SEIDEL -- Harriet Anita Day Seidel passed on peacefully August 1, 2004, at C.C. Young Retirement Center in Dallas, TX, where she had been living since April of this year. Born on August 31, 1912, in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of Albert F. Day and Ida Dorothy Day and had one brother, Louis A. Day. She will be remembered by many friends and family from her years with the Department of Energy (formerly Atomic Energy Commission Area Office) in Los Alamos, where she worked in the Human Relations office. She moved to New Mexico in 1947, and was employed by the Zia Corporation before joining the AEC. Among her duties was interviewing and assisting in the hiring of the police and fire personal and the security guard force for Los Alamos before it was turned over to civilian administration. Many of the senior members of the security guard force at the Los Alamos National Laboratory remembered her fondly years later. She retired in 1977, loved to travel and doted on her pets. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Dallas, two sons, Robert of Minneapolis, MN and Ron of Dallas; grandchildren, Jeff, Amanda and Mary Ruth; great-grandson, Luke;and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Martins and her husband, John.
