SANCHEZ -- Raymond James "Jimmy" Sanchez. On September 5, 2004 our Heavenly Father called Raymond home. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Jenny Sanchez; brother, Alex Sanchez; and half-sister, Anita Maldonado. He is survived by the mother of his children, Theresa "Terri" Sanchez; son, Dennis Sanchez; daughters, Denise and Dee Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Joshua Sanchez of Albuquerque and Jonathon Ramsey of Florida; special aunt, Peggy Duran; step-mother, Margaret Sanchez; step-sister, Dolores; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; companion and friend, Lillian Gallegos and family. Raymond proudly served in the United States Air Force and the New Mexico National Guard. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories and was a member of the American Legion. Raymond loved to fish and always had some project or another in the making. He loved his pups, especially his "Buddy Boy." Raymond was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Those who knew him will truly miss him. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez, Mark Ortega, James Otero, Monica Sanchez, and Doug Gilreath. SAIZ -- Norma J. Saiz, 41, was born on Saturday, June 29, 1963 and passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2004. Her smile brightened the room. Her laugh was contagious. When she loved you, you definitely knew it. Norma was many things to many people, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend. She lived life like many only dreamed, to the fullest. She is survived by her husband, Pat Johnson; daughters, Yolanda Saiz and Ashley Salas; step-daughters, Christa Lowe and husband, Alton and Kimberly Tibbs and husband, Lyn; grandchildren, Chaylyn, Dalton and Samuel Tibbs; mother, Petrita Saiz; sisters, Patsy Garcia and husband, Ben, Dorella Beeson and husband, Dee, Nancy Trujillo, Barbara Rivera, Darlene Archuleta and husband, Henry, Yvonne Gallegos and husband, Marc; brothers, Jackie Saiz, Bryan Saiz and wife, Olivia and Jimmy Saiz; and numerous nieces and nephews. GUTIERREZ -- Rose Gutierrez, 74, a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM, died on August 22, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Gutierrez, formerly of Cuba; two sons, Waldo Gutierrez of Rio Rancho and Gary Gutierrez and wife, Elaine of Albuquerque; three daughters, Joann Baca and husband, Ray of Bernalillo, Sally Maestas of Albuquerque, and Kelly Garcia of Rio Rancho; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Romie Martinez of Cuba, Dora Chavez of Kingman, AZ, Sadie Moore and husband, Ken of Clovis, NM, and Emma Naranjo of Albuquerque; brother, Joe Pena of Reedley, CA. She is preceded in death by her two sons, James Gutierrez and Gilbert Gutierrez Jr.; three sisters; and two brothers. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM with Father John Boland, celebrant. MARES -- Ruben Matthew Mares, age 20, a resident of Albuquerque for the past six months and longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 18, 2004. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on January 20, 1984 to Susan and Eloy Mares. He loved to listen to music, play video games, hang out with his friends, and watch comedy movies. He was a stereo and Amplifier installer and enjoyed tinting windows. He was employed as a cook at Chili's Restaurant in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rudy Quintana; grandmother, Rosie Mares; uncles, Lorenzo Mares and Nick Sandoval; aunt, Adeline Sacoman; cousins, Rosita Mares and Mariah Myers.
