BUSTOS -- Jeremy Eugene Anthony Bustos, born October 27, 1981, was called home to our Lord suddenly in the early morning hours of March 3, 2010. Jeremy was a member of a military family that traveled the world but settled back home in Albuquerque. He was the owner the Do It Yourself Auto in Albuquerque, a business he started from scratch and loved whole-heartedly. Prior to bringing his love and talents together to create his business he was a New Mexico corrections officer, a Best Buy delivery specialist and even a Pizza Hut master pizza maker! He was a graduate of St. Pius X High School class of 2000, where he excelled in art and guitar. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Alfonso and Olivia Bustos, and his cousin; Gabriel Fresquez. He is survived by his loving maternal grandparents, Fidel and Toni Alarid, his loving parents, Cathy Alarid, Eugene Bustos and wife Teresa, aunt, Rose Alarid; brother, Benjamin Bustos, his wife Tina Bustos, their boys, Christopher and Mario, but most of all by his loving daughter, Elle Kady Olivia Bustos. We will miss you daddy, son, little brother, and Nino. Please keep us in you heart; you will always be in ours. "God saw him tired and his cure was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered come with me. With tearful eyes we watched him and saw him pass away, although we loved him dearly we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best." - unknown. Cremation arrangements have taken place. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church located at 5311 Phoenix Ave NE in Albuquerque. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the same church. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will take place at the Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. CARESS -- Chaplain Dawn L. Caress, 65, died unexpectedly following surgery, Tuesday, March 2, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; children, Devin Caress and wife, Stacie, Dava Matillano and husband Arnold; five grandchildren Seth, Hanna, Noah, Cullen and Hadley; pappa Robert Plunkett; brothers Gene Uhl and wife Sandy, Ed Uhl and wife Yolanda, Bob Uhl and wife Elaine, Mike Uhl and wife Beverly, Brian Uhl; and loving sister Teena Waylett and husband Randy; two stepbrothers; and two step sisters; numerous aunts and uncles and numerous family members and friends. Dawn was a Chaplain for Presbyterian Hospice and touched the lives of each person she came in contact with. She was a living example of her faith and hope in the Lord. CASTONGUAY -- Florence Virginia Castonguay, Ph.D., An indomitable spirit. Born October 11, 1904, passed away on February 28, 2010 at the age of 105. Florence enjoyed a marvelously productive and fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and college professor. Florence was an inspiration and role model to all who knew her. Florence is survived by son, John Castonguay and wife Cheryl; daughters, Mary and husband, Jack Dwyer, Margaret Barr and husband, Martin Goldman, JoAnne and husband Ken Conrad; nine grandchildren: John Dwyer, Virginia Dwyer, Tom Dwyer, Michael Goldman, Danielle Goldman, Lisa Goldman, Heather Conrad, Allison Conrad and Renae Castonguay; great-grandchildren are Jordan Dwyer, Zoe Goldman, Aiden Dwyer, Ainsley Dwyer, Nola Colletti, and Ellis Thompson. Florence was preceded in death by son, Thomas William Castonguay and husband, Thomas Telesphore Castonguay. COLLINS -- Christopher Collins, 62, a resident of Albuquerque for 15 years, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jacquieline; four children, James Kenneth Collins, Christine Bryan, Sean Collins, and Ryan Collins; three grandchildren, Megan, Kenneth, and Hunter; mother, Jane Collins; siblings, Larry Collins, Michael Collins and Sister Monica Collins; and other relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Merle Collins; and daughter Danielle Collins. He was born on December 30, 1947 in Covina, CA and spent most of his life in California. Chris worked for Flow Serv Corporation until its closing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Chris was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. GRANADO -- Gloria O. Grandao passed away March 1, 2010 at 4:12 p.m. She went with the angels and our Lord to rest for eternally. She was born in Mesa, AZ, moved to CA many years after moved to Albuquerque where she lived for so many years. Gloria was know and loved by so many people, sometimes I thought to many people! She was my mother, my best friend and my strength. She will be very much missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Lisa) Grannemann; and wife, Joanne Grannemann. Dr. Grannemann was a professor of Electrical Engineering and for many years Director of the Bureau of Engineering Research at the University of New Mexico. HAMMERSLY -- Elsie Hammersly was born to Frank and Anna Wallitsch on February 8, 1918 in Allentown, PA and has been a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1947. "El" passed away on March 4, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Karl Hammersly. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Wilson and husband, David; granddaughters Rebbie Garza; Buffie Nelson and husband, Scott; great granddaughters Kristen Holt and husband, John; Lindsey Garza and fiance, Thomas Atencio; Leslie Garza; Lauren and Savanna Nelson; her sister, Peggy Yost; and many nieces and nephews. El retired from Kistler Collister Department Store and volunteered for many years at The Storehouse. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 63 years. Elsie was known to her family and friends as "Nano" and is greatly loved and will be missed by many. LINSEY -- Martin L. Linsey, 94, of Los Lunas, NM, passed on March 3, 2010. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he has been a New Mexico resident for the past twenty-three years. He is survived by his wife, Maria Major Linsey; two sons, Robert of St. Louis, MO, and David of London, England; one daughter; Elizabeth of Aberdeen, NC; a nephew Peter of Park City, UT; two nieces, Barbara (Linsey) Monahan of Bozeman, MT., and Susan (Linsey) Binsfeld of Steamboat Springs, CO; four step-children; eight step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. LOPEZ -- Lucia Ester Lopez, age 96, a life-long resident of Pueblitos, NM, peacefully passed away in her sleep surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, March 1, 2010. Lucia was a family caretaker, an excellent seamstress and cook. She was the family historian and an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estevan and Aurelia (Marquez) Lopez; five brothers, Benito, Manuel, Filimon and wife, Emma, Eduardo "Lalo" and Lute "Eluterio" Lopez; two sisters, Amalia Martinez and husband, Jesus and Adelina Lugarda Martinez and husband, Sam; and sister-in-law, Diana "Speedy" Lopez. Lucia is survived by her two loving brothers, Espiridion "Pete" Lopez of Los Angeles, CA and Estanislado "Tane" Lopez of Pueblitos; two sisters, Onecima Duran and husband, Frank of Phoenix, AZ and Emilia Baca and husband, Odelio of Adelino, NM; special niece whom she reared, Margaret Douglas and husband, Dave of Ft. MCGLAUGHLIN -- Josie McGlaughlin, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. She was born on March 19, 1918, in Las Animas, CO. Josie is preceded in death by her husband, Bryan McGlaughlin; brothers, John Chavez, and Placido Chavez; sister, Pacomia Ronquillo; and loving daughter-in-law, Lera McGlaughlin. MCKOWN -- Mary Laura McKown went to her heavenly reward on March 2, 2010 in Albuquerque. She was born on January 7, 1927 in Ada, OK to H. Slade and Pearl B Norman. She married Omer "Mac" McKown on June 16, 1946 in Ada, OK. They were married for 61 years until his death on April 16, 2007. She was an Army wife and supported her husband on Army posts both in the United States and abroad. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution-Lew Wallace Chapter and Christ the King Anglican Church. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She died surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Spencer Norman McKown; her parents; sister, Jane Ann Amberson; and grandson, Thomas Stuart Smith. She is survived by her three daughters, Annette Smith and her husband, Carl, of Albuquerque, NM, Penelope "Penny" Arp and her husband, James, of Albuquerque, NM, and Christina "Chrissy" Adams and her husband, Ray, of Las Vegas, NV; and her sister, Nancy L. Hall, of Midwest City, OK. OBERST -- Alice Oberst, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her home in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mel; three sons, Mike, Andy, and Robb; three daughters, Angie, Linda, and Jane; their spouses; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Jack; and granddaughter, Lexi. Alice served as a Chaplin, Eucharistic Minister, and visited the elderly. Filled with the heart of a loving servant, Alice took great joy in her family and in giving care and concern to everyone. Alice was a model for selfless love. She will be missed by all. PAQUES -- Arthur Paques, 76, resident of Albuquerque, passed away January 11, 2010. He was born on May 17, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, OH, the only child of Octave and Agusta Paques. Art worked at Cooper Bessemer from 1952 until 1972. He and his family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1972 where he owned and operated ABC Moble Brakes until 1986. After that, and until his passing he was a successful entrepreneur, made beautiful sculptures, and was a skilled wood worker. A wonderful husband and father, Art is survived by his wife of 54 years, Millie; three daughters, Theresa Paques of Albuquerque, Diana Paques of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Patty Torres and husband Raul of Chamisal, NM; twin sons, John Paques of Mt. Vernon, OH and Jim Paques of Albuquerque; three granddaughters, Alex and Emily Bricker of Mt. ROGERS -- Patrick Daniel Rogers, 77, beloved husband for 47 years of Nancy L. Rogers, of San Diego, California, former resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico and native of Detroit, Michigan, went to be with the Lord, March 1, 2010. He was born May 4, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Patrick Joseph and Edna (McGann) Rogers. He was the oldest of five siblings, Mary, John, Sharon and Sheila. He married Nancy Kidder January 17, 1963, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. A dedicated alumnus of University of Detroit High School, he entered the seminary and served in the United States Air Force before attending University of Detroit, and then beginning a passion and career in construction and heavy-equipment sales in the Detroit Metropolitan area. His beautiful blue eyes and warm Irish smile made him a quick friend to many, be it, Laffrey's, Dunleavy's, Quarters or Sage, he always had a story to share with a new friend, and kept in touch with old friends through his final days. A long-standing member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Farmington Hills, Michigan, and aficionado