ANNETT -- Donald Sollitt Annett, 88, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1978, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2004. Donald was born June 12, 1916, the son of Roy Lindsay and Abba Estelle Sollitt Annett in Frederic, WI. He came to New Mexico from Ohio. Donald had been a Managing Engineer in the paper carton manufacturing business before he retired. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 1999. He is survived by two children, Marcia E. Wade and husband, Mark of Lexington, KY, and Michael D. Annett and wife, Linda of Hamilton, MI; two grandchildren, Gretchen Williams and husband, Josh, and Matthew Annett of Holland, MI; one step-grandson, Benjamin Wade of Lexington, KY; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Williams; and his dear friend and neighbor, Duane Stair. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. to time of service. The Service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. BRUCE -- Viola Gorey Bruce, 77, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, September 6, 2004. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Graham and husband, Steven, of Albuquerque, Karla Winland and husband, Alfred, of Rapid City, SD, and Sabina Basham of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren, Melissa Lichtenberger and husband, Harry, Brandi Tillett and husband, David, Jessica Graham, Bethany Graham; great-grandchildren, Shelby Tillett, Alyssa Lichtenberger, Harry Lichtenberger, Jr.; sisters, Angie Hicks and husband, Clair, Cel Salazar; nephew, Larry Hicks and wife, Pam; grandnieces, Keri Hicks, Lori Cox, Kristi Hicks; dear friends, Mary McMackin and Faye Adams; the family of friends and care givers at La Vida Llena Retirement Community, where she resided for the past 9 years. BUTLER -- Walter Henry Butler, 81, died on September 3, 2004. He had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1949. He is survived by his son, Walt I. Butler and wife, Renee, of Albuquerque; two sisters, Anna Petty of Albuquerque and Nina Lynn and husband, Bill, of Logan, NM; and two grandchildren, Rhett Alan and Mariah Leigh Butler, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine P. Butler in 1996. Walter retired from PNM in 1979 and from Plains Electric Co-op in 1984. He was a World War II recipient of the Purple Heart for injury received in combat in Italy as a tail gunner in a B-17. He was Treasurer for the 99th Bomb Group Historical Society and manager for the PNM Retiree's Softball Team in Albuquerque. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 10, with funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Sandia Baptist Church. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. DEARHOLT -- Rose A. Dearholt passed away September 6, 2004 at her daughter's home in Lakeside, AZ while surrounded by close family. She was raised in Magdalena, NM and shared her early life with thirteen brothers & sisters. After graduating from High School, she went to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon. After some years, she returned to New Mexico and went to work with Mountain Bell. Rose married Samuel Ray Dearholt, Jr. in February 1953. Samuel worked for the FAA and they first moved to Alaska, and then relocated to Albuquerque, NM where they spent the rest of their time together. Rose then decided to work as a bookkeeper at a private school, Sunset Mesa, where she worked for 20 years, enjoying the school and the children. She was a member of the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church family in Albuquerque. Rose enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking incredible desserts and candies as some of her hobbies. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and spent many vacations with them in Colorado, Canada, Mexico, Washington, Oregon, Indiana, and Arizona with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rose is survived by her daughter, Carla (Carl) Wibel of Lakeside; son, Gregory (Carole) Dearholt; grandchildren, Tori & Milton Lau, Chris & Melanie Foster, Trevor & Jordan Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Evan & Sofia Lau; sister, Emma Armijo; brother, Junior Armijo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dearholt, Jr.; daughter, Marta Rose; parents, Solomon & Candelaria Armijo; sisters, Dome Gilbert, Lily Winston, Grego Pino, Mary Molinar; brothers, Mayo, John, Claude, Martin, Willie, and Raymond Armijo. A Memorial Mass will be held on September 11, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Avenue, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass will be officiated by Father Bill Day. A gathering by family and friends will be held at Rose's home in Albuquerque immediately after the Mass. EASTON -- Mabel Easton, widow of Dale Easton, passed away in her home September 1, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 85. She is survived by her 5 daughters: Ruth Dougherty, Phoenix AZ; Sonja Montoya, Albuquerque, NM; Charlotte Kersey, Albuquerque, NM; Dixie Theobald, Jemez Springs, NM; and Rusty Easton, Alamogordo, NM. Mabel is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. There will be no formal services.

