GALLEGOS -- Celina B. Gallegos, age 71, a former resident of La Madera died Monday, September 22, 2003 in Albuquerque. She was born on May 11, 1932 in Taos, NM; daughter of Serafin and Rosario Brito. She married Jose Delio Gallegos on January 18, 1949 and had six children. Celina was a former postmaster in La Madera and along with her husband, owned and operated La Madera and was an Auxiliary at the Morada of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in La Madera. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Delio Gallegos; brother, Antonio "Tony": Brito; and sister, Lydia Lemos; parents, Serafin and Rosario Brito; great-granddaughter, Gabriela. She is survived by six children, Jane Garcia and husband, David, Jerry Gallegos and wife, Prescilla, Joseph Gallegos and wife, Carolyn, Charles Gallegos and wife, Anita, Charlene Trujillo and husband, Mariano, Annette Trujillo and companion, Manuel Garcia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by brothers, Clifford Brito and wife, Emily, Rudy Brito and wife, Bessie, and Bernie Brito and wife, Emily. She is also survived by special cousins and caregivers, Marina and Johnny Trujillo and family. She also had many other relatives and friends. She was raised as a newborn by her aunt, Tina Duran, deceased, and was blessed with other brothers, and sisters, Bernie, Bob, Lorraine, Lilly, Alicia and Teresa. She was also raised with cousins, Fred and Jake Brito, deceased. Other survivors include brothers, and sisters-in-law, Simon, Eleuterio, Esther, Fabiola, David and Ernest Gallegos. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A second Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the La Morada in La Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the La Morada in La Madera with interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The follow will be serving as pallbearers, Kenny Eljuri, Chris Gallegos, Ronnie Gallegos, Greg Gallegos, Alan Garcia and Jason Trujillo.
