Duran -- Hope G. Duran, 79, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, July 22, 2001. She is survived by her son, Robert Teller and wife, Robin; grandson, Stephen Teller; granddaughter, Ellesse Teller, all of Los Alamos; sisters, Ramona Montoya, Lucy Garcia, Dora Apodaca and husband, Phillip and Jill Ruble, all of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Duran. Hope retired from the Albuquerque Police Department in 1984 as a finger print supervisor. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Mary and Antonette Morales reciting. Gallegos -- Dick A. Gallegos, 79, died Monday, July 23, 2001 at his home in Socorro, NM. He was born August 26, 1921 to Andres and Labradita (Gonzales) Gallegos in Tokay, NM. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Viola Gallegos; brothers, Santiago, Johnny, Tony and Andres Jr.; and sister, Pauline Garcia. Gilmore -- Nathan Allen Gilmore, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 25 years, died Saturday, July 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel M. Gilmore; daughter, Gerry L. Sass and husband, Richard, of Cloudcroft, NM; daughter, Gayle M. Huelsmann, of Albuquerque, and her friend, Dale Causey; daughter, Gwen A. Crissman and husband, Kim of Albuquerque; daughter, Ginger B. Gilmore of Albuquerque; sister, Jenny Lind Stubblefield, of Waco, Texas; grandson, Eric P. Huelsmann; several nieces; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca Gayle Fellers; and his sisters, Florence Lenhart and Frances Porter. Nathan joined the Navy in 1941 and was a licensed GAA Aircraft and Engine Mechanic Mate F Flight Engineer. He was honorably discharged on May 10, 1946 and started his own business, Gilmore Lumber and Millwork in Waco, Texas. He moved his family to Artesia, New Mexico and worked at Denton Lumber Company until 1969. At that time he relocated to Navajo, New Mexico where he was a manager at Navajo Forest Products Industries. A final move would bring the family to Albuquerque where he worked at Trademasters Construction, Inc. until his retirement. Nathan was a master wood craftsman and custom cabinet builder. He enjoyed fishing, boating and gardening. The family wishes to thank all of those who prayed for Nathan throughout his lengthy illness. Services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Grodner -- Jeremy Vachio Grodner, 26, Passed away Saturday, July 21st 2001, as a result of a motorcycle accident. Hall -- Col. Jasper C. Hall, USAF (Ret.), passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2001. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1965. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Judy Runner and husband, Gary of Houston, TX and Jo Anne Hall of Alamogordo, NM; grandsons, Robert Buckley, Jr. and wife, Kelly and Eric Buckley and wife, Kelly; and great-grandson, Jacob Buckley. Jasper was proud to serve his country in World War II and the Korean War. He flew 65 missions in the B-26 in Europe with the 344th Bomber Group. Healy -- Marie Jeanne Healy, age 81, died Monday July 23, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Michael Healy of Albuquerque, Kevin Healy of Colorado, Brian Healy of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Adele and Kathryn Healy of Illinois, and Brendon and Nicole Healy of Colorado. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Brendon Healy in 1988 and her son, Dennis Healy in 1999. Mrs. Healy worked as a Registered Nurse in Public Health for over 50 years. Lucero -- Julia Lucero, 95, a longtime resident of Bernalillo, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2001. Julia was born July 6, 1906 the daughter of Hilario and Natividad Cordova Lujan in Sabinoso, New Mexico. Jula was preceded in death by her husband Leonardo Lucero. Lynch -- Elaine M. Lynch, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 22, 2001. She is survived by her sister, Kay Baker Gill; her niece, Jan Baker Corzine; her grandnephew, Jim Corzine, and her niece's husband, Norm Corzine. Elaine earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, attended graduate school at the University of Chicago, and received a Masters in Social Work from Denver University in 1960. She was a retired executive with the American Red Cross where she had a distinguished 39 year career. Elaine joined the Red Cross during World War II, during which she served in military hospitals in England and subsequently in field and general military hospitals in France. She then had Red Cross field director assignements in Korea, Japan, Germany