ERDMAN -- Guilford Mack Erdman, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, born in Shelby County, MO, November 29, 1915, went to be with the Lord on the morning of September 6, 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia; and sister-in-law and husband, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful neighbors and friends. Guilford was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he loved serving in many capacities. He was a charter member of Chaparral Chapter of FMCA. The Erdmans owned and operated The Little Corral Kindergarten from 1960-1979 and continue to be loved and remembered by their many students. Guilford graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1933. He attended Hemphill Diesel School in Chicago where he graduated with honors. He was a well respected diesel mechanic. After serving his Country in the Navy in World War II, he returned to Shelby County to farm for several years before relocating to New Mexico. During retirement, he spent many enjoyable years researching the Santa Fe Trail and traveling with the Motor Coach Association. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver SE, Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Beach officiating. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. HINDI -- Ednen Hindi passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on September 5, 2004 at the age of 81. Born on April 4, 1923, he grew up on the family's sheep, cattle, and horse ranch in Torrance County and attended school in Duran, NM. Ednen attended high school and college at New Mexico Military Institute, where he excelled in academics and was an accomplished athlete, and graduated in 1943. He subsequently served in the US Army from 1943 to 1952. As a lieutenant platoon commander in the First Armored Division, he served in Europe during WWII, earning the Bronze Star. He was stationed in Texas during the Korean War, at which time he was promoted to Captain. He married Billie Ray Smith from Floydada, TX, in 1948. After leaving the military, they lived on the ranch and raised 3 children. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vaughn. He enjoyed hunting and photography, and was an avid horseman, inventive rancher, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ed was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at an early age. Through the many years of his illness, he never lost his love of life or sense of humor. Even as his illness progressed, he continued to use his abilities for weaving, pottery making, and other creative artwork. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarita Duran (1973), from Duran and Alex Hindi (1974), who immigrated to the US from Zahle, Lebanon in 1908; his wife, Billie Ray Smith (1989), his eldest son, Ednen Alex (2001); and his sister, Hafiza (Tony) Gallegos (2000). He is survived by his son, Robert D. Hindi, M. D. of San Francisco; daughter, Sarah Hindi and Maureen Eckroth of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ednen William, Khara Rose, Amarah Kay, Jhad Alex, all of Albuquerque; his sister, Samia (Harry) Doro, and brothers, Brahaim (Susie Garde), Sam (Amelia Vicente), Shafie (Emma Budagher), and Nabay (Vivian Tapia); 22 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins, great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the numerous caregivers for their care and support over the past several years, particularly the physicians, nurses, and hospital staff at the Spinal Cord Injury Unit of the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004, 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. A reception will follow. LAVERY -- Frank J. Lavery passed away at his home on Friday, September 3, 2004 after a long illness. He was born October 30, 1926 in Liverpool, England, the son of Henry and Miriam (Rothwell) Lavery. Mr. Lavery was a resident of Albuquerque for 56 years. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the family home; his children, Paul O'Neal of Oregon, Suzan Hodge of Washington State, Sherri Price of Utah, and Shelli Maroney of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jamie Maltby, Adam Schmitt, Jessica O'Neal, Jed O'Neal, Michael Maroney, and Kimberly O'Neal; great-grandchildren, Casey and Cady Singleton; his brother, Allan Lavery; sister, Kathleen Brault; and many nieces and nephews here in Albuquerque and England. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters. Cremation has taken place. No services will be held.

