ORTIZ -- Reymundo Ortiz Sr., born in Alameda, NM, and a lifelong resident of Chilili, NM, passed away Friday, November 25, 2005. Reymundo Ortiz Sr. was the founder of the Chilili Rodeo Club and a member for over 40 years. He was the Caretaker of the Chilili Cemetery for 50 years, a Board Member of the Chilili Water Association for 40 years and a Notary Public for the State of New Mexico for over 40 years. He is survived by his children, Alfredo Ortiz and wife, Lena, Francisco Ortiz and wife, Ramona, Mary C. Duran, Luciano Ortiz and wife, Mary Ann, Velma Gurule and husband, Orlando, Adelia Gallegos and husband, Arturo, Gilbert Ortiz and wife, Lorraine, Herman Ortiz and wife, Donna, Virginia Gutierrez and husband, Frank, Reymundo Ortiz Jr., Bernie Ortiz and wife, Rosenda; 40 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at the Holy Child Parish in Tijeras. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2005 with burial following in the Chilili Cemetery in Chilili, NM.
