Obituary for GRISHAM

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday August 04, 2004

Gregory Alan Grisham, beloved father of Taylor Marie and Erin Kimberely, who are his pride and joy, and loving husband of Michelle Lujan Grisham, was born to Wyndoleen and Wilber Grisham on September 25, 1958. He grew up in Albuquerque with a passion for horses and competed successfully in Arabian National Horse Shows. He graduated from Cibola High School and received his degree in economics from UNM where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and met Michelle, his wife of twenty-one years. As Director of Vertical Marketing at Basis International, he traveled throughout Europe and Asia, forming friendships wherever he went. Greg had an amazing zest for life and a sense of humor that endeared him to all he met. From the Follies at Alvarado Elementary to Valley Viking cheerleading, his enthusiasm for and involvement in his daughters' lives knew no bounds. He could always be counted on to lend a hand, not only to his parents and family, but to every friend who ever called. Greg will be sorely missed by other surviving family members, including brother, Michael Grisham and his wife, Carol Peckham, brother, Thomas Grisham and his wife, Deborah; sister, Sandra Grisham and her husband, Wayne Jordon, and sister, Debra Grisham; nieces, Sarah Grisham, Elizabeth Roybal and her husband, Rockie, Jennifer Niver, Susannah Stark and her husband, Michael, and Addie Jordon; and Shantel Lujan; nephews, Jeremy Grisham, Jason Niver and his wife, Cindy, John Grisham, and Max Jordon; Tony and Ryan Lujan; and by his great-niece, Stacey; by his in-laws, Dr. L. E. Lujan and his wife, Sonja, and their son, Gregory; and by his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Addie Jewell McCarty and Jesse and Addie Lee Grisham, and his wife's sister, Kimberely. Greg was a frequent blood donor during life and an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you celebrate Greg's life by donating blood and signing an organ donation card, and honor his memory by making a donation in his name to the Open Space Alliance, PO Box 9126, Albuquerque, 87199. Services will be held at the Shepherd of the Valley Church, 1801 Montano NW, Albuquerque, at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4th. Honorary pallbearers include Perry Kesler, Jace Eden, James Salmon, Tom Colberg, John Cisco, Dan Drury, Tom Gentry, Steve Lewis, Robert Maestas, and Greg Smith.
