CATT -- Mrs. Marilyn Martin Catt, 73, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Friday, August 20, 2004 at The Villages Regional Hospital. She was born April 18, 1931 in Bryn Mawr, PA, and was a 1949 graduate of Lower Marion High School. Marilyn was a homemaker for many years before going to work at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque, where she was the Director of Volunteer services and also the President of Auxiliaries for the New Mexico Hospital Association. In 1976, she left the job she loved to travel and live around the world with her husband. She retired in Albuquerque in 1991 and moved to The Villages in 1996. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Morse E. Catt of The Villages, FL; children, Diane Smith of Blaine, WA, Dana Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, Darren Smith of Albuquerque, NM, Brenda Catt of Irvin, CA, Michelle Yates of Grand Junction, CO, and Stephanie Wood of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment services will take place at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL in September. CHACON -- George Chacon, 86, went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2004. He was born on March 9, 1918 in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Chacon was preceded in death by his son, Henry Chacon; five brothers; and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Trinie Chacon; sons, Kelly Chacon and Wilfred Chacon; daughter, Shirley Lovato and husband, Ruben; sister, Florance Black and husband, Alfred; a very special family friend, Elenor Cortez and family; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. George will be deeply missed by his loving family. Time and place of services to be announced. Pallbearers will be Mr. Chacon's grandsons, Greg Chacon, Steven Chacon, Vincent Chacon, Victor Chacon, Mark Pacheco, and John Chavez. CICCINATI -- John Ciccinati passed away on August 11, 2004 in Syracuse, New York with his daughter, Laura Hopkins, at his side. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 23, 1922. John lived in New Mexico for the over 25 years and had moved to Syracuse two months ago. Cremation will take place and he will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. He is survived by his friend and companion, Elaine Kent; two children, Laura Hopkins and Kenneth Ciccinati; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacy, Christopher, and Kristen; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Andrew. He was a past commander of 2387 VFW in Belen, NM. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to VFW National Offices in Kansas City, MO. A memorial service will be held in Auburn, NY.

DOUGHTY -- James Howard Doughty, a resident of Edgewood, passed away on August 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Sydney of Edgewood, NM; daughter, Kara Crotta and husband, Peter of Tijeras; son, Dennis of Sauharita, AZ; Brothers, Jerry and wife, Pat of Lawton Oklahoma, and John and wife, Deborah of Tulsa Oklahoma; and sister, Jan Champion and husband, Jerry of Tulsa Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Jessica and Morgan Crotta of Tijeras, NM. James was employed by the Albuquerque Public Schools as a teacher, coach, and administrator and was a founding member of the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal in Edgewood. LEE -- Lester A. Lee was born on Thursday, April 16, 1935 in Fosston, MN and died on Sunday, August 22, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM where he moved from Denver, CO in 1977. Les, the sixth of eight children born to Elmer and Hilda (Fjerstad) Lee, grew up on the family farm, attended Lade country School and graduated from Fosston High School. He served in the US Army from January 1955 to December 1957 and was stationed in Japan where he was a Morse Code Interceptor. He lived at the Meadows Mobile Home Park for the past 19 years where he served as both president and vide-president of the Meadows Association and was active in various other events and activities. In recent years his hobby was taking his dog, Snoopy, for rides on his Harley Davidson golf cart. Les is survived by his wife, Jean; stepson, Roy Thornton and wife, Debbie; their children, Sarah, Cory, and George; and step-great-grandchildren, Beverly and Raeanne. He is also survived by his daughter, Janis Frick and husband, Todd; their son, Jakob; sons, David Lee and wife, Jennifer; their daughters, Meghan and Olivia, and Randy Lee and wife, Maggie; their children, Brittany and Brandan, all of Denver, CO; sister, Carol Wold and husband, Lloyd, of Fosston, MN; brother, Harris Lee and wife, Maryon, of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Russell and wife, Helen, of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Dennis of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Ilane Rue and husband, Roland, of Fosston, MN; step-brothers, Howard Johnson and wife, Viona, of Mesa, AZ and Willard Johnson and wife, Geraldine, of Ellenton, FL; and by a special support friend, Jim Neulieb. PAXTON -- Earle A. Paxton, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died on