Sanchez -- Jose "Joe" M. Sanchez, 73, passed away July 23, 2001. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, he was born in Cubero, NM., and retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #99, the D.A.V., and Holy Spirit Church. Joe is survived by his wife, Corina Sanchez; children, Joe Sanchez Jr. and wife, Helen, Miles Sanchez, Fr. John Baca and wife, Romey, Debbie Giguere and husband George, and Yvonne Blumberg; sisters, Nora Arguyo and husband, Joe, Connie Fleming, Henrietta Biggs and husband, Richard, Florella Buck and husband, Roland; brother, Jimmy Sanchez; ten grandchildren; two great-grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Holy Spirit Canadian Catholic Church, with a service of celebration on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2001. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30pm. Pallbearers will be Elfego Duran, Johnny Baca Jr., Robert Sanchez, Mike Duran, Dennis Gutierrez, and Juan Velasquez.
