ARMIJO -- Aurelia Baca Armijo passed away on December 5, 2005. Aurelia was born on the family ranch near Burley, NM on February 2, 1913. Aurelia is preceded in death by her husband Andres G. Armijo. Mrs. Armijo is survived by her son, Paul Baca Armijo and wife, Ann Stockly-Armijo; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aurelia lived on the family ranch until 1990 when she moved to Albuquerque. Her family would like to remember her as a loving, kind mother, wife, and friend and she will be greatly missed. ASHWORTH -- FREDERICK LINCOLN. Vice Adm (Ret) Frederick Lincoln Ashworth, born January 24, 1912 Beverly, MA. Graduate OF U.S. Naval Academy 1933 and career Navy Officer. During WWII was Deputy Commander & Operations Officer of Manhattan Project. Was Weaponeer on Nagasaki Attack, August 9, 1945. Other Commands included: Executive Officer-USS MIDWAY, Commands USS CORSON and USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, Admiral of U.S. NAVAL 6TH Fleet as well as Commandant of Midshipmen, U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY. Retired 1968 to Santa Fe where he helped found Hondo Hills Fire Station, later moving to Lincoln, NM briefly before returning to Santa Fe in the early 1990s. He is survived by widow, Ercie Bell Ashworth; three sons, Frederick L. Ashworth, Jr. and wife, Dawn, Jr. David B. Ashworth, Stephen W. Ashworth and wife, Wendy; and three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be sent to U.S. Navy Academy Foundation - 291 Wood Rd. Annapolls, MD 21402. BLATTI -- Claude T. Blatti, 90, an Albuquerque resident since 1990, died Sunday, December 4, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Valida Blatti of Albuquerque; sons, Craig Blatti and wife, Irene of Tucson, AZ, Roger Kim Blatti and wife, Pat of Santa Fe, NM; sisters, Catherine Lucker and Betty Dustin, both of Oregon. Mr. Blatti retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 26 years of service in 1977. Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. CASTILLO -- Tony Castillo, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annie Castillo; his only child, daughter, JoAnn Meats, her husband, Ross (J.J.) Meats; two loving grandchildren, Regina and Ross A. Meats. He is also survived by his sisters, Stella, Lydia, and Mary; and his brothers, Ernest Frank, Felix, and Rupert. A Memorial Service and Rosary will be held at Holy Family Church at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2005. Burial will be private. Arrangements thru Aspen Funeral Alternatives.

GARCIA -- Juanita Garcia, age 82, beloved and devoted Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Saturday, December 3, 2005, while surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was a life-time resident of Canyon, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vitalico Garcia; parents, Narcissa and Alcario Jaramillo; brothers, Jose and Pete Jaramillo; and sister, Lucinda Jaramillo. Juanita is survived by her loving children, Louie Garcia and wife, Geraldine of Canyon, NM, Aggie Valdez and husband, Robert of Ponderosa, NM, Rosemary Silva and husband, Jim of Littleton, CO; seven precious grandchildren, Anna Louise Garcia, Marisa, and Selina Silva, Christine and Joelle Valdez, Clarence and Adrian Valdez, and Matthew Garcia; seven great-grandchildren, Audrena, Adrian, Monique, Onecimo, Angelica, Santiago and Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. Juanita will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. GUTIERREZ -- Jose F. "Joe" Gutierrez, age 84, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Josephine Gutierrez; son, Aaron Garcia and wife, Sandra; daughters, Ruth Candelaria all of Albuquerque, NM and Ida Marie Gutierrez (Clifford) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Mario, Dominic, Juan, III, Amanda, Brittney, Christopher and Cory; and great-granddaughter, Kayla. He is also survived by his sisters, Delores Salazar and husband, Donald, Tillie Wisniewski and husband, Frank, and Pita Sanchez. Mr. Gutierrez served in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the Sheriff of Guadalupe County and had retired from the Transportation Department of the State of New Mexico. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. KING -- Wayne King passed away on November 24, 2005. Wayne moved to Portland, TX in 1982 from Albuquerque, NM where he had been a resident since 1952 after moving from Roseville, OH. He was very active in Little League and Y.A.F.L. football with his sons. He was a long-time salesman in the food industry and never met a stranger. Upon moving to Portland, he became a salesman for the Lone Star Brewing Company. In 1990, he purchased the Dixie Cream Donut Shoppe, later expanding to Ingleside, Sinton, and Corpus Christi, TX. Wayne always opened his home to anyone in need of a place to stay, a meal to eat, or just a friend to talk to. He was a man of unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys, and father, Elmer Gaye King. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pat King; his daughter, Shirley (Ed) Segotta; sons, Wayne, Jr. (Rebecca), Michael Gerald, Christopher Lee; a brother, Pete; nephew, Brandon; and 14 beloved grandchildren. LORENZEN -- Bernhardt Robert Lorenzen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather and cherished brother and uncle, passed away on the morning of December 2, 2005 at Vista Care Hospice in Albuquerque, NM. Bernhardt was born in the farming community of Gilmore City, IA. During his youth, his family moved to Chicago, IL, where he attended high school and took college-level courses at the YMCA. Later, a scholarship enabled him to attend the University Wisconsin in Madison for two years. Eventually, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Armour Institute (now Illinois Institute of Technology) and worked in a variety of jobs. The rigors of WWII drew Bernhardt to both Dallas/Fort Worth and then San Diego, where he contributed to the U.S. war effort working in military aircraft manufacturing facilities. Afterwards, he worked with Foster /Wheeler Corp., building an oil refinery in Colombia, S.A. In Bogota', he met and married his wife Mercedes. Following a year in Houston, TX, the couple moved with their baby daughter to Albuquerque, NM, when Bernhardt accepted employment with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). After 23 years working in Plant Engineering, he retired from SNL in 1977. Bernhardt participated with his sons in the YMCA Indian Guides and served as a volunteer usher for UNM basketball games for many years. Bernhardt's family and friends will recall him as an avid reader, pursuing an eclectic array of subjects with an emphasis on science. His life-long love of classical music found confirmation in the Santa Fe Opera, where he was a season ticket holder for nearly 47 years. Throughout his life, Bernhardt was an example of strength and propriety. He lived his philosophy of conservation, using his knowledge to repair and preserve the world around himself. This way of life was never more evident than in his meticulous efforts to restore the first car he ever owned, a 1941 Graham Paige. Bernhardt is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mercedes; his daughter, Melissa Hilleary and her husband, Christopher Hilleary of Albuquerque, NM; his son, Lorenz Lorenzen and his wife, Colleen Lorenzen of Towson, MD; and his son, Andrew Lorenzen of Albuquerque, NM; his sister, Ellen Buckley of Chandler, AZ; his grandchildren, Sean Hilleary, Claire Hilleary, Alexander Lorenzen, Malcolm Lorenzen, Jerika Lorenzen, and Jheridan Lorenzen; as well as by his nephew, Douglas Buckley and his wife, Linda, of Tempe, AZ; and his niece, JoEllen Orescanin and her husband, Donald Orescanin of Fairfield, CA. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Deacon Robert Morrow of Annunciation Catholic Church officiating. MAES -- Patsy L. Dickens Maes passed away Sunday, December 4, 2005 at her Rio Rancho, NM home. She was born on September 1, 1932 in Miami, AZ to Grace and Paul F. Dickens, Sr. Pasty moved to Los Alamos, NM her senior year of High School and graduated from LAHS in 1951. She worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory for many years, and later moved to Albuquerque where she retired from UNM Alumni Relations in 1998. She loved to sew, and was a part-time seamstress for Albuquerque Civic Light Opera. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother James M. Dickens. She is survived by her children, Wanda Dunlop and husband, Jerry of Los Alamos, NM, Linda M. Porto of Albuquerque, Anthony (Tony) Maes and his companion, Nancy De Lara of Edgewood; brother, Paul F. Dickens, Jr. and wife, Norma of Tucson, AZ; and sister, Bettie Smith and husband, Jack of Bothell, WA. MILLER -- Betty Miller of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, December 5, 2005 in an Albuquerque nursing home. She was born Wednesday, September 12, 1923 in Springfield Gardens, NY to the late Frank A. Miller, Sr. and Clara Lang Miller. Betty is survived by her brother, Frank Miller, Albuquerque; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Robert Milani, New York; nieces and nephews, Ann Marie and John Karam, and John Milani and family, all of New York, Janet and Richard Letscher, and Theresa Miller, all of Albuquerque; great-nieces and -nephews, Laura, Joann, Joseph and Rita Karam, all of New York, Rick Letscher and wife, Shira, Janelle and Justin Hawkins, Christy and Edward Parks, all of Albuquerque; great-great-nephew and -niece, Joseph Greenberg and Randi Hawkins, both of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her dear sister-in-law, Loretta Miller in February, 2002. Betty was a very devoted sister and