LEWIS -- Glen L. (Lee) Lewis, 84, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2004. Born on August 6, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN, Lee moved to Albuquerque in 1958 and retired from General Electric in 1983 as a machinist. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Lewis and Leotha Connerly; the only true love of his life, his wife, Margie in 1990; sons, Chuck and Donald; brothers, Lloyd and George; and granddaughter, Sheila. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Clark of Albuquerque; son, Jerry Lewis and partner, Penny Wakeland of Olathe, KS; brother, Robert Lewis and wife, Rosalie; sister, Belma Connerly and husband, Cliff of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughters, Darla Ashley and partner, Joel Sweet of Albuquerque, and Donna Roberts and husband, Jeff of Overland Park, KS; great-grandchildren, Hunter Sweet of Albuquerque, Kendra and Phillip Roberts of Overland Park, KS. A special thanks to his guardian angel, Teri Buckingham; he is now your guardian angel. Thank you to Carl Beaver for the care of our father in the evenings; to the entire staff of Manor Care Arcadia Hall 1; and to Ambercare Hospice for their excellent care. LUJAN -- Joseph Carl Luj n was born February 19, 1964 in Albuquerque. He was a life long resident of New Mexico and later chose his home in Los Lunas. He graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1982 where he was involved in band, sports, and other activities. Joseph was involved in Boy Scouts of America and attained the honor and rank of Eagle Scout. He went on to attend the University of New Mexico where he studied engineering. He also attended TVI where he studied computers and technical drafting and was also a teachers' assistant. He received his associate degree from Arizona Institute of Technology in Phoenix, AZ. Joseph was a hot air balloon pilot and was passionate about ballooning. Joseph was active at San Felipe Church, and he generously shared his talents, knowledge, and compassion with so many. We will miss him always. Joseph was a devoted, loving husband, a caring, involved father, and a respectful and attentive son and brother. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and loyal friend. He was taken from us so suddenly, but we will have faith and trust in the knowledge we will be reunited again soon. Among many friends and family his survivors include: his wife, Veronica (Lucero) Luj n and son, Manuel Joseph Luj n of Los Lunas; mother, Dr. Mary Estelle Luj n of Albuquerque; and sister, Stacy M. MAREZ -- Rudy Marez, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday September 4, 2004. He was born in Fruita, CO on January 27, 1925. He was a resident of Albuquerque for the past 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Marez; and grandson, Christopher Apodaca. MONTOYA -- Orlando Montoya, 69, born August 30, 1935, was a life long resident of Bernalillo, NM who was called home to our Lord on Monday, September 6, 2004 while surrounded by his loving family. Orlando is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nena Montoya; six children, Chris Montoya and wife, Jane of Bernalillo, Tina Valencia of Bernalillo, Rebecca Montoya and Louie of Rio Rancho, Rosemary Montoya and Paul of Lancaster, CA, Vincent Montoya and Alice of Rio Rancho, and Lisa Parrish and husband, Dennis of Rio Rancho; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Sabino Montoya and wife, Lugardita of Bernalillo, Abran Montoya and wife, Margarita of Bernalillo, and Ricardo Montoya Jr. of Bernalillo. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Orlando never met a person that did not become a lifelong "buddy." Orlando was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, bowling and baseball; he was one of the founders of Coronado Little League in Bernalillo, where he coached boys and women's leagues. Being the "Mayor of the Bosque," Orlando was gifted with a green thumb; his grapes and peas were like no others. Orlando was always outgoing and ready to serve. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, who served our country during the Korean War. Orlando was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #4243; the American Legion Post #69; and of the Moose Lodge Chapter #1517. Friends and family may visit at Alameda Mortuary, Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mario Valencia, Jason Stavros, Eric Valencia, Brian Montoya, John Rinaldi, Benjamin Perea, Louie Romero, and Steve Montoya. