Shirley Ann Marez-Mortensen, 37, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2004. She came to New Mexico in 1976. Shirley was born October 10, 1966 the daughter of Lloyd Maurice and Laurencita Anna Vigil Marez in Puerto Rico. She had been a sales associate with Rio Rancho Printing before her death. Shirley loved selling Avon, loved her cats, and was devoted to her family. She volunteered with the Carrie Tingley Children's Hospital in their fund raising efforts like the Mud Volleyball and the Raspberry Home tour. Shirley is survived by by her husband, Keith M. Mortensen of Rio Rancho; one son, Cody Estevan Mortensen of Rio Rancho; her parents, Lloyd and Ann Marez of Rio Rancho; one sister, Debbie Baca of Albuquerque; two brothers, Eddie Marez of Rio Rancho, and Mark Marez of San Diego, CA; her father and mother-in-law, Herman and Norma Mortensen of Rio Rancho. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with Rev. Richard Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Normandy, Craig Mortensen, Jim Johnson, Jeff Burdick, Linden Davis, and Thomas Khan.
