R.B. Lawrence, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died on Sunday, October 4, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Coy Lawrence of Albuquerque; son, Larry A. Lawrence and wife, Terri of Apple Valley, CA; daughters, Carolyn A. Filkins and husband, Mark of Birmingham, AL, and Linda K. Lawrence of Albuquerque; grandson, Ronald Filkins; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Filkins; sisters, Opal Smith, Ruby Lawrence, Estelle Hensley, Bertha Stiles, and Shirley Callahan; brothers, Jay Lawrence and wife, Charlotte, Jerry Lawrence and wife, Sally, and Curtis Lawrence and wife, Holly; and many other family members and friends. Mr. Lawrence was a driver for ABF Freight Systems for over 26 years before retiring in 1995. Services will be held Thursday, October 8, 1998, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Raymond L. Franks officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Argene Putman, Jack Boyd, Roy Trammell, George Mora, Floyd Strom, and Maurice Taunton.
