ARIAS -- TOM E. Mr. Tom E. Arias, 49, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 1, 2004. Tom is survived by his daughter, Clorinda Arias-Padilla and husband, Trinidad Sr.; three sisters, Patricia Otero and husband, Amadeo, Gerri Martinez and husband, Richard, Becky Valencia and husband, Paul; one brother, Gilbert Arias Jr.; two grandchildren, Trinidad Jr. and Sabreena; his aunt, Rose Aguirre; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Clorinda; his father, Gilbert Sr.; his brother, Ricky; and his sister, Marilyn (Tinker). Tom was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Terry Vargas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Interment of cremains will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. ARMIJO -- Jose Pablo Bruno Armijo, 60, born and raised in Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 24, 2004. He is survived by his seven children, Monica of Albuquerque, Brian of California, Angelica of Utah, Elena and Victor, both of Arizona, Amanda Jane of South Dakota and Jose of Albuquerque; special friend, Patricia of Albuquerque; three brothers, Emilio of Belen, Rick of Minnesota and Bill of Albuquerque; and two sisters, Maria and Christina, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Elena; his first wife, Margaret; son, Jose Jr.; daughter, JoEllen; and sister, Blondie. Mr. Armijo was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country during the Vietnam War. As a Staff Sergeant, he was a member of the "Enchilada Air Force", Fighter Wing of the 150th Air National Guard. Mr. Armijo was a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School. He was also an avid fisherman and an enthusiast of classic cars. Prayer services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, with Deacon Bob Lewis officiating. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., also at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. DUNN -- Chuck Dunn, age 72, of Santa Fe, passed away quickly and unexpectedly on Monday, August 2, 2004. An Easterner by birth, but Westerner by heart, Chuck and his wife, Gayle, moved to Santa Fe in 1996. Chuck was involved in the printing industry for all his adult working life, serving as the President of two large printing companies in Virginia and North Carolina until the 1980's, and then as the owner/operator, with Gayle, of Pronto Press in Covington, Virginia. Chuck and Gayle publish the Photomaps of Santa Fe, Old Town Albuquerque and Taos. Chuck never met a stranger, loved a great glass of wine and dearly loved his wife and best friend Gayle. He will be painfully missed by his wife and kids. GRISHAM -- Gregory Alan Grisham, beloved father of Taylor Marie and Erin Kimberely, who are his pride and joy, and loving husband of Michelle Lujan Grisham, was born to Wyndoleen and Wilber Grisham on September 25, 1958. He grew up in Albuquerque with a passion for horses and competed successfully in Arabian National Horse Shows. He graduated from Cibola High School and received his degree in economics from UNM where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and met Michelle, his wife of twenty-one years. As Director of Vertical Marketing at Basis International, he traveled throughout Europe and Asia, forming friendships wherever he went. Greg had an amazing zest for life and a sense of humor that endeared him to all he met. From the Follies at Alvarado Elementary to Valley Viking cheerleading, his enthusiasm for and involvement in his daughters' lives knew no bounds. He could always be counted on to lend a hand, not only to his parents and family, but to every friend who ever called. Greg will be sorely missed by other surviving family members, including brother, Michael Grisham and his wife, Carol Peckham, brother, Thomas Grisham and his wife, Deborah; sister, Sandra Grisham and her husband, Wayne Jordon, and sister, Debra Grisham; nieces, Sarah Grisham, Elizabeth Roybal and her husband, Rockie, Jennifer Niver, Susannah Stark and her husband, Michael, and Addie Jordon; and Shantel Lujan; nephews, Jeremy Grisham, Jason Niver and his wife, Cindy, John Grisham, and Max Jordon; Tony and Ryan Lujan; and by his great-niece, Stacey; by his in-laws, Dr. L. HALEY -- Frank Noah Haley, 22, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, August 2, 2004. HISAW -- Richard Lee Hisaw, Sr., 94, a resident of Las Cruces, NM for over 75 years, passed away on July 2, 2004 in Plano, Texas. He was born September 26, 1909 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was the oldest of six children born to James Harrison Hisaw and Mary Groves. He now resides in Heaven, joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 57 years, Lula Victoria Wiggins and his beautiful daughter, Murleen Head. Richard will be remembered as a gentle and determined man, with the gift for seeing the good in people. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, rock collecting and fishing. His prized catch was a 32 pound catfish. He was a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church in Las Cruces and was also a member of Carpenter's Local Union 1245 for 40 years. He was a residential and commercial builder with projects including Caballo Dam and various structures at NMSU. Richard is survived by his son, Richard L. Hisaw, Jr. and wife, Kathryn Rehm Hisaw of Plano, TX; brother, James Hisaw and wife, Patsy of Prineville, OR; son-in-law, Truman Head of Las Cruces; grandchildren, Vicki Berry and husband, Richard of Las Cruces; Michael Head and wife, Terri of Franklin, NC; Diane Paxton and husband, Perry of Anaheim, CA; Teresa Duane and husband, Thomas of Albuquerque, NM; and Ricki Hisaw and partner, Ken Rodriguez of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Rebekah Berry and Patrick Duane and special friend, Roberta Morrison. LOWE -- Charles I. "Chuck" Lowe joined his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, August 1, 2004, at Laurel View Healthcare. He was born Thursday, January 28, 1926 in Beloit, KS to Raymond and Esther May (Berry) Lowe. Chuck served in WWII with the 84th Infantry Division of the US Army, European Theatre. He married Louise Cazer of Loveland CO. He