August 22, 2004. SPEAKE -- Mr. Wesley ( Wes ) E. Speake, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 22, 2004. Mr. Speake is survived by his step children, Rita Rogers, Max Aragon and wife, Bertha, Veronica Aragon-Loureiro and husband, Luis, Fernando Aragon and wife, Marna; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special friends, Roy and Mary Herrera. Mr. Speake was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War I I. STRADFORD -- Leroy H. Stradford Sr., 85, died at home Thursday, August 19, 2004. Leroy was born in Wichita, KS on Nov. 17, 1918, and came to Albuquerque after his military service on Tinnian Island during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. He is survived by daughters, Annette Stewart and husband, Willard of Dallas, Kathleen Brixner and business partner, Rita Kerrigan of Albuquerque, and son Leroy Stradford Jr. and wife, Inis of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Orion, Carson, and Berrett Stradford, all of Albuquerque, Patricia Ferguson and husband, Weber of Dallas, and Tanya Copeland, now working in Hawaii. Leroy is also survived by a sister, Mary Neilson of Washington State. Leroy retired from Sandia Laboratories after a long and interesting career. He was a member of the First Unitarian Church and had served as a docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. He was a member of the New Mexico Wild Flower Society and the New Mexico Nature Conservancy. Leroy and his wife were well known for their long-term hobby of photographing New Mexico wild flowers, and a collection of their pictures is often exhibited by the Natural History and Science Museum. In recent years, Leroy became a member of the Los Volcanes Senior Center and had made many new friends there whom he valued deeply along with his long time friends at the Sandia Base bridge group. TRUJILLO -- Mrs. Louise H. Trujillo, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 21, 2004. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her loving children, Jack Trujillo and wife, Irene, David Trujillo and wife, Dorothy, Dorothy Gutierrez and husband, Ray, Shirley Corbin-Trujillo and husband, Larry, James Trujillo and wife, Mary Lou. Mrs. Trujillo is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other family members. Our mother was a kind, loving, and compassionate person always ready to do what she could for her children and grandchildren. She took great pride and joy to support their endeavors in life. She will live on forever through the loving memories, advice, and special gifts she gave, especially her love of music and singing. Mrs. Trujillo was a member of the Catholic Church, Altar Society and was a volunteer at Los Volcanes Senior Citizen Center. WEINER -- Carl David Weiner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 20, 2004, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Carl was preceded in death by his mother Katie, father, Hymen, and brother Allen. Born in Pittsburg, PA in 1934, he lived there until 1952. After high school, he relocated with his family to Phoenix, AZ. He attended Phoenix College and Arizona State University where he earned his business degree. He moved to Albuquerque in 1965 to work for First national Bank as a loan officer and then Vice President. In 1977 he joined E.F. Hutton as a stockbroker and has been with the company, now Smith Barney, until his retirement early this month. He was a past president of the following organizations: The Albuquerque Guild of the Santa Fe Opera, and the American Cancer Society, Bernalillo Chapter. He served on the boards of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Albuquerque UMCA, Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, United Way, Vista Santa Maria Boys Home, and Civitan. He was a major supporter of the Smith Barney/New Mexico Federation of Educational Employees. Carl had a lifelong passion for classical music, enjoyed travel, golf, spending time at his home in Florida with family and friends, and was always there to snap pictures at family gatherings. Carl will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving family. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wyoming and Paseo del Norte. WESTERFELD -- Hubert Arthur (Art) Sr. went to his final hunting grounds and joined his daughter, Mary Louise Stanford in heaven, August 21, 2004, he passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane(Foraker) Westerfeld, three sons, Art Jr. and wife, Becky, Wade, Creighton and wife, Michelle; two daughters, Wanda (all of Albuquerque), June and husband, Jeff Fisk of Artesia; three sisters; Jaunita Ports, Violet Birrell, Freida and husband, Roy Everett, (all of Albuquerque); two brothers, Fred and wife, Caroline Westerfeld of Jacksonville, FL, Norman and wife, Sandra Westerfeld of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Services are pending.

WHEET -- Bonadine Wheet, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died Sunday, August 22, 2004. She is survived by her sons, Gene Wheet and wife, Judi, Gary Wheet and wife, Kathy, and Buddy Wheet and wife, Mary, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
