Alice B. Sisneros, 87, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2004 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Taos, New Mexico on March 29, 1917. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Santiago Sisneros and by her firstborn daughter, Leonore Sanchez. She is survived by daughter, Jennie Velarde-Sieff and husband Jim of Palmdale, CA; son, Joe T. Sisneros and partner Jerald M. Parr of Redondo Beach, CA; sons, Jim Sisneros, and Phil Sisneros and wife Debbie of Albuquerque. She is also survived by grandsons, Johnnie and Alfonso Romero of CA; Jake Sanchez of CA; Antonio Sanchez of Magdalena, NM; Patrick and David Sisneros of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, Alice Bach of CA. Alice is also survived by ten great-grandchildren. She retired from her job as a weapons technician at Los Alamos National Laboratory and resided in Albuquerque for the past 10 years; the last few years spent with Laurel Heights Healthcare resident center. Alice was known by family, friends, and strangers for her outspoken-ness and commensurate generosity. It was very common to hear "When I get older, I want to be just like Alice!" from anyone who came in contact with her. Besides serving as a mother and grandmother, Alice was a tough critic, but a good friend. She may have told you things about yourself you didn't want to hear, but she always had a compassionate and sympathetic ear. A simple service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2004, 2:30 p.m., at Laurel Heights Healthcare, 103 Hospital Loop NE in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests you hug a friend or help a stranger. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008.
