Araiza -- Alejandro Araiza died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 19. Funeral services for Alejandro will be held on Friday at the San Jose Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary for Alejandro will be recited on Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.

Benham -- Robert G. Benham, 83, was born in Bernalillo in 1914 of life long New Mexico families. Bob spent his early life and schooling in Gallup, NM and went to Printer's School in New York. He married Florence E. Shanks in 1937. He worked at the Gallup Independent Newspaper until he moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1945. He worked for the Albuquerque newspapers for a while then moved to the Valliant Printing Company, retiring in 1979. Bob is survived by his wife, Florence Benham; son Robert A. Benham and wife, Susan; daughter, Mary Joan Windes and husband, Thomas C.; seven grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew; brother, Walter Lee Benham, all of Albuquerque; and sister-in-law, Virginia H. Shanks of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Benham Cooper. Bob and Florence became members of First United Methodist Church and the Quester's class in 1945, and have remained faithful supporters ever since. Bob was active in Scouting and Demolay (he served as the NM State Master Councilor) both as a member and advisor. He was active in Masons, Temple Lodge #6 A.F.&A.M., and he was a member of the Typographical Union. He was a good, faithful and loved husband and father, always giving his time and love to his family. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, at 1:30 p.m. on October 9 1998, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Private disposition will take place. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Williams, Jim Yeager, Don Williams, Lee Benham, Connor Windes, Todd Windes and Alan Benham. Conarty -- David Alain Conarty, 33, died Tuesday, September 29, 1998. He is survived by his parents, Colonel (Ret.) Roger and Anna May Conarty; three sisters, Sharon Lee Nesseth and husband, Darrel of Brighton, CO, Helen Madeleine Crouch and husband, James of Casper, WY and Micaela Ann Perkins and husband, Paul of Aurora, CO; and a brother, Murray Rogers Conarty and wife, Sandra of Allen, TX and their children. David was born December 8, 1964 at Elmendorf, AFB, Anchorage, AK. He attended grade school in Iranzamin School in Teheran, Iran and St. Charles Borromeo School in Albuquerque; and high school at Thomas More Prep in Hays, KS. He attended the University of New Mexico and one year at the University of Paris (Sorbonne) in Paris, France. David excelled in Track and Cross-Country running during his school years and later in Albuquerque competitions, and was a certified ski instructor. He was fluent in French and visited France for extended periods. David was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a selfless person who would do or give anything to assist anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by those who truly knew him. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Davis -- William Davis, 39, born September 22, 1958, died August 29, 1998. He was the beloved son of Dolores C. Davis, who survives him, as do sisters, Lourdes, Julie, Rose, Dolores, Lolita; brothers, Danny, Earl, John, Rick; beloved uncle, Gene and family; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him. William will be remembered by many for his smile and personality that was so great. His zest for life was cut short, but we thank God for letting him be in our lives. Egli -- Stanley M. Egli, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, passed away September 12, 1998. He is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Evelyn; daughter, Susan and her husband, Bill Carden of Austin, TX; son, Douglas Egli, M.D. and wife, Regina Valencia, M.D. of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian Carden, Jason Carden, Katharine Egli and Michael Egli; sisters, Elsie Litwiller of Washington, IA and Ida Egli of Kalona, IA; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Marlene in 1955. Stan was born June 27, 1918 in Manson, IA, the last of 13 children. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. After obtaining a degree in Business Administration from Denver University, he began a career in hospital administration. He served as Administrator of the Espanola Hospital from 1965 to 1978 and Assistant Regional Administrator for Presbyterian Hospital Center from 1978 to 1980. He served as President of the New Mexico Hospital Association in 1971. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Presbyterian Hospice or St. Stephen's United Methodist Church Kids Under Construction Program Preschool and Daycare. Fine -- Jerry Lee Fine, 57, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 1998. He suffered a heart attack after a long battle with cancer. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Harry Fine. Jerry was the Electrical Inspector for the University of New Mexico and owner of Fine Electric for over 30 years. He will be remembered by his family and many friends for his generosity, sense of humor, and friendship. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and reception will be held on October 9, 1998, 7:00 p.m., at St. Andrew Presbyterian church, 5301 Ponderosa NE, with Rev. Dr. Frank Yates officiating. Friedman -- John J. (Jack) Friedman passed away Tuesday morning, October 6, 1998 at his home. Garnjost -- Charles (Chuck) Garnjost passed away on October 6, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born on September 17,1933, in Oakland, CA. He is survived by his wife, BJ; daughter, Kathy Sallee and husband, Steve; and two grandsons, Rick and Matt of Albuquerque and daughter, Pam Bortolussi and husband, Ron of Fremont, CA; and sister, Esther Evers and husband, Don of Pleasanton, CA. Chuck was a resident of Albuquerque from 1971-1976 when he was a Production Control Manager for Singer Business Machines. Chuck and BJ celebrated 42 years of marriage and have fond memories of camping, biking, traveling and bird-watching together. A memorial service celebrating Chuck's life will take place at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE on Friday, October 9 at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Fred Dorisse officiating. Juarez -- Gloria Marie Villa-Juarez, born May 29, 1937 in Clovis, NM, passed away October 5, 1998 in Albuquerque. Kepling -- John Jay Kepling, Jr., 80, a 27 year resident of Rio Rancho, silently slipped away on Friday, September 25, 1998 at 6:15 a.m. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn (Evie) of the family home; his sister, Eleanor Barton of Michigan; his brothers, Bob Kepling of Michigan, Ferris Kepling and wife, Nelda, and Richard of Ohio; his sister, Glenna Greener and husband, Wes of Ohio; his three daughters, Linda Harris and husband, Bill, and Karen Kervin, all of Ohio, and Marlene Goodman and husband, Paul of Texas. He also leaves seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He served as Chairman of the U.A.W. retirees for 17 years, was a life member of the D.A.V., belonged to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, served in the Army in WWII, was a Colonel in the New Mexico State Defense Force where he was appointed Chaplain Emeritus of the State of New Mexico. He also held membership in numerous clubs and organizations. Interment, with military honors, took place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, October 2, 1998. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be Sunday afternoon, October 11, 1998, 2:00 p.m., at the Rio Rancho Community Christian Church, (Hwy. 528 and 19th Ave. in Rio Rancho). Lawrence -- R.B. Lawrence, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died on Sunday, October 4, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Coy Lawrence of Albuquerque; son, Larry A. Randall -- David Frank Randall, 84, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on September 15, 1998. He was a retired Baptist Minister. He was Pastor of several churches in Texas and in Northern New Mexico. Frank left New Mexico in 1968 to become Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Wickenburg, AZ. He was also the Mayor of Wickenburg for several years before his retirement. He and his wife, Nellie had been married for 57 years, when she preceded him in death in 1994. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Randall also preceded him. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret R. Penny and husband, Norris and Jean (Dutchie) Morris and husband, Tom. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces, all of Albuquerque. He was very loved by his sisters and family and will be dearly missed. Services were handled by Messinger Mortuary in Scottsdale, AZ.

Santillanez -- Gabriella (Lela) M. Santillanez passed away Wednesday, October 7, 1998. She was born to Abel and Margarita Pacheco on March 25, 1925. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex; brothers, Jose and Fernando Pacheco; parents, Margarita and Abel. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Montoya and husband, Percy; grandchildren, Michael, Michelle and Matthew Montoya, Paul Thurston and wife, Marilyn; great-grandchildren, Theresa and Korey Robles, Adrian Montoya and Ricky Thurston. Also surviving are her brother, Juan Pacheco; sisters, Lola Nieto, Belle Robles and husband, Phil; sisters-in-law, Finita Santillanez, Adelina Fuentes and husband, Joe; numerous nieces and nephews who she regarded as sons and daughters; many friends and neighbors, especially Minnie Tolbert. Sorri -- John Norman (Jack) Sorri, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for the past five years, died peacefully Monday, October 5, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally of the family home; his son, Tom Soor and wife, Kathia of San Jose, CA; his sister, Carolyn Ruddekopp of Juneau, AK; his brother, Fred Sorri of Yuba City, CA; his aunt and uncle, Ellen and Frank Chinella of Seattle, WA; nephews, Ron Sorri of Albuquerque, Kevin Sorri of Yuba City, CA, and Bob Davis of Aqua Dulce, CA; nieces, Linda Wagoner of San Diego, CA, Cherie Boucke of Yuba City, CA and Cindy Reddekopp of Gold Bar, WA; and many other dear friends and relatives. Mr. Sorri was preceded in death by his son, Patrick; and brother, Richard. Jack was a devoted husband, father, brother and wonderful friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jack was born and reared in Juneau, AK and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bradley University, where he earned his degree from the school of Horology. He was an accomplished watchmaker and owned his own jewelry store. He was also a designer draftsman, where his keen sense of perfection was utilized to insure all plans met design specifications. His keen ability for precision was evident in his many hobbies, including stained glass, model building, gardening and woodworking. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 8, 1998, 3:00 p.m., at West Mesa Christian Church, 8821 Golf Course Rd. NW, with Rev. Mark Denton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made in memory of Mr. Sorri to the West Mesa Christian Church Building Fund. Webster -- Walter Arthur Webster, 74, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday, October 6, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Joy Webster of the family home; brother, William Webster and wife, Bee of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Elaine Morrish and husband, Sid of Albuquerque; nieces, Kimberly Wynn and husband, Dallas of Tucson, AZ and Mary Morrish of Bonney Lake, WA; nephews, Jim Webster and wife, Kathy of Fayetteville, AK, Bill Webster and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque and Tom Morrish and wife, Ruth of Silver City, NM. Mr. Webster was born on Saturday, March 29, 1924, and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, class of 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Marines for three years in the Pacific. He was involved in the invasions of Tarowa, Iwo Jima, and was wounded in the invasion of Saipan for which he was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. After the war, he attended the University of New Mexico where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Most of his career was spent at Leedskill-Herkernhoff. He was instrumental in automating the water system for the City of Albuquerque. Mr. Webster was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and American Consulting Engineers Council. He was a member of the American Legion Post #7 in Tucson, AZ, the D.A.V. Cutting Garcia Chapter #3 in Albuquerque, and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He enjoyed golfing at the Albuquerque Country Club. He was affiliated with St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Services will be held Saturday, October 10, 1998, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will take place Saturday, October 10, 1998, 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Zolman -- Florence Mildred McNay Zolman, age 82, a longtime resident of Albuquerque since July 4, 1948, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 1998.
