Piedad is survived by her son, Tomas Silva and wife, Vickie of Alameda; daughter, Janet of Albuquerque; brothers, George and Rudy Baca; sisters, Elia Homer and Elma Sanchez; grandchildren, Isidro and Victor Serda, Diane Watkins, John Silva, Debbie Gomez, Cyndi Corey; and 14 great-grandchildren. May Piedad rest in Peace. Funeral Services for Mrs. Silva will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at El Buen Samaritano Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Silva, Isidro Serda, Victor Serda, Johnny Baca, Roland Baca and Chris Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Bailey and Randy Sanchez.