of all things Catholic, Irish and athletic, he adored his precious family: wife Nancy; children and grandchildren Dianne and Paul Saber of San Diego (grandchildren Graham and Hannah), Sheilah and Paul DiLorenzo of Albuquerque (grandchildren Grace and Ella), and Patrick and Amber Rogers of San Diego (grandchildren Faith and Patrick Joseph (PJ)). RUSSO -- Carmine J. Russo, Sr., 86, passed away at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice on March 3, 2101. He was born on June 15, 1923 in Corona, NY the son of Liberante and Nancy (Greco) Russo. Mr. Russo was a resident of Albuquerque since 1948. Carmine spent 42 years in the electrical trade. He was a contractor and owner of Quality Electric and later served as an Electrical Inspector for the City of Albuquerque. He attended Harrion High School Aviation Annex, the Stinson School of Aeronautics; and he completed advanced electrical education in an apprenticeship program at UNM. Carmine was also a member of the IEBW. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lily. Other survivors are L. John Russo, Carmine Russo, Jr. and wife Jackie, Al Russo, Emerson Cole, Kusum Prabhakar, MD, and Nancy Vigil and husband Frank; eight grandchildren; David Russo, Dominick Russo, Alyssa Russo, Kayla Russo, Eli Vigil, Adele Vigil Karoum, Shawna Russo, Sonia Russo; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Occhipinti of New York. RUTKOWSKY -- Ada Hamilton Rutkowsky, 89, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010, just two weeks shy of her 90th birthday. She was born March 14, 1920, in Parrott, Virginia, one of eleven children. After being a long time resident of Arlington, Virginia, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Rutkowsky who passed away in 1966. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery where she will join him at a later date. Ada is survived by her daughter, Lana Hamilton and son-in-law, James "Woody" Dyche; grandson Bradley Hamill; great-granddaughters, Kaley and Laura Hamill, all of Albuquerque; and grandson Gregory Hamill; great-grandson, Ethan Hamill, of Richmond, Virginia; and sister, Lorene Howell, of LaCrosse, Virginia. SANCHEZ -- Helen Sanchez, born April 22, 1928 in Belen, NM and passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her parents, Enriquez and Perelgrina Sanchez; sisters, Josie S. Gallegos and Marcella S. Zeniceros. Helen is survived by her sisters, Gregorita Sanchez, Ismenia Gutierrez and husband, Felix, Gabriella Taylor and husband Bill, and Frances Gallegos; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews; as well as other family and friends who loved her and will miss her. Helen had a stroke six years ago and was provided care by her loving sister, Frances Gallegos, and her loving niece, Eleanor Gallegos. She loved to play bingo and was a chef and baker for Siglers cafeteria for many years until they closed. After that, she went to work for First National Bank until she retired in 1981. Services will be held at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter NE. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. STEIDER MCCAMPBELL -- Doris Steider McCampbell began her next journey on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at a youthful age of 85. She was an icon in the New Mexico art community and was also well known around the world by thousands of artists and collectors. Her innovative and masterful technique of painting was a unique, modern version of egg tempera, a medium used by many ancient masters. She graduated from Purdue University and earned her Masters degree in Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico. Doris inspired many in her personal and spiritual life, and was greatly loved by scores of family and friends. She defined beauty in countless ways as an artist and as a person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll McCampell, in 1999. She is survived by her long time friend and companion, Arbon Lang; her children Kris Latham and husband Gerald, Bob Steider and wife Brenda, Tim Steider and wife Amy; her step-children Jeff McCampbell and wife Patty, Joan Sleeter and husband David; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren with one more to arrive this summer. WESTERFELD -- Jane Foraker Westerfeld, 63, Jane was born in Albuquerque on July 24, 1946 where Jane married and raised her family and then moved to Artesia in 2004. She passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010 in Albuquerque. Jane is survived by her children: Art Westerfeld Jr and wife Becky, Wanda Westerfeld, Wade Westerfeld, all of Albuquerque and June Fisk and husband Jeff of Artesia. Grandmother of eight: Julianna Westerfeld, Zach Westerfeld, Colleen Westerfeld, Ryan Westerfeld, Nicole Stanford, Alex Stanford, Jeffrey Fisk and Anna Fisk. WINGFIELD -- Mary G. "Porgie" Wingfield, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Tom Wingfield, Sunday, February 28, 2010. She is survived by her only child, Debbie Herrera and husband, Rojo of Hawaii; grandchildren, Pattie of Colorado, David Wingfield of Hawaii, Will, Chrissie, Michael, Kaliko, Sadie, and Tonie, all of Hawaii; step-grandchildren, Allison and Derek of Delaware; foster grandchild, Leina'ala; and her dog, Foxy. Mrs. Wingfield was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Wingfield. Porgie graduated from Gallup High School and attended Colorado State University. Her husband Tom served and retired from the US Army. She accompanied her husband to many different posts prior to retiring to Albuquerque.
