Obituary for SANCHEZ

Octaviana Sanchez, a former resident of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004, with her daughter at her side at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Octaviana spent most of her life in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She lived in Fort Collins for the last three and half years, where her daughter, Florence Witman and son-in law, Leon reside. Along with her daughter and son-in-law, Octaviana is survived by, a son, Benny Sanchez and wife, Mary Jo, brothers, Eulogio Serrano and wife, Lugarda, Cristobal Serrano and wife, Julia; sisters, Higinia Gore and husband, Bob; Celia Ulibarri and husband, Ernest, as well as 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Octaviana was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Higinia Serrano, her sisters, Aleja Suazo, Zenovia Doak and Adela Salazar. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her as she had a sharp wit, a sparkle in her eye and a loving spirit. As a cosmetologist, she spent her life bringing beauty to many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
