LAVANDOSKI -- Theresa L. Lavandoski, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 6, 2008. She was a resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Theresa is survived by her two sons, Robert and his wife, Terry and Joseph; four grandsons, David, Steven, Ron and Tom; granddaughter, Jana Henton; great-grandsons, Collin and Nolan Henton; her sisters, Lillian Lyko and Alice Keck; and brother, Edward Koziol. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, daughter, Carolyn and granddaughter, Krista. Theresa lived her life with integrity and generosity. She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, opening her heart and home to everyone. she helped raise and care for not only her own children, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, determined spirit, and dedication to her family. She will be sorely missed. Services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARCELLI -- Teresa Anne Marcelli went to be with the Lord at sunrise on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. She was the beloved daughter of Frank and Ernestine Marcelli; loving mother of Antonio Archuleta and Ricardo (Rico) Bustos; caring sister of Rosemarie Nelson, Mariana and Walt Mestas, Tina and Ed Sanchez, Frank and Kathy Marcelli, John and Lisa Marcelli and Stephanie and Armand Giannini. She was a wonderful aunt to her 17 nephews and nieces. Teresa was born on February 23, 1956 and was a 1974 graduate of Valley High School. She was a generous and loving sister and friend. She loved Jesus and shared that love freely and with much enthusiasm. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town, 800 Rio Grande Blvd. NW (formerly the Old Town Sheraton). A reception will follow at the Hotel. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Children's Ministry at Calvary, 4001 Osuna Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. PASCETTI -- Melio Pascetti, age 95, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2008, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Giacinto and Angelina Pascetti, the son of Italian immigrants, and he grew up in Dawson, NM. Melio later moved to Albuquerque, NM and married his childhood sweetheart, Josephine Ann Cimino. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII, where he fought at Normandy during D-Day. Melio will be remembered for his amazing determination, optimism, and deep sense of commitment to his wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine; their children, son, George Pascetti and wife, Susan, of Durango, CO; daughter, Angela Scarberry and husband, Ted, of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Damian Pascetti, Ted Scarberry and his wife, Amanda, and Tim Scarberry; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, and Gio Pascetti; three brothers, Angelo, Valentino, and Jack Pascetti; and one sister, Carmen Lozano. Melio is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Pascetti; and his two brothers, Tom and John Pascetti. The Most Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 11, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoluem Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. PILKENTON -- Winnie F. Pilkenton, age 86, passed away Tuesday, April 08, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Pilkenton; and daughters, Linda Sue and Mary Ann Pilkenton. Winnie is survived by her son, Dan W. Pilkenton; and her sister, Ella Mae Burns. Winnie's family wishes to express our special thanks to Wendy Klein, of Hospice de la Luz, for the loving care she provided to Winnie. POLK -- Sally Eleanor Polk, 78, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008. She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Palo Alto, Ca., to Dudley and Alice DeGroot. Sal was brilliantly talented, highly accomplished, and touched many lives, both two-legged and four. Sal graduated from Monrovia High School in California, where she was a competitive swimmer and national caliber diver. She moved to New Mexico and attended UNM, where she competed on the rodeo team as a barrel racer. Her father coached the UNM Lobo football team, where she met the linebacker and end, Gene Polk. They were married in Amarillo, Texas, on November 8, 1952. After moving extensively with the oil field, they settled in Farmington in 1959 and resided there until 1976. During her 17 years in Farmington, she was very involved in many young people's lives. She and Gene founded the Farmington Boys Club, where they both coached Silver Gloves boxing. She coached the Tarpons swim team and started and coached the Farmington Fleetfooters AAU track team. She was a Cub Scout den mother, Brownie troop leader, and started a mounted Girl Scout drill team. In addition, she was a member of the Sheriff's Posse search and rescue. Every Halloween she entertained scores of young people as they came to the Polk's house and were greeted by a witch (Sal) and Frankenstein (Gene). While in Farmington, Sal started Polk's Arabians, where she raised and trained Arabian horses. In 1976, she moved to Sandia Park, in the East Mountains, where she continued her horse operation under the new name of Enchantment Arabians. Sal loved singing and became a part of the choir at the Community Church of the Sandias. She also decided to start competing in Senior track and field throwing events. In 1993, she won a bronze medal at the world games in Australia in the throwing pentathlon -shot, discus, javelin, hammer, and weight throw. She competed in the Senior Olympics, winning several medals, and went on to set a world record in the Hammer throw. She helped coach some of the Master competitors as well as coaching the thrillers at several area high schools including Mountaineer, where she moved in 1998. In 1995 she lost her leg due to complications from a horse riding accident. She then turned her attention to another one of her amazing talents, art. She was well known in Farmington for her sculptures and belt buckles she made for High School sports awards banquets. She did sketching, stain glass, ceramic, and Bronze sculptures. Many of her works were produced and shown by nationally famous Name Mills. She decided to expand her artistic expression to include leather and bodywork, in which she won best of show the last three years at the New Mexico state fair. One overriding love of Sal's throughout her life was that of all creatures great and small. She loved animals and would rescue anything that needed it. Her home was never void of many thankful creatures who were given a second chance. She also loved Irish Wolfhound dogs, having owned and bred many throughout the years. She is survived by her love of 56 years, Gene Polk; sisters, Dr. Alice DeGroot. and Nancy Dyeing; brother, Dudley DeGroot.; daughters, Kim Asleep, Line Denton, and Sand Withers; sons, Staff Polk and Fritz Polk; their spouses; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Mountain Christian Church, 12242 Hwy N. 14th in Cedar Crest.

