Obituary for CORDOVA

Benjamin Mora Cordova, 89, passed away on Christmas night. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances and grandson, Tomas. Ben is survived by his longtime companion, Dora Velasco and her six children, Isabel Martinez, Sylvia Velasco, Dora Patricia Candelaria, Belinda Mora, Corinne Sanchez, and David Velasco. Ben was a retiree of Sandia National Laboratories and a World War II Veteran. Ben and Frances had ten children; Benjamin Cordova, Jr. and friend, Victor Lopez of Albuquerque, children, Michael, Leon and Rachel, Isabel Cordova of Peralta, children, Bill and Ramon, Marty Hawkins and husband, Daniel of Victorville, CA, children, Dan, Jacob, Zachary and Melissa, Dyanne Klepper and husband, Mike of San Diego, CA, Ray Anthony Cordova and friend, Patterson Platero of Albuquerque, Joseph Cordova and friend, Janet Cordova of Albuquerque, children, Joseph Jr., Michelle and Jonathan, Aurelia "Jane" Cordova-Crews and husband, Dale of Albuquerque, child, Justin Pierce, Tommy Cordova and wife, Loretta of Albuquerque, children, Celina and Santiago, Stanley Cordova and wife, Lee of Albuquerque, Johnny Cordova and wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque, child, John Jr. Ben is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Nelson of Albuquerque; brother, Joe Cordova and wife, Priscilla of Mariposa, CA. Ben was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be forever in our thoughts. Cremation has taken place and a memorial Rosary will be recited Wednesday, December 29, 2004 7:00 p.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Memorial mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 30, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at San Jose Catholic Church. Private interment of cremated remains will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
