Mary Laura McKown went to her heavenly reward on March 2, 2010 in Albuquerque. She was born on January 7, 1927 in Ada, OK to H. Slade and Pearl B Norman. She married Omer "Mac" McKown on June 16, 1946 in Ada, OK. They were married for 61 years until his death on April 16, 2007. She was an Army wife and supported her husband on Army posts both in the United States and abroad. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution-Lew Wallace Chapter and Christ the King Anglican Church. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She died surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Spencer Norman McKown; her parents; sister, Jane Ann Amberson; and grandson, Thomas Stuart Smith. She is survived by her three daughters, Annette Smith and her husband, Carl, of Albuquerque, NM, Penelope "Penny" Arp and her husband, James, of Albuquerque, NM, and Christina "Chrissy" Adams and her husband, Ray, of Las Vegas, NV; and her sister, Nancy L. Hall, of Midwest City, OK. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Nella Rogers, Spencer Lukesh (Desirey), Jericho Lukesh (Jordan MacDonald); and by five great-grandchildren, Paul and Stephen Pierce, Noel, LaNina, and Amanda Lukesh. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, or your favorite charity.
