Blumenfeld -- Arthur A. Blumenfeld died peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2000, after a fourteen-year fight against lymphoma and myelodysplasia. He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann Blumenfeld; daughter, Willow Harth; grandson, Ben Diller and his wife, Mari; and his great-granddaughter, Hana. Art is preceded in death by his sons, Cameron and Daniel Reid. He is also survived by his mother, Lee Blumenfeld; brother, Gerald Blumenfeld; sister, Carole Rosenberg; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends. He will be sorely missed. In spite of his illness, Art remained active up until six months ago. Art was an expert on New Mexico economics, taxation, and finance. His advice was sought by many. Art graduated with a BBA and an MBA from the University of New Mexico and a PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado. He directed the Bureau of Business Research and served on the Business School faculty for many years until he became Director of Finance and Administration for the City of Albuquerque in 1974. In 1989, he was appointed the City's Chief Administrative Officer by Mayor Louis Saavedra. Art served on the board of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada and was elected president of GFOA, serving in 1984-85. He was elected to the Anderson Schools of Management Foundation Hall of Fame in 1991. For many years, Art served on the Board of Directors of the NMSO and the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology. Recently, he served on the board of the Explora Science Center and Children's Museum of Albuquerque. He was also active on the Bernalillo County Audit Committee, chaired the advisory Committee of the UNM School of Public Administration, and served on the Board of Advisors on Schools for the Management Foundation. He enjoyed this service and always gave freely of his time and experience. Art was a strong advocate of City-County consolidation of Albuquerque/Bernalillo County governments, and was very involved in the campaign for constitutional amendment #1. Art and his family enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities; bird watching has been a hobby since 1966. He was an excellent wildlife photographer. He was very active in the cultural life of the city and state. The family would like to thank Dr. Clark Haskins, the doctors, nurses, and staff of the New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants, Ltd., as well as, the nurses and staff of Unit 5B Presbyterian Hospital for their compassionate and professional care over many years. Carrillo -- Michael Steven Carrillo, 43, passed away November 5, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Marie Carrillo-Marquez, and Lynette Carrillo; sister, Cheryl Burch-Rudder; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him. Chavez -- Gilfred Allen Chavez, 46, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2000. His grandparents Epifanio and Frances Chavez, Nicholas Sanchez, and a sister, Priscilla Chavez preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving parents, Gilfred and Priscilla Chavez; his twin brother, Wilfred Allan Chavez and wife, Dianne; his sisters, Debbie Leach and husband, Jeff, Kathleen Richardson and husband, Bill, and Patricia Wagy; his nieces and nephews, Eric, Tisha, Matthew, and Molly; his friend, Rev. Will Steinsick; and many more family members and friends. Though we are profoundly sad at the loss of our brother, son, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend in a violent manner, we share a peace because we know that Gil knew the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 8:28 shares that"All things work together for the good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose." Gil's struggle with alcoholism is over and he is in his eternal home. Childs -- Sherry L. Childs, 53, a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away Friday, November 3, 2000 surrounded by her loving family. Cleland -- Loretta June Cleland, 80, died in Albuquerque, NM on November 6, 2000. She was born in Harrisburg, PA and moved to Albuquerque 33 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Church of the Risen Savior. Mrs. Cleland was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Cleland, Jr. in 1981 and by a son, Timothy Robert Cleland in 1984. She is survived by her children, Sherry Farmer and husband, David and Michael Cleland and wife, Kim; and by two grandchildren, Sean Farmer and Paige Cleland, all of Albuquerque. Davis -- Ellen R."Mom" Davis, 76, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, passed away November 7, 2000. She was an active member of a fund-raising organization-United Court of the Sandias, Friend of EMCC, and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her family in Albuquerque, Andy Davis, Linda Davis and Michael Shell; daughters, Rosemary Miller of New England, Jennie Logsden of Texas, Penny Woods of Ohio, Katherine Suzanne Davis of Kansas; son, James Davis Jr. of Texas; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Erwin -- Virginia McKnight Erwin, an admired and well-liked member of the Albuquerque community for 84 years, has died peacefully at her home. Virginia, daughter of Virgil Randolph and Mary Owens McKnight, grew up at the corner of 5th and Marquette, the present site of the 500 Marquette Bldg., and attended 4th Ward School, Washington Jr. High, and Albuquerque High School, where she was Miss AHS of 1932. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with both a Bachelors and Masters in four years and was"It Queen" in 1934. She taught school for a year in Roswell, NM. and returned to Albuquerque to teach English at UNM to many of her peers. In 1939, she married the love of her life, Robert Owen Erwin, who was from an New Mexico Military Institute family. Virginia, who was affectionately known as"Dinnie," was an accomplished watercolor artist, a talented vocalist, and a voracious reader. She enjoyed the arts, traveling the world, playing bridge, and tending to her rose garden, but her most treasured passion was always her family. she was ever the gracious lady. Her quick wit, sparkling personality and warm smile endeared her to all she met and all who knew her. She will live in our hearts forever. Virginia belonged to many clubs and organizations, among them Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Junior League, Child Study Group, the Book Club, the Old Glass Club, the Old Bridge Club, Chapter"E" of P.E.O., the Albuquerque Country Club, and was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by Robert, her devoted husband of 53 years, her daughter Suzanne, and her sister, Mary Helen Hendrix. She is survived by her adoring daughter and son-in-law, Mary Virginia (Mollie) and Robert Duff Custer; and her granddaughter, Erin McKnight Custer, the light of her life; she is also survived by her much loved nephews, G.G. (Tres) and Virgil R. (Randy) Hendrix. A private burial service was held shortly after her death. Garcia -- Frances M. Garcia, age 80. On November 3, 2000 our beloved mother was taken into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father to be reunited with her husband Tobias Garcia who preceded her in death on November 4, 1982. She was born in Magdalena, NM. and resided in Albuquerque for the last sixty years. She was a loving and caring person who lived each day in faith according to God's will. Hassan -- Ruth Dawn (Sauerwein) Hassan passed away in Albuquerque, NM. on Tuesday, October 31, 2000. She was born in Belleville, IL. on March 21, 1925. Marchiando -- Carol G. Marchiando, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Sunday, November 5, 2000. Martin -- Sam Martin, a local artist, died on November 4, 2000 at Presbyterian Hospital of a sudden illness. he was 76 years old. Sam is survived by his wife, Nancy St. Clair; and his three children, Rita Martin of San Anselmo, CA., Cheryl Martin-Schroeder of Fulton, NY., and Laurence Martin of Syracuse, NY; he has three stepdaughters, Jennifer Rowntree of Bozeman, MT., Suzanneh Rountree of Winthrop, WA. and Heather Rowntree of Carmel. CA; he is also survived by five grandchildren and his loving dog Hama. Sam grew up in Syracuse, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For 37 years, he acted as Research Director at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. During his tenure at the Health Science Center, he was awarded the Chancellor's Award for Excellence. He moved to Albuquerque after he retired in 1988 to pursue his art interests. Martinez -- Julia Andazola Martinez, 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 7, 2000 while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Martinez came from a family which were early pioneers to settle in Dawson, NM. She was a resident of Albuquerque and a parishioner of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Bernardino Martinez of the family home; two sons, Henry Reza and wife, Mary Frances, Rudy Martinez and wife, Mary both of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; also surviving are one brother, Simon Andazola and wife, Martha of Albuquerque; three sisters, Lupe Grano, Beatrice McSweeney, Mary McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Massion -- Olga Massion, 101, a resident of Albuquerque for 22 years, passed away Monday, November 6, 2000 at a local nursing home. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 4, 1899 to the late Charles and Mathilda Goblisch. Olga worked in food service as a salad maker. She is survived by daughter, Dolores L. Mccauley -- John W.¯Jack McCauley, 83, an Albuquerque resident since 1929, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Helen L. McCauley of Albuquerque; son, Keith McCauley of Newport Beach, CA; daughter, Sherrie Lynn Herbert and husband, Larry of Egypt; three grandchildren; sister, Gladys Gosche of Denver, CO. Moorhead -- Davide Paul Moorhead, 44, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home on Friday, November 3, 2000. He was born in Gallup, NM on January 23, 1956 to June Prigmore Robertson, of Albuquerque, NM. and George W. Moorhead, of Phoenix, AZ. David served in the US Coast Guard and US Navy in the 1970's, and owned and operated a pool maintenance business. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Bert Prigmore of Albuquerque. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two children, Joan Moorhead, of Albuquerque and Jonathan D. Conklin, of Sycamore, PA; three brothers, Allan Moorhead of Phoenix, AZ, Joel Moorhead of Elko, NV and George Moorhead of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Perea -- Mrs. Candelaria Perea died Tuesday in Albuquerque at the age of 84. Mrs. Perea was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose J. Perea and brother, Antonio Sanchez. She is survived by her sons, Richard Perea and Benny Perea; daughters, Pat Bird and Gloria Perea; brothers, Ruperto Sanchez and Marcos Sanchez; sisters, Pablita Chavez and Telesfora Sena; grandchildren, Andy Perez, Marcos Sanchez, Rhonda Perea and Richard Lee Perea; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Perez, Brittany Perez and Alejandra Perea. Silva -- Josephine Silva, 91, passed on to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 5, 2000. She was born on August 22, 1909 to Samuel and Feliciana Gonzales in Los Hueros, NM. She came from a loving family of seven brothers and four sisters. She was a resident of New Mexico for 75 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose extraordinary caring, generosity, and love will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by brothers, Andy Gonzales of Las Lunas, NM., Robert Gonzales and wife, Julie of Bosque, NM; sister, Elma Green of California; sons, Floyd Silva and wife, Pat, Clarence Silva of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Dixie Bella Covate; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Standefer -- Carl Joe Standefer passed away on November 5, 2000. He was born on February 9, 1927 in Pushmataha County in Oklahoma. He served on the Eunice Fire Department from 1944 to 1971 and was with the State Fire Marshalls Office from 1971 until retirement in 1992. He retired as the Sate Fire Marshall. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 13 at the First Baptist Church in Eunice.

Trujillo -- Mr. Justo A. Trujillo died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 66. Mr. Trujillo was a Navy Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 69. He is survived by his sisters, Marcella T. Sena, Reina Trujillo and Cecilia Trujillo; one son; two grandchildren; and his long time special friend, Sabina Gurule. Funeral services for Mr. Trujillo will be held on Thursday at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A rosary for Mr. Trujillo will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Wilson -- Hope I. Wilson, 95, a 30 year resident of Albuquerque died Wednesday, October 25, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Martin & husband, Jim of Albuquerque; a granddaughter, San Burnham of Golden, CO; grandsons, Mark Daugherty, Grant Daugherty & wife, Cindy and Jeff Daugherty & wife, Noelle, all of Albuquerque; a niece, Jean Zamecnik & husband, Norman of Lyndhurst, OH; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack Voelzow, Ed Schroeder, and Lester Wilson and a sister, Evelyn Wilson. Three brothers, Howard, Ferdinand, and Russell Treter and a granddaughter, Melanie Daugherty. In 1970, she moved to Albuquerque to be near her daughter and her family. While living in Albuquerque, Hope was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She lived at Three Fountains Apartments for 20 years, then moved to La Vida Llena Retirement Community in 1991 where she received excellent, tender, loving care. Private graveside services were held in Cleveland, Ohio on Oct. 31. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 10, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at La Vida Llena Retirement Community Chapel, 10501 Lagrima De Oro Rd. N. E. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, N. M. Chapter, 1330 San Pedro Dr. N. E., or to the Full Life Foundation at La Vida Llena, Albuquerque N. M.

Wolf -- Margaret W. Wolf, 91, loving mother and grandmother, passed away in Morrison, CO on October 30, 2000. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell, whom she married on January 5, 1936 in Albuquerque. She is survived by four sons, Norman Wolf of Farmington, NM, Paul Wolf of Las Vegas, NV, Allen Wolf of Whitefish, MT, and Gary Wolf of Lincoln, KS; one daughter, Carol Wolf of Lakewood, CO; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Settle and wife, Mary of Santa Fe Springs, CA; and sister, Eleanor Settle of Los Lunas. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. James W. Gilbert; second husband, Andrew Wright; and daughter, Suzanne Gilbert Brown. She was a member of Baptist Church Planters Missionary Church, General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Mrs. Wright supported the Youth Organization at the Cedar Road Missionary Church, Osceola, IN; and supported the new Christian Duo Musical Praises at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Belen.
