STRONG -- Lenora Alice Stong, 82, a former resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2005 in Atlanta, GA. Lenora had lived in Lafayette, Indiana for 45 years, then in Albuquerque since 1988. She had been a long distance operator with GTE before retiring. Lenora was a member of the GTE Pioneer Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donavan M. Stong. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Schrader of Westminster, CA. and Peggy Wells and husband, Gerald of Woodstock, GA; one sister, JoAnn Norman and husband, Cooper of Gilbert, AZ; and five grandchildren, Michael Odoin, Timothy Odoin, Tammy Eberle, Christine Schrader, and David Schrader. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Rev. Ray Wells and Gerald Wells officiating. MARTINEZ -- Manuel (Mel) F. Martinez, 80, a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM; a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, December 2, 2005, as a result of an accident. Final viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM; where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Duran, Albert Jacquez, Jim Linnane, Matt O'Hearn, Duane Archuleta, and Kevin Duran. MARTINEZ -- Manuel (Mel) F. Martinez, 80, a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM; a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly, Friday, December 2, 2005, as a result of an accident. He was a World War II Veteran, retired educator, lifetime rancher, and community leader. He was born January 1, 1925, to Emiliano and Teresita Martinez, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by Lucarita Martinez; and his brother, Roberto (Tony) Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emma Martinez of the family home; five daughters and one son, Theresa Martinez, Albuquerque, Sharon and husband, Gilbert Duran, Bernalillo, NM, Shirley Martinez and Albert Jacquez, Rio Rancho, NM, Linda and husband, Jim Linnane, Taos, NM, Michael Martinez, Santa Fe, NM and Carmen and husband, Matt O'Hearn, Wichita Falls, TX; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alice Luciani, Angie and husband, Rudy Grande, Roseanne Lemke, Bianca and husband, Joe Marti; brother, Arthur Martinez; sister-in-law, Esther Martinez; numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends who loved and will miss him dearly. Mel was a strong believer in God and Family. He was a hard worker who instilled great values in the many lives he touched. Known to many as "Uncle Mel", he influenced many people of all generations in the community. He dedicated many years of his life to serving on boards, such as the Jemez Mountain Electric Co-op, Statewide Electric Co-op Association, and Rio Puerco Livestock Association. Visitations will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. JARAMILLO -- AURELIA. Mrs. Aurelia Jaramillo, 72, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 29, 2005. Mrs. Jaramillo is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mr. Melcor Jaramillo; three daughters, Elizabeth Pagan and husband, Edward, Patricia Lescano, and Cecilia Duran; four sons, Tony Jaramillo, Roy Jaramillo, Steven Jaramillo, and Felix Jaramillo; one sister, Petra Flores; one brother, David Flores and wife, Angie; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Jaramillo was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be held Thursday evening at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. ROMERO -- Esther Romero was born December 31, 1953 in Texas. She passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2005 in Albuquerque. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Candelario Zamora and Della Sisneros; her brothers and sister, Toby Edward Zamora, Debra Duran and Vincent Sisneros Jr. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Romero; son, Steve Whitten; daughter, Joyce Whitten; grandchildren, Destiny Freelong, B.J. Whitten, Junior Garcia, and Angel Garcia; her eight sisters; five brothers; 18 nephews; 12 nieces; one great-niece; Sofia Beaman and husband, Paul of Clovis, Rita Saiz and husband, Louis of Clovis, Ruth Barnhill and husband, Ben of Florida, Thomas Zamora and wife, Marla of Mountainair, Mary Segura and husband, Pat of Clovis, Gabriela Lopez and husband, Gilbert of Albuquerque, Lisa Caldwell and Abe Chavez of Clovis, Manuel Zamora and wife, Jeanette of Albuquerque, Josie Maldonado of Portales, Herman Sisneros of Albuquerque. SENA -- Carlos T. Sena, 88, of Fort Sumner, NM died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Laurel Skies Nursing Home in Albuquerque following an illness. Carlos was born August 29, 1917 in Fort Sumner to the home of Jose C. Sena and the former Estefanita Trujillo. Carlos married Christine Casaus on April 17, 1937 in Santa Rosa. Carlos was a carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy. Carlos was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner. Carlos loved horses and animals; he was revered, and respected by all the residents of "Old Town". He was a grandfather to all the neighborhood children. Carlos was preceded in death by three sisters, Odelia Casaus, Aurelia Lucero, and Alberta Gonzales; five brothers: Salomon T. Sena, Olegario T. Sena, Raymundo T. Sena, Alfonso T. Sena, Anastacio T. Sena; a son-in-law, Albaro Griego; daughter-in-law, Della Sena; and a grandson, Michael Griego. Survivors include his wife, Christine Sena of Rio Rancho, NM; eight daughters: Charlotte Griego of Fort Sumner; Lourdes (Ernest) Nieto of Rio Rancho; Barbara (Tom) Madrid of Rio Rancho; Mary (Alfredo) Madrid of Albuquerque; Terry (Raymond) Griego of Colorado Springs, CO; Veronica (Ernest) Madrid of Rio Rancho; Margaret (Rudy) Barrera of Amarillo, TX; Isabell (Lloyd) Lamkin of Albuquerque; four sons, Jim Sena of Santa Rosa; Larry (Martha) Sena of Crownpoint, Indiana; Johnny Sena, and Joe (Patricia) Sena of Fort Sumner; one brother, R.T. Sena of Fort Sumner; 28 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. ORTIZ -- Reymundo Ortiz Sr., born in Alameda, NM, and a lifelong resident of Chilili, NM, passed away Friday, November 25, 2005. Reymundo Ortiz Sr. was the founder of the Chilili Rodeo Club and a member for over 40 years. He was the Caretaker of the Chilili Cemetery for 50 years, a Board Member of the Chilili Water Association for 40 years and a Notary Public for the State of New Mexico for over 40 years. He is survived by his children, Alfredo Ortiz and wife, Lena, Francisco Ortiz and wife, Ramona, Mary C. Duran, Luciano Ortiz and wife, Mary Ann, Velma Gurule and husband, Orlando, Adelia Gallegos and husband, Arturo, Gilbert Ortiz and wife, Lorraine, Herman Ortiz and wife, Donna, Virginia Gutierrez and husband, Frank, Reymundo Ortiz Jr., Bernie Ortiz and wife, Rosenda; 40 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Ray is survived by his parents Richard and Maria Elena Conejo; one daughter, Renee Martinez; grandmother, Felipe Conejo; four sisters, Elizabeth Ramirez and husband, Dennis, Lilly Boggs and husband, Greg, Vickie M. Timpanaro and husband, Jim, and Maria Baldwin and husband, Ben; three brothers, Gilbert Martinez, Ricky Martinez, and Ricky Beltran; and his one granddaughter, Angelica Martinez. He is also survived with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. BACA -- Josie P. Mrs. Josie P. Baca, 93, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 23, 2005 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Baca is survived by her loving daughters, Dolores Padilla, Priscilla Baca and Anna Baca; five grandchildren, Ricardo Padilla (Radio Personality), Rafael Baca (Esquire), Arthur Baca M.D., Yolanda Hall and Lupe Dragich; four great grandchildren, Don, Ellie, Nicole and Joe; two great great grandchildren, Keely and Evina; daughter in law, Nicky Baca; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Mrs. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Baca, a son, Major Jose R. Baca, a daughter, Viola Baca, three sisters, Theresa, Lucy and Rose, a son in law, Celso Padilla and a grandson, Michael Padilla. Mrs. Baca was a member of the Catholic Church. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and lived there until she married Albert in 1937. She was a special mother, Believing in God, Faith and Family. She was a wonderful cook and will leave a large void in the lives she touched. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. by Esther Barela and the Legion of Mary. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Joel Garner and Father Roberto Fenzl con-celebrants of the Mass.
