Hassan -- Ruth Dawn (Sauerwein) Hassan passed away in Albuquerque, NM. on Tuesday, October 31, 2000. She was born in Belleville, IL. on March 21, 1925. Mrs. Hassan graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. in 1944 and had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1981. Survivors include her husband, Samuel A. Hassan of Albuquerque; her father, Roy Sauerwein of Albuquerque; three children, Michael of Albuquerque, Gayle Francois of Titusville, FL., and Britt of Bloomington, IL; also surviving are six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel (corner of Wyoming and Paseo del Norte). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to New Mexico Chapter, Alzheimer's Association, 1330 San Pedro NE, Suite 205, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