VIGIL -- Consuelo B. Vigil, 28, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born March 2, 1980 in Albuquerque, NM to Henry L. and Lillie M. (Rosas) Romero. Consuelo is survived by her husband, Juan R. Vigil of their home in Albuquerque; her children, Juan Jr. and Alycia of Albuquerque; her mother and step-father, Lillie and Kenneth Orloff of Albuquerque; father, Henry Romero and companion, Ramona Benavidez, of Socorro; brother, Enrique Manuel Romero and fiance, Deandra Rodriguez, of Albuquerque; sister, Gabriella Romero and fiance, Robert Lisenbee, of Albuquerque; grandparents, Patsy Olague of Albuquerque, Helen Vigil of Santa Fe, NM; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Robert Vigil of Albuquerque; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father Andy Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Luis Lopez, NM cemetery. WALSH -- Rosemary Cowan Walsh, 78, died Monday, April 7, 2008, of heart failure. Rosemary was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 8, 1929. She moved to Salida, Colorado where she attended high school, then went to nursing school in Denver. She met and fell in love with Robert K. (Bob) Walsh in high school. They eloped to Raton, NM in 1950. They moved to Albuquerque where they brought up their four children. Bob and Rosemary moved to the Jemez Mountains in their retirement and lived there for 25 years until Bob passed away last fall. Rosemary leaves behind her four children, Rick Walsh and his wife, Melinda, Randy Walsh and his wife, Caren, and Roger Walsh, all of Albuquerque, and Robin Pratt and her husband, Michael, of Swaziland, Africa. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Austen, Skye, Rory and his wife, Delfina, Jocelyn and her husband, Leroy, Kerri, Casey, Marshall and his wife, Amber, Lee, Tyler, Jori, Beau, and Khetsi, and three great-grandchildren, Judea, Austin, and Beau. Rosemary is survived by her sister, Connie Jackson; and her husband, Walter, of Albuquerque; her brother, Jack Cowan and his wife, Helen, of Colorado; and two nieces, Debra and Tamara; and three nephews, Mike, Bryan, and Craig, and their families. They all brought much joy to her life. Rosemary was a happy and positive person. She was a devoted wife, and a caring mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always had a hug, a smile, and a kiss for all those she loved. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends, and made everyone feel welcome, no matter how many showed up for dinner. She was emotionally strong and a source of comfort, understanding, and unconditional love. She fought valiantly until the end. She deserves her rest and is already missed terribly. Rosemary's life will be celebrated with friends and family on Sunday, April 20, 2008, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with an Open House Reception at 9916 Lorelei Lane NE, Albuquerque. Rick Walsh (505) 797-2000.

BARRERA -- In Loving Memory of Elias Galindo Barrera Elias passed blissfully into the arms of God in Heaven surrounded by his dear loving family at sunset on April 3, 2008. He was accompanied by his eldest daughter, Esmeralda Barrera-Mikkelson; son-in-law, Kenny; and their children, Felisha, William, and Christopher. Despite some of his major health difficulties, when the bardo of dying began to dawn upon Elias, he remained strong and brave, with a sharp-minded consciousness! Elias was born August 30, 1934, in Abilene, Texas, to his parents, Manuela Galindo and Cleto Mora Barrera. The Barrera family then moved to Big Spring, where Elias married and had four children, Esmeralda, Manuela (Nellie), Yvette, Wyman, and Lee. Elias worked his entire life as an Auto-Body/Painter. Five years ago, Elias retired and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, Friday-night boxing, playing-pool, and bird watching. Until five years ago, Elias enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle to Sturgis. Elias will be missed by his familia and friends. He is survived by his children; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grand children; his sister, Rosa Abreo; brother, Cleto; great aunt, Manuela Barrera Sosa, of Anthony, NM; and many nieces and nephews. Elias, a man of Faith, our friend, grandfather, father, brother, and son will be deeply missed. "Just days ago your eyes sparkled full of life, we will always see your smile, we will always hear your laugh! Our lives will never be the same without you, Thanks for all the memorable years and guidance!" The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Angels at Zia-Hospice. Also, to Father Miguel and Richard Montag of Prince of Peace Catholic Church who visited Elias weekly at his home. A Rosary Service was held on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was held Monday, April 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the San Ramon Catholic Church in Woodrow with Reverend Nelson Diaz officiating. Burial followed at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on April 26, 2008, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Albuquerque.