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lorenzo Otero; her sons, Raymond and wife, Monica; Charles and wife, Debbie, Lawrence and wife, Gloria; and Lee Otero; daughters, Phyllis Armijo and Lucille Montano, Peggy and her husband, Gavino Lopez, and Ann and her husband, John Hager; brother, Avedon Montano and wife, Ramona; brother, Carpio Montano; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her mother, Aurelia Montano; and daughter, Sally Otero-Griego. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Albuquerque. The Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning also at St. Anne's. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan Armijo, Gavino Lopez, Anthony Montano, Chris Otero, Joseph Otero, and Queston Otero. ROMERO -- Charles A. Romero Jr., 35, passed away Friday, September 3, 2004. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque, he worked as a journeyman plumber. Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, Demecio and Adela Romero and Nasario and Josie Gallegos. He is survived by his daughters, Taylor and Hunter Romero; parents, Charles and Linda Romero; sister, Tammy Romero; brother, Mark Romero; great-grandmother, Anita Dimas; girlfriend, Maria McNabb; nephew, Faustino Rodriguez; niece, Martina Rodriguez; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members, and friends who loved and will miss him. SANCHEZ -- Raymond James "Jimmy" Sanchez. On September 5, 2004 our Heavenly Father called Raymond home. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Jenny Sanchez; brother, Alex Sanchez; and half-sister, Anita Maldonado. He is survived by the mother of his children, Theresa "Terri" Sanchez; son, Dennis Sanchez; daughters, Denise and Dee Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Joshua Sanchez of Albuquerque and Jonathon Ramsey of Florida; special aunt, Peggy Duran; step-mother, Margaret Sanchez; step-sister, Dolores; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; companion and friend, Lillian Gallegos and family. Raymond proudly served in the United States Air Force and the New Mexico National Guard. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories and was a member of the American Legion. Raymond loved to fish and always had some project or another in the making. He loved his pups, especially his "Buddy Boy." Raymond was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Those who knew him will truly miss him. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. STREU -- Wanda Daves Streu, 69, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away with her sons by her side on September 4, 2004. Wanda had been a resident of Albuquerque for the past six years after moving from Amarillo, TX. She was an insurance claims processor and enjoyed participating in Bridge Clubs. Wanda Daves was born to Jack and Ruth Daves on March 29, 1935 in Roy, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two of her sons, Ricky Streu in 1994 and Rodney Streu in 1998. She is survived by her sons, Steve Shaw, and his wife, Judy, of Albuquerque, and Randy Streu, and his wife, Marsha, of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Chad Shaw and his wife, Kristi, of Wylie, TX, and Natalie Shaw of Albuquerque; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, and Abby Shaw. Private Services will be held by the family. Ms. Streu's final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, TX, where private family services will take place. WILLIAMS -- Ruth "Mary" Williams, 90, a resident of Rio Rancho since 2001, died on September 7, 2004. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon M. Williams and Patricia A. Lein and husband, Roy, all of Rio Rancho; one son, Alvin Williams Jr. and wife, Lajra of Sacramento, CA; one granddaughter; five grandsons; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Alvin W. Williams; grandson, David Ray Lein; and two brothers, Edd and C.W. Beal. Ruth was a member of the Ten Pin Bowling Leagues in Rio Rancho and a member of Rio Rancho United Methodist Church. Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Pastor Gregg Armstrong, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. WISHARD -- Arthur Robert Wishard, Sr., 81, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at his home. Mr. Wishard was born January 29, 1923 in Ladonia, TX. He was the son of the late Roy Wesley Leroy and Grace Victoria Whitecap Wishard. He was a loving husband to Lois Agnes Holdren Wishard, who preceded him in death. Mr. Wishard was a good father to Carolyn Sue, Catherine Ann, and Arthur Jr. (a.k.a Austin J. Richards). Mr. Wishard served his country in the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Corps and U. S. Air Force, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Surviving are his children; a brother, Ancle Lee Wishard; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wishard will be cremated, and may he rest peacefully in God's presence.
