Obituary for Lucero

Julia Lucero, 95, a longtime resident of Bernalillo, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2001. Julia was born July 6, 1906 the daughter of Hilario and Natividad Cordova Lujan in Sabinoso, New Mexico. Jula was preceded in death by her husband Leonardo Lucero. She is survived by her children, Ray Lucero and wife Molly, Frank (Jose) Lucero and wife Carrie, Alonzo Lucero all of Bernalillo, NM; Richard Lucero and wife Martha of Hacienda Heights, CA; Josie Layva of Brea, CA; Beatrice Hernandez of Los Angeles, CA; and Step-daughter, Mary Duran of Bernalillo, NM; one sister, Mary Buelna of West Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Sam Lujan and wife Louise of Apple Valley, CA; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Bernalillo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 27, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Bernalillo. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Rio Rancho Nursing Center and the staff of the Manzano del Sol Care Center for the loving care of their mother.