loved his Lord and Savior, was always very active in his church and serving His Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Esther Lowe, brother, Clarence and sister, Florence. MAREZ-MORTENSEN -- Shirley Ann Marez-Mortensen, 37, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2004. She came to New Mexico in 1976. Shirley was born October 10, 1966 the daughter of Lloyd Maurice and Laurencita Anna Vigil Marez in Puerto Rico. She had been a sales associate with Rio Rancho Printing before her death. Shirley loved selling Avon, loved her cats, and was devoted to her family. She volunteered with the Carrie Tingley Children's Hospital in their fund raising efforts like the Mud Volleyball and the Raspberry Home tour. Shirley is survived by by her husband, Keith M. Mortensen of Rio Rancho; one son, Cody Estevan Mortensen of Rio Rancho; her parents, Lloyd and Ann Marez of Rio Rancho; one sister, Debbie Baca of Albuquerque; two brothers, Eddie Marez of Rio Rancho, and Mark Marez of San Diego, CA; her father and mother-in-law, Herman and Norma Mortensen of Rio Rancho. RHUTASEL -- David Norlyn Rhutasel died on Sunday, August 1, 2004. He was born in Hampton, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rhutasel; his mother, Valera Rhutasel; sons, Stephen and his wife, Amy, and Darren Rhutasel; sisters, Diana Holbrook and Darla Church; brothers-in-law, Tom Church and Tom Sharp; and grandchildren, Mariah and Quentin Rhutasel. Mariah's ballet and choreography delighted him and he eagerly anticipated Quentin's baseball games. He loved Amy for her unfailing love and wisdom as the mother of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Davette. David attended the University of Texas at El Paso to study mechanical engineering. He helped to build CAC, an HVAC Service company. In 1998, he began his second career as an instructor at TVI. Teaching gave him great pleasure, and he planned to continue his new profession until well past the traditional time for retirement. A licensed pilot, David loved to fly, build model airplanes and play golf. He and his son Darren rode motorcycles together, each of them winning a collection of trophies in motorcross races. David was a member of the Lobo Club, and he and his son Stephen rarely missed a football game. He golfed with his friends Nick Walthall and Ed Caulder. Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Rev. Buddy Monahan, officiating. RIGGLE -- Lt. Col. Don Riggle, U.S. Air Force (Retired), 84, died on Sunday, August 1, 2004. He is survived by his son, Don E. Riggle, Jr., and wife, Karen Sue of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Trisha Pruett and husband, Bill, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Cptn. Kim Pruett- U.S. Air Force, of Macon, GA, Brian Pruett and wife, Karen; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth W. Riggle; and daughter, Dorothy Marie. Don was a member of Del Norte Baptist Church. He was a B-17 pilot during W.W. II and a P.O.W. after his plane was shot down. Don retired in 1971 after serving his country for over 29 years. He then taught math and electronics at TVI for 10 years. Don loved to travel and the outdoors, including fishing and hiking. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE with Dr. Robert Myers officiating. SANCHEZ -- Octaviana Sanchez, a former resident of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004, with her daughter at her side at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Octaviana spent most of her life in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She lived in Fort Collins for the last three and half years, where her daughter, Florence Witman and son-in law, Leon reside. Along with her daughter and son-in-law, Octaviana is survived by, a son, Benny Sanchez and wife, Mary Jo, brothers, Eulogio Serrano and wife, Lugarda, Cristobal Serrano and wife, Julia; sisters, Higinia Gore and husband, Bob; Celia Ulibarri and husband, Ernest, as well as 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Octaviana was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Higinia Serrano, her sisters, Aleja Suazo, Zenovia Doak and Adela Salazar. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her as she had a sharp wit, a sparkle in her eye and a loving spirit. As a cosmetologist, she spent her life bringing beauty to many. SCHULTZ -- Carl L. Schultz, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Schultz; son, Eric Schultz; grandson, Zachary Schultz and his mother, Lisa Schultz. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico. Carl served his country in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a retired school teacher from the Albuquerque Public Schools and was president of ACTA - Teachers union. He moved here from Chicago in 1945. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and his family will miss him dearly. Services will take place at Chester T. SEIDEL -- Harriet Anita Day Seidel passed on peacefully August 1, 2004, at C.C. Young Retirement Center in Dallas, TX, where she had been living since April of this year. Born on August 31, 1912, in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Albert F. Day and Ida Dorothy Day and had one brother, Louis A. Day. She will be remembered by many friends and family from her years with the Department of Energy (formerly Atomic Energy Commission Area Office) in Los Alamos, where she worked in the Human Relations office. She moved to New Mexico in 1947, and was employed by the Zia Corporation before joining the AEC. Among her duties was interviewing and assisting in the hiring of the police and fire personal and the security guard force for Los Alamos before it was turned over to civilian administration. Many of the senior members of the security guard force at the Los Alamos National Laboratory remembered her fondly years later. She retired in 1977, loved to travel and doted on her pets. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Dallas, two sons, Robert of Minneapolis, MN and Ron of Dallas; grandchildren, Jeff, Amanda and Mary Ruth; great-grandson, Luke;and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Martins and her husband, John.
