Obituary for HISAW

Richard Lee Hisaw, Sr., 94, a resident of Las Cruces, NM for over 75 years, passed away on July 2, 2004 in Plano, Texas. He was born September 26, 1909 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was the oldest of six children born to James Harrison Hisaw and Mary Groves. He now resides in Heaven, joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 57 years, Lula Victoria Wiggins and his beautiful daughter, Murleen Head. Richard will be remembered as a gentle and determined man, with the gift for seeing the good in people. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, rock collecting and fishing. His prized catch was a 32 pound catfish. He was a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church in Las Cruces and was also a member of Carpenter's Local Union 1245 for 40 years. He was a residential and commercial builder with projects including Caballo Dam and various structures at NMSU. Richard is survived by his son, Richard L. Hisaw, Jr. and wife, Kathryn Rehm Hisaw of Plano, TX; brother, James Hisaw and wife, Patsy of Prineville, OR; son-in-law, Truman Head of Las Cruces; grandchildren, Vicki Berry and husband, Richard of Las Cruces; Michael Head and wife, Terri of Franklin, NC; Diane Paxton and husband, Perry of Anaheim, CA; Teresa Duane and husband, Thomas of Albuquerque, NM; and Ricki Hisaw and partner, Ken Rodriguez of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Rebekah Berry and Patrick Duane and special friend, Roberta Morrison. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff and friends at Colonial Lodge in Plano, Texas. Pallbearers will be Duane Andrews, Richard Berry, Thomas Duane, Michael Head, Ed Helsel and Perry Paxton. Services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 10:00 at Graham's Mortuary Chapel, 555 W. Amador, Las Cruces, NM with Pastor John Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road. Family and friends are invited to a reception following burial at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church, 1122 6th Street. Service arrangements are with Graham's Mortuary.