and in various military hospitals at bases throughout the U.S., including Sandia Base in Albuquerque. Elaine served as Assistant Director of Red Cross Hospital Services in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and then becamse Director of Reporting in Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Elaine completed her career at the local chapter of the Red Cross. After her retirement, she continued serving others through her volunteer work as a board member of both the local chapter of the Red Cross and St. Francis Gardens Nursing Center, and as an active participant in the Assistance League, the Ombudsman Program for the Elderly and the Gamma Phi Beta Alumnae Association, among other organizations. A private memorial service for Elaine will be held at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church with the Reverend Jim Trainor officiating. Martinez -- Mr. Ruben R. Martinez passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2001 at a local hospital with his loving children at his bedside. Ruben was born in Pharr, Texas on February 11, 1923. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sadie Naranjo Martinez and brother, Arthur Martinez. He served in WWII under Gen. Patton and he was a Purple Heart Veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a combat engineer serving in five military campaigns. He owned and operated his own Auto Body Business in the Albuquerque area for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the Jemez River and mountains where he grew up. He had tremendous faith and was a life long member of the Catholic Church. He had a special love for his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a generous, compassionate father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Wright and husband, Raymond Sr., Karen Aceves and husband Henry, Laura Martinez and Lorraine Martinez, son, Michael Martinez and wife Frances, grandchildren, Raymond E. Wright Jr. and wife, Stephanie, Reina E. Wright, Erin and Ashley Aceves, Sadie Martinez, Christina Martines and husband, Vicente and Ruben G. Meador -- On July 23, 2001 the angels came for Josephine Meador, our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma. She passed away peacefully after enjoying many years of her finest pastimes such as gambling, smoking and two daily Budweisers. Rider -- Harold Rider, 98, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Monday, July 23, 2001. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Marion Lucas Rider; son, Allan Rider and daughter-in-law, Debbie of Sandia Park; daughter, Kathy Solomon and son-in-law, Brian of Sandia Park; daughter, Mary Crockett and son-in-law, Fred of Casper, WY; seven grandchildren, Gen Canada and husband, Roy, Jason Solomon and wife, Jennifer, Sarah Erb and husband, Christian, Sue Crockett, Joshua Rider, James Crockett, and Leanna Crockett; five great grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna and Justin Solomon, and Andrew and Jessica Canada; four sisters, Marion Taylor, Sybil Roluti, Winifred Sheldon, Kathryn Hobbs, and brother, Robert Rider. Harold was born in Kansas on March 7, 1903. His family moved to Colorado when he was a teenager, and they farmed in the Salida, CO area. While living in this area he also worked for a time at the mines in Silverton, CO. In the 1920s, Harold and his brother Robert went to work as cowboys on a ranch in Wyoming. His parents moved to New Mexico and started farming in the Sandia Park area. They were struggling to make ends meet, and Harold moved to New Mexico to help them farm in 1930, and made New Mexico his home. Harold met Marion in Sandia Park where they were married in 1940, and together they raised three children. In 1947, when conditions became too dry to farm, he went to work for the Campbell Farming Corporation and managed the San Pedro Land Grant where he raised cattle until he retired in 1975. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, raising tomatoes, playing with his grandchildren, and taking drives up the Sandia Mountains with Marion. One of his favorite pastimes was to work in his orchard on his old Ford tractor. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001, 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Roy Canada officiating. Rogers -- Betty Kerr Rogers, 58 entered into eternal rest July 20. She is survived by her husband of more than 38 years, Joe Rogers, their daughters and spouses, Sherri and Gerry Corley, Michele and Peter Rivas; and one son, Mack Rogers of Texas; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel and Bobby Matson, Caitlyn and Gwendolyn Corley, Mack's son, Christopher, Celeste, Peter and Timothy Rivas. She also leaves a sister, Carol Kerr Lopez (Blue) and nephew, Travis Kerr. Betty came to Albuquerque in 1962 with the U.S. Women Army Corps. And made New Mexico her home for most of the next 30 years. She was a skilled medical transcriber and is fondly remembered by friends and former co-workers in N.M. and East Texas where she and Joe have resided for the past 10 years. We know her body has succumbed to the ravages of cancer but her spirit and her wry sense of humor lives on in those near and dear to her. Via Condios. Sanchez -- Jose "Joe" M. Sanchez, 73, passed away July 23, 2001. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, he was born in Cubero, NM., and retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #99, the D.A.V., and Holy Spirit Church. Joe is survived by his wife, Corina Sanchez; children, Joe Sanchez Jr. and wife, Helen, Miles Sanchez, Fr. John Baca and wife, Romey, Debbie Giguere and husband George, and Yvonne Blumberg; sisters, Nora Arguyo and husband, Joe, Connie Fleming, Henrietta Biggs and husband, Richard, Florella Buck and husband, Roland; brother, Jimmy Sanchez; ten grandchildren; two great-grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Holy Spirit Canadian Catholic Church, with a service of celebration on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2001. Sedillo -- Helen, 78, passed away July 24, 2001. A native New Mexican, she was raised in Albuquerque, lived several years in Norwalk, CA., and returned to Albuquerque in 1983. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sedillo, and is survived by her sons, Freddie Sedillo, Ray Sedillo, John Sedillo, and Anthony Sedillo; daughter, Patricia Arroyo; brother, Salamon Cordova; grandchildren, Sherri, Jennifer, Janice, Joseph; numerous great-grandchildren; other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2001. Stuht -- Ronald Richard Stuht died July 21, 2001. He was born April 1, 1941 in Menomenie Falls, Wisconsin. He is survived by his loving wife, Paula; sons, Randall (Randi) Stuht, Richard (Angela) Stuht; and daughter, Cindy (Rodney) Lewis. His life is celebrated through his nine grandchildren; Kaylee Stuht, Christopher Stuht, Phillip Stuht, Matthew Armenta, Ashley Armenta, Danielle Stuht, Amber Stuht, Andre Lewis and Keith Lewis. Ron began a career with AT&T in 1964 in New Mexico. In 1976, he transferred to Mountain Bell where he worked until his retirement in 1986. From 1987 to 1991, he served as the Director of the Gilbert Arizona Chamber of Commerce. Later he moved to Tucson where he became the Governmental Affairs Director and Lobbyist for the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. In that final endeavor of his life as with all before, he worked diligently, accomplished much, and made many, many cherished friends. He lived his life with vigor and purpose. He was kind to those he met, and was a pillar of strength to those who loved him. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made to Carondelet Hospice Services."We love you Dad, and we look forward to being in your care for eternity."

Zachry -- Violette Moore Zachry, 91, died Saturday, July 21, 2001. She is survived by her 12 nieces and nephews. Violette is preceded in death by her husband, W. Ray Zachry, of 42 years. Violette was born June 18, 1910 in Doster, Kansas, the fifth child born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Virginia Moore and the only girl in the family of seven brothers. She attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas and Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. She received a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1936. She attended graduate school in music at Northwestern University the summers of 1938 and 1939. She taught music in the public school systems of Sedgwick (1936-1938) and Herington (1938 & 1942), Kansas and Dubuque, Iowa (1934-1944). Her talents as a visual artist and as a writer and recorder of history and family memories she discovered late in life. After her husband's death in 1987, and at the age of eventy-nine, she began painting with watercolors and oils. In 1992, at the age of eighty-two, she began writing ¯"The Most Difficult One", an autobiography, which she finished in 1997. Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2001, 1:30 p.m, at First Presbyterian Church, Dr. Paul Debenport, officiating and assisted by The Reverend Myron White.
