Obituary for MARES

Ruben Matthew Mares, age 20, a resident of Albuquerque for the past six months and longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 18, 2004. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on January 20, 1984 to Susan and Eloy Mares. He loved to listen to music, play video games, hang out with his friends, and watch comedy movies. He was a stereo and Amplifier installer and enjoyed tinting windows. He was employed as a cook at Chili's Restaurant in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rudy Quintana; grandmother, Rosie Mares; uncles, Lorenzo Mares and Nick Sandoval; aunt, Adeline Sacoman; cousins, Rosita Mares and Mariah Myers. He is survived by his parents, Susan and Eloy Mares of Las Vegas, NM; sisters, Ruth Ann Mares and husband, Carlos Lujan Jr., Joann Romero and husband, Fernando; great-grandparents, Jose and Antonia Garcia; grandfather, Eloy Mares Sr.; grandmother:, Teresita Brown; goddaughter, Dee Andra Lujan; godson & nephew, Jesus Romero; other nieces and nephews, Fabian Lujan, Marissa Mendoza, and Christopher Romero, all of Las Vegas, NM; aunts and uncles, Loretta Myers & family of Georgia; Valerie Vasquez & family of Albuquerque, NM; Rudy Quintana Jr., & family of Washington; Sabrina Quintana & family of Minnesota; Alena Quintana & family of Iowa; Joe & Martha Mares & family; Martha and Samuel Vigil & family; Gloria Sandoval & family; Frances Mares & family; Veronica Mares; Juan Mares & family; Doris Mares & family, all of Las Vegas, NM; god parents, Isidro Mascarenas, Magnalena Otero, Lorenzo and Prescilla Medina; long time friends, Dale & Fabby Roybal and children, Ezra, Isiah, and Namoi; special friends, Natasha Dominguez, Laura Lopez, Virgina Gallegos, Shane Franken, Victor Borego, and Martina Martinez, all of Las Vegas, NM; numerous other close friends and relatives. Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church with father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Mt Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Ezra Roybal, Isiah Roybal, Julian Garcia, Joseph Mares, Gabriel Garly, and Eugene Lopez; serving as honorary bearers will be Aaron Vasquez, Jordan Vasquez, and Martin Cadena.