aunt to her family. Her family was her world and she will be dearly missed. PETTEFER -- Helen Pasko Pettefer, born February 10, 1910, and an Albuquerque resident since 1970, passed away on December 5, 2005. She was born in Ramah, CO, where her parents homesteaded in the early 1900s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pettefer in 1972. Helen and Ralph were married in Colorado Springs, CO in 1945. The Pettefers owned and operated a very popular Night Club and Restaurant in Roundup, MT for over twenty years prior to their retirement in Albuquerque. Helen was very active in the St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, in Albuquerque, for many years where she was a member of the Tuesday Workshop, creating many beautifully embroidered and hand-quilted bedspreads for the Church's Annual Hollyberry Fairs. She also belonged to the St. Mark's Celebrities, and prepared many meals for this group of seniors, and for many other activities. She was a gourmet cook, and nothing pleased her more than to entertain her friends in her home. Helen was an excellent gardener; and flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, grapes, and berries flourished with her care. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, Friday, December 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Father Harold Trott will be conducting the services. Her remains will be transported to Colorado Springs, where a Funeral Service will be held at Saints Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church at a later date, to be announced. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Helen was a devout Christian and we know our Lord has welcomed her into his home on high. Her wish was that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either of the two churches mentioned above, or to a charity of your choice. ROMERO -- Joshua "J.R." Romero, age 17, was a resident of Los Lunas, NM. On Friday, December 2, 2005, Our Lord Jesus opened up his arms and called our beloved son and brother home to join his loved ones whom have preceded him in death. Josh brought great joy to his parents on July 2, 1988, when he was born. He was born and raised in Los Lunas, where he grew up to be a fine young man that was loved by everyone who knew him. He touched the lives of so many people in the short time that he was with us. Josh was active in sports. He played baseball, basketball, and wrestled. However, football was his sport of choice. Josh also enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved to go fishing, camping, hunting, and water skiing. Josh enjoyed staying home and spending time with his brother Gabe, watching movies and playing X-box. Most of all he enjoyed being with his girlfriend, Jessica whom he loved dearly and had hoped to marry. Josh loved being around family and friends. He always greeted others with hugs and kindness. Josh was always ready to help and would willingly put aside whatever he was doing to assist others. Josh was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts. We truly believe that Josh was an angel sent to us by God. ROUCHET -- Patti Rouchet, 41, passed away on December 2, 2005. RUIZ -- Mauricia "Maureen" Ruiz, age 86, passed away on December 1st, 2005. She was preceded in death by her loving son Russell and her brother, Esequiel Padilla. She is survived by her husband Leopoldo Ruiz; her children, Genova Herrera, Charlene Cunningham, Rebecca Dyble, Steve Ruiz and their families. She is also survived by her sister, Angela Sanchez and family. Her grandchildren are: Steve, Travis, Stacy, Marian,Lori,John, Peter and Beth. Her great-grandchildren are Taj, Aisha, Mailee, Lexie, Sierra, Angelina, Victoria, Mica, Myah, Alex and Tyler. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9th, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 550 Atrisco SW. A special thanks is extended to the Vista Care Hospice staff for the excellent care they provided.

SILVA -- Gary A. Silva left this world on Monday, December 5, 2005. He was born in Guam on November 10, 1951, to Violet L. and Lorenzo M. Silva. He taught us how to love and how to be patient. He brought sunshine to all that he touched. He leaves behind his parents, Violet and Lorenzo; sister, Gail Silva; nephew, Justin Hammond; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. TAYLOR -- Clyde Ernest Taylor, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 5, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna L. Taylor of the family home; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor of Scottsdale, AZ, and Ruth Tholen of Pontiac, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Taylor was a member of the VFW Post 6216 and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 953. He was an avid fisherman and liked the outdoors. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
