Alice was known by family, friends, and strangers for her outspoken-ness and commensurate generosity. It was very common to hear "When I get older, I want to be just like Alice!" from anyone who came in contact with her. Besides serving as a mother and grandmother, Alice was a tough critic, but a good friend. She may have told you things about yourself you didn't want to hear, but she always had a compassionate and sympathetic ear. A simple service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2004, 2:30 p.m., at Laurel Heights Healthcare, 103 Hospital Loop NE in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests you hug a friend or help a stranger. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008.
