SULLIVAN -- Rawlie Sullivan, age 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, was called to Eternal Life, Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Rawlie was born on July 15, 1939, in Pueblo, CO and was a resident of Rio Rancho. After graduating from high school, he went into the United States Navy, then, went to college. He worked various jobs and spent about 18 years in the health care field. In 1975, he ventured into academia, where he was an night school supervisor and taught at Marymount college in Salina, KS, then went on to teaching at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. Rawlie married his wife, Mary Kay Kuhn, in 1977. He returned to school and earned his Ph.D. in Marketing in 1984. He taught at Kansas State University for two years. He taught at Bradley University in Peoria, IL for three years, also at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN for 17 years, where he attained the position of Full Professor and retired in 2004 and was awarded the status of Professor Emeritus. After retiring in 2004, he and his wife moved to New Mexico. Rawlie is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kay Sullivan; his daughter, Carla Adams and husband, Wayne, and their children, Skylar, Shechinah, Shayne, and Slayde; daughter, Nicole Leleux and her daughter, Jessica; his mother, Genia Whitwer; one brother, Michael Sullivan-Owens; one sister, Marilyn Street; sister-in-law, Dr. Nancy Kuhn and husband, Ted Diamandopoulos; aunt, Ethel Steinkirchner; uncle, Marshall Stephenson; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rawlie will be greatly missed by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. TRUJILLO -- Adelaido "Lalo" Trujillo, age, 83, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2008, at his home with his loving family around him. He was born to Emilio and Cruzita Trujillo in Las Vegas, NM. Lalo was a life-long resident of New Mexico and had a keen interest in sports, especially, boxing. He turned professional in the Las Vegas, NM boxing scene in the mid 1930's. He was a hard working, devoted husband, father, and brother; he married the love of his life, Demetria "Tita" Montoya, on October 4, 1947. Both Lalo and Tita were founding parishioners of Our Lady of Annunciation Church, and Lalo was a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus and attained a 3rd degree member. Lalo is survived by his beautiful wife, Tita; three children, Ricardo Trujillo, Edwin L. Trujillo, and Judy Payne Trujillo; and his grand children, Amber and husband, Steve McClure, Lara Trujillo Webb and husband, Jonathan, Gabriela Trujillo, Anika Trujillo, and Siembra Trujillo, Lisa and husband, Robert Sanchez, and Edwin Carlos Trujillo, Julie Ann Trujillo, Naomi Payne, and Eddie Matthews, and Wayne Travis, and Erik Johnson; and 12 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew and niece; Ollin Trujillo and his sister, Linda Trujillo. He is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Julio "Tino" Montoya and wife, Aurora; and sister-in-law, Helen Ortiz and husband, Arturo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lalo is preceded in death by his daughter, Lucille Trujillo Johnson. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary-Wyoming Blvd, Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008. at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE Albuquerque, NM. with Father Bennett J. Vorrhies as the Celebrant. The pallbearers include Ollin Trujillo, Joe Torres, Edwin Carlos Trujillo, Erik Johnson, Julie Ann Trujillo,and Travis Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers include Julio C. Montoya and four special honorary pallbearers, Steven and Harrison McClure, Anthony and Christian Sanchez. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. VALDEZ -- Clarissa Valdez died at the age of 46 on Saturday, April 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anita Martinez; and her brother, Daniel Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Martin Valdez, and three sons, Jacob, Lucas, and Adam Valdez. She is also survived by her father, Estolano Martinez, a brother, Robert Martinez and wife, Linda; sisters, Anita Mia Garcia and husband, Gilbert, and Maria Elena Maestas, all of Albuquerque, and sister, Rita Martinez, of Phoenix, and Linda Bassi and husband, Richard, of Rio Rancho. She is also survived by her father-in-law, George Valdez and wife, Elodia, of Bernalillo; and a brother-in-law, Abe Valdez and wife, Laura, of Albuquerque. She had a special place in her heart for St. Padre Pio. Clarissa was a graduate of the University of New Mexico, majoring in early childhood development. She truly enjoyed being a wife and mom, and she especially enjoyed working with her Calico family. She was beautiful, charming, and witty and an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. A Rosary will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose de Duranes Church located west of Rio Grande Blvd just off of Los Anaya Rd at 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW. Mass of Christian burial will be at San Felipe de Neri Roman Catholic Church on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. Internment will take place at Mt. Calvary, 900 Edith Blvd. NE. The family would like to express thanks to their numerous family and friends for their support and condolences. Special thanks goes out to Father Dennis Garcia, the Calico family, the PT staff at UNMH, and other supportive medical staff, Laura Valdez, Cynthia Baber, Geraldine Garcia, Michelle Rebarchik, Lisa Bonney and Debora Sponsel.
